I did not grow up in Oklahoma. On the other hand my wife of 36 years was born and raised in Oklahoma and a card-carrying member of the Cherokee Indian Nation. I first came to Oklahoma to attend Bible School in 1982. After graduation in 1984, I moved back and forth between where I grew up in Eastern Washington State and Oklahoma which included a sad divorce from my first wife. In 1990 I remarried to my Cherokee princess and moved back to Eastern Washington. In 1997 my Honey desired to attend the same Bible School I graduated from. So we moved back to Oklahoma and have since remained.
That is my brief pedigree as an Okie. I’ve embraced the Conservative politics that the voting majority of Oklahomans have maintained at least since the years I’ve lived here.
AND SO I was a bit surprised that the voters who still gravitate toward the Democratic Party in the August 2026 Oklahoma Primary selected a candidate who proudly embraces the tenets of the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) in N’Kiyla Jasmine Thomas. Apparently she is not a formal member of the DSA, but admires their Communism enough to identify with this block that desires to transform America into a One-Party hellhole of a tyranny.
R. J. Rummel made it a life study to track genocide-by-government and developed the term Democide. There are many kinds of governments involved in Democide, yet Rummel asserts that Communists have been by far the worst perpetrators. Consider these last two paragraphs from a Rummel essay from 1993 entitled, “HOW MANY DID COMMUNIST REGIMES MURDER?”:
“Finally, at the extreme of totalitarian power we have the greatest extreme of democide. Communist governments have almost without exception wielded the most absolute power and their greatest killing (such as during Stalin's reign or the height of Mao's power) has taken place when they have been in their own history most totalitarian. As most communist governments underwent increasing liberalization and a loosening of centralized power in the 1960s through the 1980s, the pace of killing dropped off sharply.
Communism has been the greatest social engineering experiment we have ever seen. It failed utterly and in doing so it killed over 100,000,000 men, women, and children, not to mention the near 30,000,000 of its subjects that died in its often aggressive wars and the rebellions it provoked. But there is a larger lesson to be learned from this horrendous sacrifice to one ideology. [Blog Editor Bold Text Emphasis] That is that no one can be trusted with power. The more power the center has to impose the beliefs of an ideological or religious elite or impose the whims of a dictator, the more likely human lives are to be sacrificed. This is but one reason, but perhaps the most important one, for fostering liberal democracy.”
Grokipedia uses a couple of sources including Rummel in article on Communist Mass Killings under the citation: “Mass killings under communist regimes”. Going past the Grokipedia first paragraph under the heading “Definition and Scope: Defining Mass Killings under Communism”, read these two paragraphs:
“Mass killings under communist regimes denote the deliberate, policy-driven extermination of millions by Marxist-Leninist states through executions, forced labor in camps, deportations, and induced famines, distinct from combat losses in declared wars. These acts constitute democide, as conceptualized by political scientist R. J. Rummel, encompassing genocide, politicide, and mass murder perpetrated by governments against unarmed civilians to enforce ideological conformity and eliminate designated enemies such as kulaks, intellectuals, and political dissidents. Rummel attributes over 110 million democide victims to communist regimes between 1900 and 1987, based on archival records, demographic discrepancies, and regime admissions.[1]

AND YET enough Dem Voters (probably brainwashed youthful voters) in Oklahoma advanced N’Kiyla Jasmine Thomas as a Dem-Party Nominee to represent Oklahoma in the U.S. Senate. Thomas is NOT a DSA member yet proudly pushes DSA tents. According to a Patheos post from 7/30/26 entitled, “Yes, the Democratic Socialists Really Are Communists” WHICH READS:
‘“Establish public ownership of the largest corporations and essential industries to ensure democratic control and accountability to the people.” [The state will own the “largest corporations” (how large will they have to be?” and “essential industries” (which ones are not considered essential?). This is textbook Marxist socialism.]
“For the working class to govern, we need a new political system. . . .Abolish the Electoral College. Replace the President and Supreme Court with an executive and judiciary chosen by and subordinate to Congress. . . .Expand the House of Representatives, implement proportional representation and ranked choice voting in all elections, and abolish the Senate.” [All of this would require repealing the U.S. constitution and adopting a new one; hence, abolishing the United States of America and creating a new nation, perhaps to be called the Democratic Socialist Republic of America. Thomas is smart enough to run a campaign to deceive young voters with an everything that should be free campaign which obviously leaves out the TYRANNY of the cost of everything free. Communists are big on false promises which later spank the masses with do-as-the-Party-says or face the consequences. History shows the consequences are DEADLY.

This is a fairly flowery platform lacking substance. Since N’Kiyla is essentially a DSA-Communist, if her armed services deployed husband supports her, I have to wonder if Patrick Thomas will honor his oath to the Constitution and to the President of the USA. Both of which the DSA desires to eliminate.
