Bridenstine Ready for Congressional Campaign

This information is primarily for my fellow Oklahomans voting in the First District. This is a profile of Republican Jim Bridenstine running against Democrat John Olson. It’s a good read.

Bridenstine Ready for Congressional Campaign

Jim Bridenstine & Eric Cantor

GOP SUPPORT: 1st Congressional District candidate Jim Bridenstine, left, enjoyed a recent fundraising breakfast visit from U.S. House Majority Leader Eric Cantor. The event, held at the Hilton Tulsa Southern Hills Hotel, asked supporters for donations between $250 and $2,500 for the Bridenstine campaign. Democrat John Olson, the owner of a small business, and Independent Craig Allen, an airline pilot, will also be on the 1st District ballot in November.

Editor’s Note: This is the first in a two-part series profiling the Republican and Democratic candidates for the U.S. Congressional District 1 seat in Oklahoma. The October issues of GTR Newspapers will profile Democratic candidate John Olson.

Jim Bridenstine knows what it is to be an underdog. When he took on incumbent John Sullivan in the race for the Oklahoma District 1 seat in the U.S. Congress, many people considered him the longest of longshots; relative unknowns rarely are successful against men who have been re-elected for a decade. But Bridenstine put on an aggressive campaign and, when the votes were counted, he had won.

He was not as surprised as some observers. “When we were polling during those last few weeks, we knew we were close with a large amount of undecided voters. Our job was to bring them to our side in sufficient numbers, and we did,” he says.

Now he is the presumed favorite in a heavily-Republican district in a heavily-Republican state against a relatively unknown Democratic opponent John Olson. Bridenstine vows he isn’t taking Olson lightly. He isn’t a congressman yet.

Assuming he does get elected what are the problems he would attack first? “The very first thing we have to do is get the budget under control,” says Bridenstine. “It doesn’t have to happen overnight, but I think it can be done in about five years. I think we need a constitutional amendment demanding a balanced budget with some kind of provision where a super majority will allow emergency spending.

“Second, Obamacare has to be repealed entirely. There are some things in it, such as covering previous medical conditions, that many will want to keep but I think those items ought to be argued and voted on separately.

“Last, Medicaid should be allocated on block grants to the states and handled by people who know the territory. Each state has its own set of problems; they shouldn’t be ruled on by a distant Federal bureaucracy.”

The tendency of the federal government to force states to kowtow on a wide number of issues bothers Bridenstine. He is a great believer that the Constitution gives Washington certain powers and leaves the rest to the states; he fears Washington is encroaching on things that should be rightfully left to the states. “Government governs best that governs most locally.” The legality of same-sex marriages, for example, is something that should be left to the states. “My personal belief is that a marriage is between a man and a woman. That is the way it has been throughout history and that is the way it should still continue. I understand that there are same-sex couples who want to ensure their partners will be able to inherit each other’s property and have the same benefits as spouses and all this can be handled through contract law.”

He also is particularly disturbed by President Obama’s decisions not to enforce certain illegal immigration laws. “The President’s role is to enforce all the laws of the United States, not to pick and choose which laws he prefers. If the laws need to be changed that’s the job of the President and Congress working together.”

If elected, Bridenstine says he hopes to get a seat on the House Armed Services Committee. A pilot in the U.S. Naval Reserve, he has not only seen action in the Middle East but has flown numerous drug interdiction sorties in South and Central America. He knows the role America’s military has been forced to play in keeping world peace. “Currently our military is getting gutted,” he says. “We have had two cuts of $450 billion each over ten years and are facing cutting about 100,000 people from the military, mostly from the Army. I’m not just concerned this is unfair to military personnel, I’m afraid this is going to cut into the basic ability of our country to defend itself.”

A recent development that has excited Bridenstine is the selection by Mitt Romney of Paul Ryan as his vice presidential candidate.

“Paul Ryan is an excellent choice for vice president. He is a proven leader within the Republican Party. His selection will strengthen and energize the conservative base supporting Mitt Romney. As chair of the House Budget Committee, Ryan has demonstrated outstanding leadership and an in-depth understanding of federal spending and revenues.

“He fully understands the perilous nature of our nation’s economic crisis and has proposed bold solutions to return our country to a position of fiscal responsibility and economic strength.”

Who are the Real Republicans in New York State?

Homo Caution Sign

John R. Houk
© May 18, 2011

The New York Times has ran an article exposing (as called by NYT) Right Wing Contributors and Right Wing Republicans that are giving big bucks to the homosexual agenda of lifestyle validation and of same-sex marriage.

