A Risen Conservatism will End RINOs & Dem Damage

Vote Conservative Republican

December 13, 2014

Dajjal posted a comment to the post “Dems Betraying America – It will be Stopped One Way or Another” on the NCCR blog dated 12/11/14. The post with that title was really some thoughts on a post by Danny Jeffrey entitled “Thirty Pieces of Silver” originally placed on Danny’s blog Fix Bayonets.

This is probably an injustice to Danny’s post: The Thirty Pieces of Silver post’s theme is that American politics has become too corrupted by fringe Left Democrats to return to the principles of the vision of the Founding Fathers. That irreversible political situation is made worse because the Establishment Republicans have colluded (wittingly or unwittingly) with the Dems that threaten the U.S. Constitution. Danny views America’s last hope is no-compromise Conservative Senator Ted Cruz. However, it is too late for Cruz too effect any change because the GOP Establishment will do everything to prevent a Cruz election as President.

Since not even a great Conservative as Senator Cruz can undo Leftist damage America is only left with one option to rid the Republic established in the USA. That option is for a coup d’état ridding America of Leftist leadership authority.

In my post “Dems Betraying America” I concurred with Danny that a coup might indeed occur; however I refused to believe a grassroots movement either among Conservatives taking over the Republican Party on a County by County and State by State manner could lead to Constitutional changes that could reverse Dem damage to what has made America exceptional.

As you will read Dajjal totally disagrees that a coup will occur in the USA.

Reblogged this on Freedom Ain’t Free & Take Our Country Back and commented:

While I acknowledge the validity of the pessimism expressed in the citations below [Blog Editor: I am guessing both my view and Danny’s], I absolutely reject suggestions of military coups & violent revolutions. The officer corps has been purged of patriots and the armed forces have superior organization and fire power. Abandon those damn fool dreams entirely.

Barry Morris Goldwater was nominated in ’64 because the party base recognized the truth and intrinsic merit of his platform. He won in the face of total opposition from the establishment. He lost the general election because the party establishment abandoned him.

Ronald Reagan was nominated and won because the electorate recognized the truth and intrinsic merit of his platform and the ‘crats re-nominated an accursed traitor who hurt this nation immensely. The nomination of George H.W. Bush was a fatal flaw, an abandonment of principle in favor of expediency. We must learn from that error so that we never repeat it.

If it is not too late, it soon will be. Discover the election schedule and run a full slate of Conservatives for GOP precinct delegates. Run a Conservative slate for delegates to the state convention. Nominate Conservatives to the RNC and retake control of the party.

Pick one principled, articulate, aggressive Conservative such as Ted Cruz and back him to the hilt. Organize and motivate voters in the early primaries and caucuses. Tell the nattering nabobs of negativism who preach lifting the ‘crat’s tail and inserting our tongues to go to Hell and be damned. Plug your ears to the siren song of “the only one who can win”.

The prospective nominee must build an organization capable of selecting able minded and willing Conservative nominees for all open House & Senate seats and build a Conservative slate. Every RINO who voted for cloture on Obama Don’t Care and other damaging acts of Obamination must have principled, articulate and aggressive primary opposition.

Learn the forgotten lesson of ’80 - victory is not absolute and final. Every election cycle must be hotly contested. RINOs & LibTurds must be replaced with Conservatives. Conservative principles must be clearly expressed and successfully marketed. Balkanization & identity politics must be rejected. The price of Liberty is eternal vigilance: we can never go back to sleep.

Palin vs. Boehner – Who do YOU Agree With?

Sarah Palin - John Boehner
John R. Houk
© July 10, 2014

Yesterday I posted about and whole heartedly agreed with Sarah Palin’s July 8 Breitbart Op-Ed column calling for President Barack Hussein Obama’s impeachment. Today I learned Palin stood by her Op-Ed by appearing on Hannity defending her impeachment call against Obama.

