And So It Begins...

Saudi-Iran Map
Yesterday I wrote of President Barack Hussein Obama’s Foreign Policy duplicity for making the effort to negotiate a deal with Iran that will essentially leave their not-so-secret clandestine nuclear weapons program intact. AND that such a negotiation is throwing Israel under the bus.

TODAY I have learned what Obama’s idiotic plans with Iran will lead to – Check out The Corner of the National Review Online to discover Obama’s negotiations is beginning WMD nuclear arms race in the Middle East.

And So It Begins...

My old colleague Mark Urban reports for the BBC:

Saudi Arabia has invested in Pakistani nuclear weapons projects, and believes it could obtain atomic bombs at will, a variety of sources have told BBC Newsnight.

While the kingdom’s quest has often been set in the context of countering Iran’s atomic programme, it is now possible that the Saudis might be able to deploy such devices more quickly than the Islamic republic.

Earlier this year, a senior Nato decision maker told me that he had seen intelligence reporting that nuclear weapons made in Pakistan on behalf of Saudi Arabia are now sitting ready for delivery…

The Sauds, of course, are signatories to that spiffy non-proliferation treaty. Zbigniew Brzezinski and all the realpolitik types in Washington think Iran can be “contained” à la Russian bear. King Abdullah and the other Sunni monarchs understand that this isn’t 1950: a US containment strategy doesn’t come in the wake of nuking Japan, but after years of American weakness, retreat, and the abandonment of allies like Mubarak. Would you bet your future on American containment?

America Might have to use a Little Tweaked MAD on Iran

Nuclear End Times

John R. Houk
© January 31, 2011

Dina Esfandiary and Harry White are geopolitical experts that focus on security issues such as nuclear proliferation. Esfandiary and White have tagged an article that has appeared in the Australian about their belief that a nuclear armed Iran is inevitable. Their conclusion is based on covert and overt activities have only served to slow down Iran’s nuclear aspirations rather than prevent them.

Their solution to a nuclear armed Iran then is not prevention, it is in deterrence. It seems the word “deterrence” is code for the old Cold War strategy between the old USSR and America of Mutually Assured Destruction (MAD). In no place in the article is there is specific to MAD strategy; however check this sentence out:

The most obvious answer is deterrence, and probably nuclear deterrence. It will have to be clear to Iran that the consequences of using of nuclear weapons will far outweigh the benefits. Security provided by deterrence is more frightening than security provided by accord, but …”

That sounds like MAD strategy to me, how about you?

The thing is the threat of MAD strategy with Iran will have to be tweaked if it has any chance of working. The Mullahs of Iran subscribe to a radical theopolitical ideology that proclaims the Twelfth Imam (i.e. the Mahdi) will return soon to begin a global conquest to bring Islam to the world. Politics and theology merge for Iranian Twelver Shi’ites that will bring little fear of reprisal from a nuclear armed kafir nation such as the USA or Israel. Indeed Twelvers believe that the hidden Twelfth Imam needs a little help to reveal his self to lead physical Muslim armies in global conquest. What is that help? Check it out: If a human factor causes global chaos, the Twelfth Imam will appear to set things straight.

The only way to tweak a MAD strategy with Iran is to actually utilize a surgical small nuclear attack to show America means business. There is no way Israel could get away with such a notion. The Western armed nuclear powers are too cowardly to sign off on such nuclear surgery. India is capable, but they have their own MAD strategy working between them and Pakistan. China would take a wait and see what happens and throw in with whoever provides the best for Chinese National Interests and Security. Russia will overtly support Iran but also will join in according to how it benefits them.

Let’s see. What kind of chaos is happening currently in the Middle East?

1.     Recently a Hezbollah backed man became the Prime Minister of Lebanon after Hezbollah forced out Prime Minister Saad Hariri. New Prime Minister Najib Mikati has given public assurance he is not in the pocket of Hezbollah, Syria and Iran. If you believe that I have some mythical swamp land in Florida I can sell you for cheap.

2.     And why did Hezbollah topple the fragile Lebanese government of Prime Minister Hariri? It is because the U.N. has taken the shocking uncharacteristic action of naming what many believe to be Hezbollah members. There is speculation that Ayatollah Khamenei of Iran issued the order to assassinate Prime Minister Rafik Hariri and might be on the indictment. You can see the Iran to Syria to Hezbollah to Lebanon connection, right? Rafik was the father of Saad.

