A Muslim gal that goes by the name of Rounak at my VOX blog left a comment to this original post: “Saudi Arabia: The Islamist Cage.” You can view all of Rounak and my sparring by clicking the title link. Actually there was a word in my introduction of the essay so entitled by Youssef Ibrahim way back in 2007. That was nearly the beginning of my blogging days. That word was “Mohammedan”. Admittedly the term is offensive to Muslims for they prefer their religion to be called Islam and an adherent of their religion to be called a Muslim.
These days I probably use the words “Mohammedan” and “Mohammedanism” when I am upset with the treatment of Muslims of non-Muslims. After all Muslims don’t have a problem calling non-Muslims kafir or treat non-Muslims in their own regions as a dhimmi.
The comment from Rounak in this current essay is based on this:

it was a disobedience for which Prophet Adaam (Peace be upon him) and Bibi Hawwa (Peace be upon her) repented and was forgiven by God (Quran 2: 37)...even the Bible negates the theory of Original Sin which you are saying is true (Ezekiel 18:20) ''The son shall not bear the iniquity of the father, neither shall the father bear the iniquity of the son''...It is God who forgives...and yes we will InshAllah find out the truth...
My Response:
Rounak you probably will not appreciate the true interpretation of the context of which Ezekiel 18: 20 is only a fraction. The context is established in verse 2 of Ezekiel 18:
What do you mean when you use this proverb concerning the land of Israel, saying: 'The fathers have eaten sour grapes, And the children’s teeth are set on edge’?
You see the context is "the land of Israel" is the nation promised to the descendants of Abraham through the son of Promise Isaac. Ezekiel is asking God about national judgment being imputed to all Jews because their Kings and Royal House had turned away from the Way of God and adopted some of the sins of being polytheists including turning away from the Law of God as passed down by the Law Giver Moses.
God elaborates to Prophet Ezekiel that sons of the fallen Kingdoms of Israel and Judah will not be held responsible for the sins of their fathers (i.e. their leaders who abandoned God) as long as they keep the law. There is a sense of individuality but only as it relates to the Jews being the Chosen People in which the Good News of Deliverance occurs. To this day the Jews believe this means live right according to the Law individually as Jews until the promise gave to Moses just before his death that a prophet greater than he would come to lead the Chosen People (i.e. the Jews).
15 “The LORD your God will raise up for you a Prophet like me from your midst, from your brethren. Him you shall hear, 16 according to all you desired of the LORD your God in Horeb in the day of the assembly, saying, ‘Let me not hear again the voice of the LORD my God, nor let me see this great fire anymore, lest I die.’
17 “And the LORD said to me: ‘What they have spoken is good. 18 I will raise up for them a Prophet like you from among their brethren, and will put My words in His mouth, and He shall speak to them all that I command Him. 19 And it shall be that whoever will not hear My words, which He speaks in My name, I will require it of him. 20 But the prophet who presumes to speak a word in My name, which I have not commanded him to speak, or who speaks in the name of other gods, that prophet shall die.’ 21 And if you say in your heart, ‘How shall we know the word which the LORD has not spoken?’— 22 when a prophet speaks in the name of the LORD, if the thing does not happen or come to pass, that is the thing which the LORD has not spoken; the prophet has spoken it presumptuously; you shall not be afraid of him. (Deuteronomy 18:15-22)
That prophet is Jesus who is still alive, not Mohammed who deviated his edicts according to the circumstances he faced and his god Allah the credit as if God changed His will to suit a human's emotions governed by flesh rather than the Spirit of God. Mohammed does not meet the Qualifications God gave to Moses.
Thus Ezekiel 18: 20 is God's message in context to Ezekiel saying Jews who return to the Law will be judged according to their fathers (those who abandoned God).
Apart from the message God was telling Ezekiel about the Jews as a nation, the man who was the son of Mary and the Son of God was that great Prophet representing the Jews who extend deliverance beyond the nation of Israel but to all who believed on the Risen Lord Jesus. The Resurrection of Jesus in bodily form paid the price of human sin individually inherited from a fallen Adam by paying the blood price of the sin delivering all who believe on an individual basis - The Christian extension of faith rejected by most Jews and repudiated by the false prophet Mohammed.
That is the truth will discover.