July 8, 2014 - (Fox News) - Sean Hannity Interviews Sarah Palin - Time to Impeach Obama Now! ------ Sarah Palin joined Sean Hannity tonight to explain why she's now calling for President Obama's impeachment; namely, she's tired of the president's lawlessness and use of executive power, and the Republicans can't just "bring a lawsuit to a gunfight," they need to "halt an imperial presidency."

Palin argued that Obama is becoming an imperial president who's "lying to the American people" that needs to be reined in. She dismissed the idea this would be a losing issue for Republicans and, in fact, argued that the impeachment of the president is a bipartisan issue that plenty of Democrats should be able to find agreement with.

Hannity wondered if the GOP would seriously take this up. Palin said if they don't have the "cojones," they should, and declared that any person who cares about the safety and security of the nation needs to get behind filing articles of impeachment because "enough is enough."

Of course you know (if you read my yesterday’s post) I concur with Sarah Palin – “enough is enough”.

I was not surprised to learn that Speaker of the House John Boehner (R-OH) curtly responded to Palin’s Hannity appearance – “I disagree”.

7-9-14 - (John Boehner on IMPEACH OBAMA Stance by Republicans and Sarah Palin) - Yesterday, when a reporter asked Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) if he agrees with Sarah Palin's call to impeach President Barack Obama, he politely responded, "I always respect other people's opinions," before saying he has no plans to make such a proposal. When House Speaker John Boehner (R-OH) was asked the same question at his press conference this morning, his response was a bit more terse to say the least. He appeared to lose interest in the question as it was being asked, saying curtly, "I disagree," while scanning the assembled press to see who he could call on next.

When the reporter continued to ask about House Republicans who also think Obama should be impeached, his expression grew more stern and he repeated, "I disagree."

Last month, when Boehner confirmed his plans to sue President Obama over his use of executive actions, the speaker insisted, "This is not about impeachment, this is about his faithfully executing the laws of our country."

Boehner’s flippant answer in a disdainful manner is at least one of the reasons Tea Party Conservatives desire him to be replaced as the lead Republican making him Speaker of the House. It is also a classic example of Republicans labeled RINOs and of Conservative Republicans more concerned about political position than moving the USA back to the very Conservative principles enumerated in the Republican Party Platform (2012). I suspect when Palin was referring to a Party Platform it was to point two - We The People: A Restoration of Constitutional Government. Here are the subsections of this platform point:

Now I can understand why President Closet-Communist thumbs his nose at these platform headings, BUT I cannot accept that the current most powerful person in the Republican Party does not think Obama has flagrantly abused these Constitutional stands. When Speaker Boehner proclaims publically at a press conference, “I disagree,” he also thumbing his nose at the GOP Party Platform. I have to wonder – does this mean Boehner intends to abandon Conservative principles in supporting the Original Intent of the U.S. Constitution?

Boehner is only the tip of the iceberg of Republicans lacking cojones to act on what needs to be done to protect this nation from Obama’s agenda of transforming America from the Founding Father’s constitutional vision to a top-down Leftist utopian government. The writer that goes by the pseudonym AllahPundit at Hot Air brings up some great observations about Republicans that are bona fide Conservatives yet play politics above the needs of WE THE PEOPLE:

… He [Boehner] wants to do something bold to show conservatives that he’s resisting Obama’s power grabs, but not so bold that it’ll blow up in the GOP’s face in November. The lawsuit is the perfect gesture. It gives him an excuse to rail against executive overreach publicly while booting the disposition of the matter to the courts. If they rule against him, it’s the judiciary’s fault, not his. And if it takes a year or more for the case to wend its way up to the Supreme Court, even better. It’s off his plate, which is what’s important. (Said Palin to Hannity last night, “You don’t bring a lawsuit to a gunfight, and there’s no room for lawyers on our front lines.”) For him to turn around and agree with Palin on impeachment after all that would be bizarre. Why pursue a circuitous legal route to rein in Obama if he’s prepared to try to remove him from office entirely?