3.     Who can count how many times Syria has issued alerts in preparation for war with Israel the last couple of years. Did I mention Israel bombed a Syrian stealth nuclear reactor not too long ago?

4.     Hezbollah is Iran on the Mediterranean with some extreme back-up from rogue nation Syria.

5.     Sunni Hamas is a military recipient of the psycho-Shias of Iran and a tool of the Muslim Brotherhood.

6.     In mentioning the Muslim Brotherhood, that Salafist Islamic organization has taken advantage of Egyptian unrest to thrust itself into a potential power vacuum the mob is causing. Indeed, there are reports that both Hamas and Hezbollah have dispatched agents into Egypt to tweak the mob. Muslim grassroots unhappiness has spread across North Africa and is now entering the Sunni Middle East as well.

I am sure with a little more digging I could find some more Muslim African and Muslim Asia indicators of the kind of chaos that is having a global effect. You can’t tell me the Twelvers of Iran are not thinking of giving a Twelfth Imam nudge by pushing chaotic circumstances.

Tehran must know we'll strike back

By Dina Esfandiary and Harry White
January 31, 2011 12:00AM

TALKS with Iran failed last week in Istanbul in another sign that within a few years the international community is likely to be faced with a nuclear-armed Iran.

Now is the time to work out how we plan to deal with it. Iran has never officially declared an ambition to develop nuclear weapons, but there is a very real possibility it could go down that path. How should the rest of the world respond? Delaying tactics should not be discounted; after all, buying time is useful. And breaking off talks would be a rash decision. But if there ever was a window of opportunity in which the rest of the world could prevent a determined Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons, it has almost certainly closed.

Slowing Iran's progress towards a nuclear weapons capability is an important way of dealing with the problem. A few weeks ago, former Mossad chief Meir Dagan said Iran's nuclear program had been set back and would not produce a bomb until 2015. This timeline is a testament to the success of the current mix of sanctions and sabotage -- including assassinations, and industrial and cyber-sabotage -- in slowing Iranian progress.

Limited air strikes, most likely by Israel, on the main Iranian nuclear installations will have the same effect, although there would also be some serious risks.

But lack of intelligence about the number and location of covert facilities would make targeting the program difficult, and strikes will lead Iran to double efforts to overcome the damage and resume development. None of the options can stop Iran developing nuclear weapons. All they can do is buy time.

In a perfect world, delaying tactics would give the international community some time to figure out how to convince Iran to forgo its nuclear program, but the problem with coming to a negotiated solution is that it is difficult to imagine what the rest of the world would offer that would entice Iran to give up its uranium enrichment program.

The real subject of these talks is not the domestic nuclear program, but the potential it has to be used as the basis for developing nuclear weapons. Iran clearly wants to retain the option. But who can blame them? The advantages to Iran of having a minimum nuclear deterrent may well outweigh the disadvantages.

If Iranians cannot be prevented from developing nuclear weapons, and if we are unlikely to change their minds about whether they want them, then, like it or not, the international community might just have to learn to live with a nuclear Iran.

Instead of trying to figure out how to stop Iran getting nuclear weapons, we now have to figure out how to stop them being used. The most obvious answer is deterrence, and probably nuclear deterrence. It will have to be clear to Iran that the consequences of using of nuclear weapons will far outweigh the benefits. Security provided by deterrence is more frightening than security provided by accord, but it may be the best option we have.

The Attack of the Stuxnet

John R. Houk
© October 1, 2010

Caroline Glick writes about a piece of technology she describes as an act of war. What is this technology? It is a malware worm delivered via a USB port (so far) rather than the Internet. Apparently the target of the computer worm was Iran’s nuclear infrastructure.

I’ll Glick describe how the malware worm works for I am a bit cyber/computer challenged. The outcome of the effect on Iran’s nuclear infrastructure is what caught my attention. Whatever the worm does it seems to have affected Iran’s nuclear sites to the point of delaying the opening of one and the slowdown of another.

When I first began reading the Glick article I thought there would be a punch line for Glick does have a sense of humor in her political communication such as the Latma satirical videos (You may need a Web-Translator) poking political fun at Israel’s enemies. As I read on I decided I was either gullible or this is some tech info not being confirmed in the way it should be to the public.

The worm has a name: Stuxnet.

