Non-Muslims! ‘Reliance of the Traveller’ is NOT Your Friend

Pay Attention – Islam is Evil

The Islamic manual Reliance of the Traveller is an Islamic manual on Sharia Law written Arabic in the 14th century. It was written as a guide for Muslims. Non-Muslims should pay attention because their treatment is addressed as well. AND that treatment is not pleasant.

An American convert to Islam going by the name Nuh Ha Mim Keller, wrote an English translation to the Reliance of the Traveller in the 1980s. It turns out Keller not only left out some translations but may have added some English text not in the Arabic.

Paul Sutliff – a Counterjihad scholar on Islam – joins the Youtube Channel Lloyd De Jongh to discuss and criticize Keller’s translation. As of typing this I’ve listened to 28-Minutes of what was a live streamed 2:04:48-Hours post from 8/17/26.

Before sharing the discussion, I have decided to share some source links you might want to peruse briefly before tackling the discussion. I will begin with the Amana Publications (Pro-Islam publisher) from DocDroid.com which has 1251 pages of Keller’s translation:

Youtube VIDEO: Reliance of the Traveller. Was Nuh Ha Mim Keller a deceiver of Muslims?

The #Shariah, with Paul Sutliff. Why did Keller believe he could himself write three books of Shariah within the volume called the Reliance of the Traveller? Num Keller is the “translator” of Umdat al-Salik by Ahmad ibn Naqib al-Misri. Al-Misri’s book begins in Book d: The Author's Introduction to 'Umdat ai-Salik. But in front of that are books a, b, and c. For most who know little of shariah, this seems an easy thing to miss. But when you start to study shariah for its purpose and intent, along with a desire to understand where the source material for the law is, you discover some interesting facts.