It’s not just Boehner who’s running away from impeachment either. In purple-state Iowa, GOP Senate nominee Joni Ernst — who’s been endorsed by Palin — carefully explained to Yahoo News yesterday that she didn’t really say she wanted to impeach Obama the last time she said she wanted to impeach Obama.

Republican Iowa U.S. Senate candidate Joni Ernst attempted Tuesday night to walk back statements made at a January event in which she said President Barack Obama had “become a dictator” who should be “removed from office” or face “impeachment.”…

“To be clear, I have not seen any evidence that the President should be impeached,” the statement …

… Could Boehner’s impeachment-avoidance strategy end up backfiring if he loses his lawsuit? Imagine a federal judge rules that the House’s dispute with O over executive power is a political question that should either be decided by the people at the polls or by the people’s representatives through their Article I powers — which, of course, includes impeachment. The courts will have essentially punted this issue back to Boehner and told him, a la Erick Erickson, to man up and accept the political risk of trying to remove the president if he’s allegedly so troubled by executive overreach. What’s Boehner’s move then? Use the power of the purse to choke off funding for Obama’s priorities and quietly ignore impeachment altogether, right?

This indicates that among RINOs and Conservatives in the Republican Party, their power structure has become political rather than considering their constituents or this American Republic designed to accommodate the American people in Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness. Hannity had asked Palin toward the end of his interview if Palin was considering leaving the GOP. She answered carefully and semi-cryptically to the effect she had no intention to leave the Republican Party but if the Party leaves her what choice would she have. Since the Republican debacle of Election 2012 I have sensed the Republican Party has left true Conservatives. What choice should we make?

Illicit Piranha Feeding over WaPo Stats on Tea Party Spending Habits

USS GOP - Tea Party vs GOP Establishment
John R. Houk
© June 11, 2014

I often post relevant emails from PACs that are also fund raising for a cause. I don’t necessarily support the fund raising but I always include that info to give the reader the choice to do so.

While in the course of looking for background info on one those emails from the Conservative Campaign Committee (CCC) I ran into some information that I found disappointing about various Tea Party organizations. One of those organizations is one of my favorites as far as the Tea Party Movement goes which is the Tea Party Express (let’s abbreviate as TPX). The TPX has a few offshoot PACs of which I also have a close affinity for; such as Move America Forward and the CCC.

The disturbing information I discovered was the accusation that TPX leadership pocket substantial amounts of their donations for personal use and only utilize a small percentage for the actual Tea Party agenda. So I wrote a kind of a full disclosure paragraph prior to posting the CCC email entitled “Benghazi Bombshell: Allen West's Stunning Report” on May 26, 2014. Here is that paragraph:

The Conservative Campaign Committee (CCC) sent a donation request via email and in doing so talked about the subject of Benghazigate. Just a heads up about donations to this particular Tea Party connected PAC is that there appears to be a lineage questionable spending of those donations. Apparently this lineage of Tea Party organizations spend most of their donated money on salaries than they do on the causes they promote. Of course donation mismanagement accusations might be an attack job by the Republican Establishment elites growing weary of Tea Party organizations telling voters they can make a difference by not voting for RINOs and/or Republicans with a semi-Conservative agenda but refuse to change the air of political corruption plaguing Congress. A lot of fiefdoms would topple among Dems and the GOP Establishment that maintain the power structure of do-nothing to solve budget and debt crises in America (Perhaps there is a suggestion GOP elite response HERE and HERE.)

The first link (other than the CCC link) is to RightOnDaily.com. Before discussing that link here is a very brief description from their about page:

The Right On Daily Blog – is now a collaborative effort of several conservative activists in Placer County. As such, individual identities are not specified.

Please note that the primary purpose of RightOnDaily.com is about exposing fraud in the Republican Party and the agendas of government.