According to Glick no one is claiming credit for developing the worm, but the first nation hit by believes it was the USA, India or Israel. Of course Iran’s focus is on Israel. And even Glick guesses that Israel was responsible for developing the very complicated worm.

Most experts believe this needed the resources of a nation-State to develop Stuxnet. If indeed the USA and/or Israel clandestinely have discovered a new weapon for the 21st century that attacks technology rather than people (or at least not people directly) then I pray it is utilized on belligerent nations whole-heartedly – such as Iran – before nuclear technology is used to obliterate Israel and the planet.

Rogue Nations are Libel to Nuclear Retaliation

John R. Houk
© March 11, 2010

Prophecy Update is an excellent website that posts media articles that are slanted toward current events in a Christian perspective. Prophecy Update archives an e-newsletter at its InJesus site which you can explore HERE.

Today I am cross posting some articles that relate to Iran and its nuclear program which unless you are duped moron is actually a nuclear weapons program.

One thing I noticed which I found interesting is some further information I missed concerning President Barack Hussein Obama’s new nuclear WMD engagement strategy. I have been listening to my fellow critics of the strategy which includes a non-retaliation policy of signatories of the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT). This means if an NPT signatory was responsible for another form of a WMD attack then America would not retaliate with nuclear warheads. An example of a non-nuclear attack could a first strike with chemical WMD. Those that disagree with the non-retaliation strategy feel this weakens our military strength in deterring all forms of foreign first strike capabilities.

Now this is what I found interesting. The non-retaliation strategy is relevant toward signatories; it is not relevant toward non-signatories. Therefore rogue nations like Iran and North Korea can be targets of nuclear retaliation for any kind of first strike attack. In the Prophecy Update excerpts for April 11 you will notice that Ahmadinejad and the Iranian Shi’ite big dog Ayatollah Khamenei are hopping mad.

As much as I do not like the rest of BHO’s nuclear strategy, the concept of creating a list of non-signatory nations that are open to a nuclear WMD response is brilliant.

National Survival will lead to Existential Decisions

John R. Houk
© March 3, 2010

Almost all Western concerned nations that do not have economic deals with Iran are beginning to fall in line with the reality that the only reason for enriching uranium to weapons grade is to build nuke warheads.

Unfortunately there is another geopolitical reality. The world’s economy is increasing a global economy. This is to say nations that have a medium to thriving economy are experiencing a global interdependence in one fashion or another.

If America suffers a 1930’s type depression, the effect will be felt globally. If a regional war erupts in the Middle East staving the flow of oil to the West, the effect will be felt globally. If a nation that has nuclear weapons becomes unstable or becomes a rogue expansionist nation, the rogue attack of nuke warheads quite probably will force economic and militaristic powerhouses to choose sides causing a global effect. If a nation (e.g. Israel) entertains a preemptive strike against a rogue nuclear armed nation then it is undoubtedly the case the rogue nation and its clients (Nations or Terrorists) will respond, the effect will be felt globally according to the certain escalation.

There will come a time when nations will have to count the cost of threats to their economy, vitality and security. The nation or nations that feel the most existential threat no doubt will make a decision that will have a global effect. If the threat is felt that an action must be taken because the circumstances have gotten so geopolitically out of hand, it is certain the decision will be based on desperation to survive. There will be no amount of pressure from a bigger dog power to forestall an act of desperation.

Israel has experienced time periods in which desperate decisions became gambles since the Land became sovereign in 1948. If the gambles had not paid off, Israel would have ceased to exist in a second bloody holocaust years ago.

Israel is nearing another period of desperation to survive. Western governments are forcing Israel to accept an Arab nation to come into existence whose sole purpose is the termination of Israel and massacre of Jews. Those Arabs have formed numerous umbrella and independent Islamic terrorist organizations. Shi’ite Muslims beginning to control Lebanon are part of the craziness of Iran’s radical Islam. Their reason for existence is to destroy Israel and massacre Jews. Long time rogue nation foe Syria has become emboldened of late threatening war with Israel. Syria and Hezbollah are clients of the radical Islamic nation Iran who undoubtedly will procure nuclear warhead tipped intercontinental ballistic missiles very soon unless aggressively slowed or outright prevented.