Now I am fairly certain the intent of the story is to show GOP hypocrisy in the typical Republican Party platform of standing for family values. In case there is some actual misunderstanding, homosexual values do not equate family values!

And yet, if you read this NYT article the way that Russians had to read the old USSR controlled Tass wire service, you can glean some information that tells you the difference between RINOs, Libertarian Republicans, Tea Party Republicans and Social Values Republicans.

I believe I can be safe in stipulating the Republicans and so-called Right Wing contributors supporting the homosexual agenda are a combination of RINOs and Libertarian Republicans. I would be surprised if any Tea Party Republicans supported the homosexual agenda; however let’s be honest that there are a large amount of Libertarians in the Tea Party Movement that are there because of less government and less unjust taxation. That leaves Social Values Republicans. I believe I can safely say that only an insane Social Values Conservative would favor the homosexual agenda.

Homosexuals that are open about their sexuality in public are creepy. I am willing to guess a large amount of committed heterosexuals that are not even remotely religious or nominal Christians feel that open homosexuality is creepy. Heterosexuals would not hesitate to announce that homosexuality is creepy except for this age of political correctness and a massive pro-homosexual propaganda campaign from homosexual activists, Leftists, MSM, Hollywood and Television bombarding America with the propaganda. There is a use of propaganda that places heterosexuals that find homosexuality is creepy into feelings of shame. Friends this is the kind of transformation that comes from the Barack Obama agenda to undermine traditional Christian values in order for our culture to accept moral relativity which will enable the government to make choices for Americans by influencing voters with smoke and mirrors.

So read that NYT article with discernment and make a value judgment in who you will vote for in 2012 whether it is a local election or the National elections in November 2012.

I need to confess something to you

Watching the union workers protesting in Wisconsin and other cities across America last week was more than upsetting for me because after thirty-four years of being a very pro-union employee, I couldn't believe what I was hearing!  I always stood proud with my fellow employees and stood every picket line I was assigned to!  I still feel I was blessed to have been able to have a union job.

We never begrudged anyone placing an application for a position in our UNION company!  My fellow workers were proud of what we did and how we helped build America, the greatest nation on the face of the earth!  We also honored and stood by our troops and veterans!  They are our finest and our union was/is made of these heroes!  We were ready to take on anyone with a negative word about them!

After I retired I was honored to be part of the largest grass-roots pro-troop organization in the country.  We rallied for our finest fighting for our FREEDOM today!  Hundreds and thousands of you rallied for our Troops and country with your signs of "United We Stand" and "Don't Tread On Me!"  Our admiration for our troops and our great nation was especially strong when we came face-to-face with the ANTI-AMERICAN, SOCIALIST SCUM from MoveOn.org and CodePink, two groups that hate our American way of life, and treat our Troops with disdain.

I remember our pro-troop rallies in Berkeley when Code Pink and their allies tried to shut down the Marine Corp Officer Recruiting Station and holding their hateful signs calling our Troops and Veterans all types of vile names and accusing them of atrocious acts against babies and poor people overseas!  Some of these groups even sent money and aid to America's enemies around the globe as they apologized for America.  It was disgraceful.

I have to tell you all of this because when I watched the recent pro-union rallies I was sickened to watch workers from many of the largest Unions in America come together at these rallies LED by those shameful vermin from the likes of MoveOn.org, Code Pink and most distressingly Barack Obama's "Organizing for America!"  When their signature bongo drums and sickeningly hateful chants started I was dismayed to watch the hard working American workers standing unaware in unison with them and it was at that point that I knew exactly what we were facing!!

One sign a union worker was carrying in the crowd said, "Working Class!  We don't have time for Tea Parties!"  TEN OR TWENTY YEARS AGO I would have carried the same sign ONLY because I was busy building my family and my home and giving 100%+ to my job!  I didn't have time for politics!  I felt I had done my duty by voting and I would let the politicians take care of everything. As long as I had my paycheck coming in I figured I had done my duty!  Sadly, reality hit me like a ton of bricks.  I realized these hard working people are unaware of HOW THEY'RE BEING USED!  If they knew WHO they were rallying with I think these protests would look very very different!  To know Obama and the government union bosses joined with these vile groups is not surprising but to see the "PRIVATE Union" bosses align with the very groups trying to destroy us is unacceptable!!

The unions are not what they used to be, OR LET ME REPHRASE THAT: the Union members are the hard working Americans just trying to do their best and keep what jobs we HAVE LEFT in America from going away, but it's the union management today who are contributing to the decline of this nation!  After having traveled across this country with the Tea Party Express to hundreds upon hundreds of  Tea Party rallies I was gratified to see so many union members fighting for fiscal sanity and accountability.  They stood AGAINST MoveOn.org, CodePink AND Barack Obama's Obamacare!