Posted - 2:47 am
Sorry, the comment form is closed at this time.

The Placer County spoken of on the about page has been a Republican Party stronghold for some time with a population of nearly 350,000 people that stretches from near Sacramento to its west to the Nevada border on its east. So for clarification’s sake it is true to say that RightOnDaily.com supports a Conservative agenda.

Aaron F. Park authored the post of the critical information of various Tea Party organizations of which the TPX lineage is also included. The post is entitled “Finally! National Exposure “Tea Party” PAC’s exposed for the frauds they are…” Park quotes a story that he only identifies as MSM so I am unsure of the actual source:

Three well-known groups — the Tea Party Patriots, the Tea Party Express and the Madison Project — have spent 5 percent or less of their money directly on election-related activity during this election cycle. Two other prominent tea party groups, the Senate Conservatives Fund and FreedomWorks, have devoted about 40 percent of their money to direct candidate support such as ads and yard signs.

On average, super PACs had spent 64 percent of their funds on directly helping candidates by roughly this stage in the 2012 election cycle, according to Federal Election Commission data.

I have a limited familiarity with the Tea Party Patriots and the Senate Fund so I will let them off the hook with my thoughts. The accusation that the TPX (and probably related affiliates) have only spent 5% of their donations on “election related activity” as compared to the 40% or the larger 64% is quite the accusation.

It took some random Googling to stumble upon the article that Aaron Park spoke of. I was not surprised the article was in the Washington Post written by Matea Gold. The article written by Ms. Gold is entitled “Tea party PACs reap money for midterms, but spend little on candidates”. Gold’s article is probably more fodder for Establishment Republicans than for Dems. If the Dems overtly and specifically criticize the fiscal management of Tea Party organizations, there is a good chance blow back on Dem campaign tactics like ballot stuffing of ineligible voters (e.g. Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck and dead people etc.) and more nefarious practices by Community activist Dem or Leftist PACs. Leftist PACs campaign practices go way beyond pouring money into individual Dem candidates and would dwarf any significance to any fiscal mismanagement Gold accuses Tea Party organizations of.

I found a Hot Air article which tries to be even handed but in my opinion leans toward Establishment favoritism managed a fair and balanced quote from Sal Russo of the Tea Party Express that places Gold’s statistics in a better perspective:

The Tea Party Express, a PAC run out of Sacramento by longtime Republican consultant Sal Russo, has paid Russo’s firm $2.75 million since the beginning of 2013, while donating just $45,000 to candidates and spending less than $162,000 on ads and bus tours supporting their election.

Russo said that figure was misleading because most of the payments to his firm were reimbursements for the cost of staffing the elaborate bus tours and rallies that the group holds around the country.

“Everything goes on our credit card,” he said. “Sometimes there’s up to 45 people that we’ve got to feed and house.”

Those activities, while not explicit political expenditures, give a bigger return than expensive television ads, Russo said. (WaPo: Tea Party PACs spend most of their cash on themselves; By Ed Morrissey; Hot Air; 4/28/14 2:01 PM)

It sounds to me like Russo is saying TPX spends most of its money on grass roots organizing. HELLO! Building grass roots voters is what will build a strong voting bloc. Ultimately rallies and meetings spreading the Conservative message of fair taxes, less government, fiscal responsibility and constitutional Originalism. People that vote for a political party out of a family heritage, Union pressures or popularity due to name recognition are typically ignorant voters. Committed Leftists know what they are voting for and will mislead the young, the minorities and the elderly based on government hand-outs. This group of people may not realize they are voting for bigger taxes, bigger and more intrusive government, the delusion that a fetus is a part of a person’s body like an appendix and an immoral society. Tea Party voters know they are voting for Conservative principles. Now it may be true that many Tea Partiers may disagree on certain degrees of Social Conservatism yet it is my sense Social Liberal values is a minority while Social Conservative values is more the norm.