Here is the picture: Iran threatening to wipe Israel off the map; Iranian client Syria joins Iran in rattling sabers; Hezbollah has chimed in as well; Gazastan’s Hamas vowing Israel’s destruction – O yeah, Hamas receives arms and money from Iran. The so-called Palestine Authority (PA) is really a Western propped up bunch of thugs from the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) umbrella. The PA lies to the West about intentions and tells the truth to their own about intentions. Those intentions are to destroy Israel and annex the Land into a so-called greater Palestine. With Arabs being trained to graphically and pathologically hate Jews, one could probably come up with a good guess of the pseudo-Palestinian intention for Jews.

Even in the ever increasing envelopment of hate surrounding Israel, its government attempts to placate the Western nations that could be called friends by caving into diplomatic efforts to solve its existential crisis. Ironically two nations that have not exactly been friendly to Israel over the years may be the last key to a diplomatic solution to a nuclear armed Iran (and clients). Those two nations are Russia and China. Both have economic, arms dealing and oil interaction with Iran.

President Dmitry Medvedev of Russia has recently indicated a willingness to take a tougher stand with Iran’s nuclear warhead capability. I am uncertain how much credibility should be placed in Medvedev’s public rebuke of Iran. After all Russia is the primary reason Iran has a nuclear program at all.

It is in Russia’s National Interest to spike up Iran’s power to a certain degree to cause uncertainty of America’s interests and influence in the Middle East.

Israel is initiating diplomatic efforts to get China on board to place pressure on Iran. Israel’s Haaretz reports that a team of diplomatic Israelis have been dispatched to China to show evidence of Iran’s building of nuclear warheads. China is truly dependent at the time on Iran’s oil. Also China has numerous money making ventures involved with Iran’s national infrastructure. Apparently the deals are quite lucrative for China. Even if Israel succeeds in demonstrating Iran’s nuclear weapons aspiration, the money deals may keep China in Iran’s global camp.

Sitting here doing some armchair speculation, it seems China should truly consider the effects of a nuclear armed Iran toward China. China certainly has a stake - like Russia - in lessening American power and influence. On the other hand China’s society is still a Marxist-Maoist State in its foundations. This means the forbidding of ideology that might rock China’s cultural control. Iran may call America the Great Satan; however its political Islamic ideology is such that Iran could eventually turn its attention to an officially atheistic nation such as China. China has already had Muslim troubles with its indigenous Islamic Uighurs rebelling with terrorism against Chinese authority.

Since radical Islam’s radical Sunnis and Shi’ites expect to establish a global Caliphate (SA HERE) or global rule by the Mahdi, it is not a far stretch that Iranian nukes could be pointed toward atheistic China. Indeed in the globalist economy, a nuke strike on China would truly affect the American dollar which in turn has a global effect.

China’s evident desire to be a regional super power hegemon might tempt the Marxist government to listen to Israel’s diplomatic efforts in regard to a nuclear Iran.

Iran Deception, Nuclear Enrichment and Israel

John R. Houk
© February 8, 2010

The old smoke and mirrors is still being used by Iran concerning their nuclear program that only an idiot would believe is being developed for peaceful purposes.

Ahmadinejad says this about nuclear enrichment:

"I (ask) Dr Salehi to start work on the production of 20% fuel using centrifuges," Ahmadinejad said in a televised speech, referring to Ali Akbar Salehi, who heads the atomic energy body.

"We are interested in cooperation with the West, but if they want to keep playing games with the Iranian nation, then we must be prepared and enrich uranium at 20% ourselves," the president said.

But he added: "The doors for interaction are still open." Ahmadinejad also said Iran had the capability to enrich uranium using laser technology, without elaborating. (From Ynet News)

Ahmadinejad instructs the head of the Iranian nuclear program to proceed to have nuclear centrifuges to enrich uranium to 20%. Then almost with the same breath publicly say Iran is still interested in “cooperation” and “interaction” with the West.

It sounds like a diplomatic channel saying to the effect, “I have a chip on my shoulder. I dare you to knock it off.” The chip is the 20% enrichment. The dare is the cooperation and interaction.

Someone tell me how that it works out to be good faith negotiation with the West to not enrich weapons grade uranium?

Here is another no-brainer piece of information. President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is not the only high level Iranian to assert Israel will not be around in existence much longer. Indeed Supreme Leader (the buck stops here boss) Ayatollah Khamenei has said, “With God's help, Israel's disappearance is certain”. (From the same Ynet News article above)

And to whom was Khamenei addressing this statement? Killer Khamenei was addressing Secretary-General Ramadan Salah of the virulently evil Palestinian Islamic terrorist organization known as Islamic Jihad.