My message to them is this: DO YOU REALIZE YOU ARE NOW BEING LED LIKE LAMBS TO THE SLAUGHTER BY THESE SAME ENEMIES OF AMERICANISM!!!  STAND UP!  DON'T LET OBAMA AND HIS BUDDIES DECEIVE YOU!  THEY HAVE ONE AGENDA!  Do you like the "Change" promised??  And WHAT type of change was that exactly???  Oh yeah..."elect him to find out!"  Well guess what, we found out, and it was an ugly slide towards socialism with less freedom for the American people, more power for the federal government, and economic malaise that has crippled our nation.

We must stand UNITED for our children and grandchildren - the future generations of our great nation!  Please join us at "The Campaign to Defeat Barack Obama" as HE joins with the enemies of our constitutional form of government, undermining the hard working American people who BUILT our mighty nation!!

To understand what is wrong with what has taken place in Wisconsin and other states, consider this - no less than Franklin Delano Roosevelt said about public employee unions and whether they should be granted collective bargaining rights:

"All government employees should realize that the process of collective bargaining, as usually understood, cannot be transplanted into the public service. It has its distinct and insurmountable limitations when applied to public personnel management."

Please, stand with us in support of Governor Scott Walker in Wisconsin.  What he is trying to do is right and necessary if we are going to bring order to our fiscal house in America. We can't afford to lose this fight - and let Gov. Walker down.  Barack Obama's "Organizing for America" is putting everything they've got into their efforts to win this fight in Wisconsin, and we must respond by giving it our all!

Your donation via our secure link below will help us bring truth, accountability and security to America by helping Gov. Scott Walker win this important fight.

Please support our efforts to purchase TV and radio airtime in Wisconsin, by making a contribution.

Please contribute $25, $50, $100, $500, $1,000 or more all the way up to the maximum allowed contribution of $5,000.  We're looking for 12 people to donate $500 or more by 10 PM tonight.

Now, please view our brand new ad, and send this out to everyone you can!

GOP Candidate Barber Takes a Stand AGAINST 9/11 Mosque

John R. Houk
© May 26, 2010

I have been enlightened to the existence of a Republican Tea Party candidate for Congress in the 2nd District in Alabama. The Alabama candidate is Rick Barber. As part of his local campaign in Alabama D-2 he has placed an ad that demonstrates his contempt for Islam’s war against America. Ben’s blog alerted me to Rick Barber and has written that the YouTube version of the TV ad should go viral on the Internet.

I watched the video and I agree with Ben. Barber demonstrates an excellent though politically incorrect understanding that the effect theopolitical Islam will have on America. That effect is not conducive to the United States Constitution. This is probably one reason Islamists call America “Great Satan”. American Liberty and Islamic Supremacism cannot exist on the same political plain in a peaceful manner.

American-Islamic groups that have a close affiliation to the likes of the Muslim Brotherhood are a transnational radical Islamic group that provides the Muslim intellectual fodder for Islamic terrorists who have grasped with a firm hand of violent determination. These American-Islamic groups tied to the Muslim Brotherhood in reality are terrorist front groups who have subversively established themselves on American soil. Whenever a public denunciation of Islamic terrorism proceeds from Muslim Brotherhood tied groups it is a moment of deception. The denunciation is measured to suck in America’s obsessive politically correct (which includes Left and Right yet more overtly Left) while simultaneously teaching anti-American theopolitical Islam to their fellow Muslims.

Rick Barber has produced this insight to denounce radical Islam and the building of a Muslim Mosque contiguous to the 9/11 Islamic terrorist destruction of the Twin Towers and several thousand innocent American lives.

This is me agreeing with Ben that Barber’s roughly one minute ad should go viral across America.

Here is the thing though. Barber is one of about four Republicans running for the nomination to face the Democratic Party incumbent in November 2010. Although Barber has received Tea Party support (as he is also involved) the articles I have read show Barber behind front runner Martha Roby. Indeed Roby appears to be more concerned about Stephanie Bell than Rick Barber. Check out a blogger analysis from someone residing in Alabama District-2. It is apparent that Barber has not received the Tea Party exposure that Republican candidate Sharron Angle of Nevada has received. Angle has jumped from a near unknown to passing the early GOP favorite Sue Lowden in the Nevada polls. I don’t live in Alabama, but if I did I would vote for Rick Barber.