The grass roots nature of the Tea Party Movement is more than the solidifying the Conservative like-minded. Grass roots also means educating voters. A knowledgeable voter can make up their mind based on what they know rather than what they are told in America’s voting system. In this grass roots vein, a highly organized Tea Party organization like TPX and affiliates will benefit real Conservative candidates in the long run. This will irritate the odd GOP Establishment political spectrum of Left leaning RINOs through slanted Right Republicans that may talk a good Conservative game but vote to not rock the political boat.

It is these GOP Establishment types that utilize the journalism of WaPo’s journalist Matea Gold to slam various Tea Party organizations by warping statistics to imply personal pocketing of donations. Now I can see the comeback for my assertion might be something like, “So why do these Tea Party leaders pay themselves big salaries and pay their own private businesses for product and services rendered to their Tea Party PAC organization?”

Well let’s see. We live in America. America is a Capitalist entrepreneurial system. It may nepotistic for a politician to influence taxpayer money to their own business or to a business that benefits a family member, but PAC is private funding. There is nothing wrong with using your own business to provide goods and services for a non-taxpayer funded PAC. Dear god! If you can help with sourcing a political agenda you believe in more power to you. I mean billionaire George Soros has his money in so many PACs I’d have to Google a list to find them all. Old Soros has bought into the Leftist transformation of society whole sale steer voters to his way of thinking. Do you think Soros might own something that benefits from providing goods and services to one of the Leftist PAC organizations? It may be more difficult to discover because Soros is a billionaire that supports a society that will eliminate the wealthy that disagrees with a Left a wing utopian society. He makes the same kind of money he derides the wealthy for. So Soros uses shell companies that own shell companies that own companies which own another company. That makes it difficult to trace the power behind the money to a Left Wing PAC.

So what if a Tea Party leader is not trying to hide his personal involvement for what he believes in, right?

But then there are other Conservatives and Tea Party organizations that view doing business with yourself as a sign of corruption. In asking why I can only speculate. Conservatives like Aaron Park representing a Conservative organization like RightOnDaily.com might be displaying a legitimate even if misguiding suspicion. The term “misguided” is best description I can give of a legitimate Conservative criticizing another legitimate Conservative’s financial methods. Disagreement with the organizational management might be irritating, but I would hesitate to smear a fellow Conservative with nefarious financial practices. Business decisions don’t always work out for the person that may lose a profit to another business. I’m just speculating in Park’s case but perhaps he had a bad business transaction, watched a bad business transaction or heard of a bad business transaction by say someone like a TPX leadership person such as Sal Russo which may have rubbed Park the wrong way.

There may be the case of Tea Party organization rivalry as well since the Tea Party Movement is not monolithic. There are the large Tea Party organizations like TPX, but realize most Tea Party organizations are localized by State and even in some cases by County. Connectivity between Tea Party organizations is purely voluntary. If a large organization like TPX plans an event on another local Tea Party organization’s turf and there is disagreement or a lack of agenda coordination, sour grapes are bound to be the produce.

Personally I’d like to see the Tea Party Movement become a little more monolithic perhaps even as a political party to eliminate the Establishment portion of the GOP. But that is just me. I suspect a large number of Tea Parties have an affinity to the local independence of a Tea Party organization to push the Conservative agenda that is relevant to the locality. National issues often do not equate well with a local issue.

For an Op/Ed article to WaPo’s Gold article, a very good perspective defending how a Tea Party’s fiscal spending agenda can be found at the Tea Party News Network (TPNN) by Greg Campbell entitled “The Left Simply Doesn’t Get it: WaPo Slams Tea Party for Grassroots Commitment”. In that Op/Ed Campbell quotes a great thought from Sal Russo:

“All of the tea party Senate victories over the last two cycles have been candidates who had strong grassroots support, but were outspent by their establishment opponents.  The facts are there, but the Washington mentality refuses to see reality.  In 2010, when we didn’t have a presidential nominee to dominate the messaging, we won 10 straight Senate primaries for the underdog who was out-spent by the establishment.  So it obviously shows that good campaigns that are adequately finance with grassroots support can consistently beat big-spending establishment candidates.