Khamenei’s public words seem to line up with Caroline Glick’s thoughts that a major regional war is imminent with Israel.

Hillary goes weak-kneed on Iran sanctions

Morris castigates Secretary of State Hillary Clinton for offering Leftie sanctions (i.e. worthless and ineffective) to stop Iran’s nuclear program from producing weapons grade enriched uranium.

To be sure I have never been a Hillary fan so I just want to be clear I am not finding excuses for any porous sanctions against Iran.

We have to remember President Barack Hussein Obama’s initial agenda of negotiations without preconditions. I sense this has to do more with the Secretary of State’s weak sanctions than Hillary herself. Morris himself points out that hubby Slick Willie as President ignored the weak sanctions advice against the bloody Serbia/Bosnia conflict in an effort to halt the mutual atrocities between Muslim Bosnia and Eastern Orthodox Serbia. (Serbia’s atrocities gained more attention for they were the most recent in the effect of human misery.) President Slick Willie utilized stiff sanctions followed by NATO military action to stop the atrocities.

President Obama is taking the appeasement Leftist road for it will be politically correct and more in alignment with his fringe voting base.

Anyway that is my opinion. Here is Morris’ opinion.

The Year of Living Fecklessly

Examine the word “feckless”. It means:

    1. Lacking purpose or vitality; feeble or ineffective.

    2. Careless and irresponsible.

    - Houghton Mifflin e-Reference

The adverb form of this word is the description Charles Krauthammer assigns to President Barack Hussein Obama’s 2009 foreign policy especially as it relates to Iran.

What will Iran Deal Rejection Lead To?

John R. Houk
© November 3, 2009

Iran was supposed to have given a final decision to a document it approved in principle stipulating Iran would ship most of its nuclear fuel to Russia for enrichment rather than do the process in Iran. Iran made the deal October 21, 2009 with the deadline being October 22. Theoretically this was to alleviate Western fears of developing nuclear warheads for Iran’s already tested ICBM’s. I expressed the thoughts that neither Iran nor Russia could be trusted in such a deal.

October 22 has come and gone with Iran claiming IAEA ElBaradei made no such deadline. Rather ElBaradei merely suggested a response time.

Of course this a typical stall tactic employed quite successfully by Iran whenever the psycho-ruling Shi’ite Clerics felt international pressure needed a bit of smoke and mirrors.

As of November 2 it is obvious Iran is backing away from the plan agreed on in principle on October 21. Officially Iran has is still claiming adherence to the plan with only a few minor details being changed. The reality is the minor details is a full about face counter-proposal. This indicates that Iran still has every intention of constructing nuclear weapons. If this is the case as I believe then John Bolton’s advice for a pre-emptive strike by Israel is well founded.

Probably for political purposes the Obama Administration via Secretary State Clinton has publicly taken the stand there will be no other deal for Iran. There indications that the Obama Administration are drawing up plans for stiff sanctions to be imposed on Iran. This leaves one to wonder: What are the stiffer sanctions Obama intends to use? If they are as toothless as in the past then why even bother to have sanctions. Simply do what Obama’s Administration has been hoping anyway; i.e. give Iran a rubber stamp of inevitability as a regional nuke power and mold foreign policy accordingly.

Will Israel become a Lone Ranger and strike Iran when it understands completely where Obama foreign policy is leading concerning Iranian nuclear weapons?

There is an Iran nuclear analysis provided by AP writer Brian Murphy concerning Iranian President Ahmadinejad toward the West, America and Israel. The part of the analysis that struck me is that Ahmadinejad is willing to go the extra distance in his arrogant disdain of American power as a deterrent. So I ask again, “What will Israel do?”

Armageddon Time

As you probably are aware, Iran has lifted the hopes of all the dhimmi Leftists of America and the world by tentatively agreeing to send their nuclear fuel to Russia for enrichment. The theory of the agreement is that Russia enriching the nuclear fuel Iran will have less opportunity to produce enough nuclear material to create nuclear warheads. I am among many of the doubters of this being a realistic working theory.

I am not a lone in doubting Iran. Peter Robinson writes of the doubts of two prominent experts: Victor Davis Hanson and Robert Baer. This perspective is vital to read to comprehend the foolishness of the Obama Administration.