They obviously ignore the fact that most of our activity is not allocable to specific candidates under the FEC laws and regulations.  When we do rallies and encourage people who either attend, see us on the internet or in the media to get engaged in the political process, it has a profound effect on the election, but it is not reportable as a direct expenditure.  If they are right that engaging people in the political process is irrelevant, why does the establishment spend millions of dollars to defeat tea party candidates?”

Ryan Gill of TPX affiliate CCC wrote an email pertaining to that short paragraph I had written on May 26 that informed readers to be cognizant before donating to CCC. That email was a reassurance that there was no hanky-panky going on at CCC. Ryan didn’t go into specifics about those reassurances. I discovered those reassurances in studying for this post. I had asked for permission to post Mr. Gill’s email. Mr. Gill responded to my permission request with this email sent on June 1:

I was a little non-specific in my email to you just because I just wanted to reassure you and let you know I can answer questions. But sure, you're welcome to post it and I'd be happy to see your readers reassured as well. Thanks.

Being typically behind in reading my emails I did not get to Mr. Gill’s permission email until June 10. So I decided to investigate the opposite of “non-specific” before I posted Mr. Gill’s original reassurance.

I am reassured.

Below is the reassurance email. I originally intended to lead off with, but I thought it better to write what I discovered first.

Just saw your post with lengthy disclaimer about CCC and wanted to reassure you that we really value the contributions people make and we're proud of how we're able to use those funds to be effective on behalf of the conservative movement.

Of course there's a lot of confusing and sometimes misleading information out there and it's often convenient for liberal reporters or others not to dig deeper and actually find out what's going on. So I appreciate that you want to do your due diligence and you want readers to be apprised. So it's a constant battle for us explaining what we do, how and why...and often to people who have already decided that they just don't like us or what we do.

So I just wanted to reassure you about our organization and efforts and make sure you know that I'm available to answer questions (though I may be slow at times) if there's something you don't understand.

And of course: thanks so much for sharing our email and for all the good work you do! We're glad you're out there.

Ducking from the Truth

Agenda- Homo Plan Change America
Mark Alexander of The Patriot Post tackles the Left Wing usage of the tool of the Homosexual Agenda used to depreciate Christianity and Biblical Morality in order to transform society into a Leftist Utopia. This is a subject that is nearly if not totally ignored by the Mainstream Media and unfortunately the leading Conservative pundits in America. Why? The ungodly union of Leftist Transformationism and the Homosexual Agenda have successfully managed the narrative that defending Biblical Morality is bigotry as well as giving Homosexual activism the aegis of the destruction of Religious Liberty.

Ducking from the Truth
The 'Gay Agenda' v. Liberty

By Mark Alexander
January 8, 2014

Let us with caution indulge the supposition that morality can be maintained without religion. Whatever may be conceded to the influence of refined education on minds of peculiar structure, reason and experience both forbid us to expect that national morality can prevail in exclusion of religious principle.” –George Washington (Farewell Address, 1796)

For five decades, a relentless and insidious campaign to undermine faith and family, the foundational tenets of our Republic, has been on the rise. With the 2008 election of Barack Hussein Obama, the most faith-intolerant regime in the history of our Republic, the growth of that campaign has become a malignant battle for the hearts and minds of American voters.

Most of the participants in this battle are unwitting pawns of the political Left, believing that they are simply supporting individual rights. In reality, they are systematically eroding the ground beneath the two most critical pillars of Liberty: faith and family. In the end, the inevitable and irrevocable terminus of these actions is tyranny.

Though social research organizations consistently find that those with gender identity issues make up less than 3% of the population, that tiny minority has become the most vociferous enemy of faith and family – and has rallied a substantial political constituency. For that reason, few social and political commentators will even venture into this arena, fearing public vilification and removal of their public platform by Leftmedia print and TV outlets under pressure from weak-kneed advertisers.

No such fear here, but as a prerequisite for this analysis, let it be stated clearly that the central government has no constitutional authority to regulate sexual activity between consenting adults. However, our Republic most assuredly has a stake in protecting religious Liberty, and marriage as defined by the Laws of Nature.

The first target of the Left and their homosexual agenda constituency is the first clause of the First Amendment to our Constitution, which states simply, “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof…”

That succinct proscription notwithstanding, Leftist judicial supremacists, who occupy what Thomas Jefferson called “the Despotic Branch,” have adulterated the plain language of that clause to greatly suppress the free exercise of Liberty across the nation. They have succeeded in large measure to supplant Rule of Law with the rule of men – the rule of egocentric executives and legislators who believe they are the font of wisdom sufficient for ruling over their subjects.

The second pillar of Liberty targeted by the Left is the family – beginning with marriage. In the words of Justice Joseph Story, “Marriage is … in its origin, a contract of natural law. … It is the parent, and not the child of society; the source of civility and a sort of seminary of the republic.”

As you recall, in 2008 candidate Obama himself feigned disdain for same-sex marriage and asserted a pretense of faith: “I believe that marriage is the union between a man and a woman. Now, for me as a Christian … it is also a sacred union. God’s in the mix. … I am not somebody who promotes same-sex marriage.” Of course, that was just another bald-faced election-year lie. A full 12 years earlier, while running for Illinois State Senate, Obama said this: “I favor legalizing same-sex marriages, and would fight efforts to prohibit such marriages.”

Obama’s expressed sentiment therefore lasted only as long as the campaign. No sooner had he been elected than he began a concerted effort to undermine marriage by promoting “gay rights.” Most notably in 2010, just weeks before the “Tea Party Republicans” who had decimated the Democrats in the 2010 midterm elections took control of the House, Obama signed last-minute legislation overturning the Clinton-era policy of “Don’t Ask Don’t Tell,” thus subjecting military ranks to overt homosexuality.

What Leftist politicos understand, but most of their constituents do not, is that the deconstruction of religious Liberty and the family, starting with the redefinition of marriage, will ultimately result in the rise of an oppressive and dictatorial successor.

Occasionally, the Left attempts to merge both its assault on religious Liberty and upon the family into one battle, endeavoring to kill two birds with one stone – the first being the “Natural Law” contract of marriage, and the second being the objection to homosexuality by every religion on the planet.

Such was the case in May 2012, when homosexual advocates managed a successful coup d'état against one of the most faith- and family-centered organizations in the nation – the Boy Scouts of America – opening the door for homosexual members in order to open the next door for homosexual leaders.

Emboldened by that success, they began a national campaign to target Christian-owned pro-family businesses – small and large – endeavoring to break their support for marriage by way of legal injunctions against their expression of their faith. Finally, the coercive “gay lobby” campaign met its match.

A very high-profile failure was the homosexual assault on Chick-fil-A due to CEO Dan Cathy, and his very vocal Christian affirmation of faith and family. Cathy’s rejection of so-called “gay marriage” was the catalyst for an attempted national boycott against the restaurant chain, but the result was an outpouring of support for Chick-fil-A.

But homosexual advocates suffered a far more spectacular defeat just last month, as you undoubtedly heard, when the Arts and Entertainment network attempted to expel the patriarch of one of the most successful cable television programs in history, solely due to his expression of faith and support for marriage and family in a GQ magazine profile.

The details of the A&E defeat provide a useful case study in “David and Goliath” politics – grassroots activism versus huge media and political adversaries.

Phil Robertson, who heads the popular Duck Dynasty clan featured on A&E, was asked by GQ editors about sin and repentance, and he responded with a paraphrase from 1 Corinthians 6: “Don’t be deceived. Neither the adulterers, the idolaters, the male prostitutes, the homosexual offenders, the greedy, the drunkards, the slanderers, the swindlers – they won’t inherit the kingdom of God. Don’t deceive yourself. It’s not right.” Robertson added a few comments considered crude by “cultured” leftists, but reflective of the provincial language of his Louisiana culture.

As soon as the article was published online, Robertson was attacked by the two most influential national homosexual advocacy organizations – the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation and the so-called “Human Rights” Campaign – for making “anti-gay remarks” in the GQ magazine profile. Typical of how Robertson’s remarks were framed are these pathetic pontifications from GLAAD spokesman Wilson Cruz: “Phil and his family claim to be Christian, but Phil’s lies about an entire community fly in the face of what true Christians believe. Phil’s decision to push vile and extreme stereotypes is a stain on A&E and his sponsors who now need to re-examine their ties to someone with such public disdain for LGBT people and families.”

A&E, which previously asked the Robertson family to reduce its show’s references to guns and closing with prayer – requests the Robertsons refused – swiftly expelled Phil, noting, “His personal views in no way reflect those of A&E Networks, who have always been strong supporters and champions of the LGBT community.”

Within days of A&E’s decision, Sandra Cochran, CEO of Cracker Barrel, one of the largest family restaurant chains in the nation, announced with much fanfare that she was ordering merchandise connected to Phil Robertson removed from their shelves. Cochran noted, “We operate within the ideals of fairness, mutual respect and equal treatment of all people. These ideals are the core of our corporate culture.”

As I wrote Cochran, “Nothing Phil Robertson said offends your ‘corporate culture,’ unless you are offended by the foundational sacrament of marriage between man and woman as defined in the Old and New Testaments of Christian Scripture – and every other major world religion.”

The nation’s largest retailer, Walmart, wisely kept its shelves loaded with Duck Dynasty products.

The execs of A&E, Cracker Barrel and the highest profile homosexual advocacy organizations assumed the rest of the Robertson clan was more invested in their lucrative contracts with A&E than their faith, and their viewers were more invested in the asinine antics of reality shows than the substance and world view of the characters in this particular show.

Bad assumptions. Neither the Robertsons, nor their fans, duck the truth.

In less than 48 hours, Cracker Barrel issued one of the most stunning corporate apologies on record. “When we made the decision to remove and evaluate certain Duck Dynasty items, we offended many of our loyal customers. Our intent was to avoid offending, but that’s just what we’ve done. You flat out told us we were wrong. We listened. Today, we are putting all our Duck Dynasty products back in our stores, and, we apologize for offending you.”

Days later, after Phil Robertson’s family advised the network that they would not go on without their patriarch, A&E folded its hand. Apparently the network execs were more invested in their viewer share revenue than being “strong supporters and champions of the LGBT community.” As some sort of recompense for their gender-confused audience, they announced, “We will use this moment to launch a national public service campaign (PSA) promoting unity, tolerance and acceptance among all people, a message that supports our core values as a company, and the values found in Duck Dynasty.”

This week, the Robertson family announced their new endorsement line of firearms, undoubtedly a source of additional heartburn for A&E.

This resounding defeat of the homosexual lobby is a case study in how grassroots Americans can successfully confront and crush the Left elite. By extension, it is also a strong indication that Patriots across the nation are poised to deliver the same humiliating defeat to leftists in 2014 that they did in 2010.

The bottom line is that a growing number of grassroots Americans recognize that the Chick-fil-A and Duck Dynasty showdowns are not about homosexuals, chickens or ducks, but about the suppression of faith expression and the undermining of Liberty. Phil Robertson is not a bigot, but those who suppress religious Liberty in the name of “tolerance and diversity” certainly are.

Those who support the “gay agenda” certainly think they do so for the right reasons. But they’ve been lulled into thinking that this issue has no overarching implications for the Liberty of future generations. They are wrong.
