Deep State USA

Daniel Gladstein had two comments to Norma Zager’s submission “What Me Worry?” (on the NCCR blog) of which the first I was not on board with but the second I thought might deserve some consideration.

The theme of the first comment grouped the Christian Right and Jewish Zionist supporters of the existence of Israel with the same methodology as Islamists, violent Marxists and White Supremacists as one and the same. I did not concur as I explained in these thoughts:

Daniel attaching the Christian Right to Nazis, Leftists, Islamists, the Far Right (I am guessing this would be all forms of white supremacists), Zionist Jews and probably more extremists as simply divergent aspects but the same methodology is not something I concur with. Although there might be a small fraction of the Christian Right that condone violence of any means as a methodology to achieve an end, that small fraction is in NO WAY representative of the entire Christian Right that simply desire a government that doesn’t endorse immorality as a norm, does not force the issue of accepting the practices of an immoral lifestyle and supports the existence of a Jewish State. Admittedly the Christian Right supports the existence of a Jewish State for different reasons than Leftist Jews, Right Wing Jews and Observant Jews. The Christian Right sees the return of Israel as a sign of the times of the soon return of the Messiah King Jesus who will heal whatever divides Jews and Christians on the view point on who the Biblical Messiah is. Jewish Zionists of both sides of the political spectrum view the Jewish State as the restoration of a lost heritage as a place to live without government sponsored persecution of Jews whether secular or religious. Israeli Jews even disagree among themselves of how Israel should be constituted depending on the political spectrum of Left, Right, Secular or religiously observant. However, all Israeli Jews believe Israel must exist for Jews.

So anyway, grouping the Christian Right and Jewish Zionists in toto with Islamists, White Supremacists, Leftist violent extremists and so on is a bit of a bad judgement in my opinion. Otherwise after pondering your other points, including your “deep state” thoughts in your following comment is quite deserving of introspective pondering.

However, I thought his “deep state” thoughts of the second comment might be deserving of some contemplation. Now to add some thought dwelling to Daniel’s second comment I had to look-up what the “deep state” might signify. I went to Wikipedia for a definition:

Deep state

For other uses, see State within a state.

The deep state (Turkishderin devlet) is alleged to be a group of influential anti-democratic coalitions within the Turkish political system, composed of high-level elements within the intelligence services (domestic and foreign), Turkish military, security, judiciary, and mafia.[1][2] The notion of deep state is similar to that of a "state within the state". For those who believe in its existence, the political agenda of the deep state involves an allegiance to nationalismcorporatism, and state interests. Violence and other means of pressure have historically been employed in a largely covert manner to manipulate political and economic elites and ensure specific interests are met within the seemingly democratic framework of the political landscape.[3][4] Former president Süleyman Demirel says that the outlook and behavior of the (predominantly military) elites who constitute the deep state, and work to uphold national interests, are shaped by an entrenched belief, dating to the fall of the Ottoman Empire, that the country is always "on the brink".[5]

The ideology of the deep state is seen by leftists as being anti-worker or ultra-nationalist; by Islamists as being anti-Islamic and secularist; by ethnic Kurds as being anti-Kurdish, and by liberal democrats as anti-democratic and anti-liberal.[6]As pointed out by former prime minister Bülent Ecevit, the diversity of opinion reflects a disagreement over what constitutes the deep state.[7] One explanation is that the "deep state" is not an alliance, but the sum of several groups that antagonistically work behind the scenes, each in pursuit of its own agenda.[8][9][10]Another explanation refutes the reduction of the deep state to an interest network and defines it as a type of domination based on the high military autonomy levels that enable the security apparatus to disrupt formal democratic institutions (in the foreground) by employing a sui generis repertoire of informal institutions (in the background), i.e. putsch threat, autocratic cliques, mafia, organized crime and corruption.[11] Rumours of the deep state have been widespread in Turkey since Ecevit's term as prime minister in the 1970s, after his revelation of the existence of a Turkish counterpart to Italy's Operation Gladio, the "Counter-Guerrilla".[12][13]

Many Turks, including elected politicians, have stated their belief that the "deep state" exists.[14][15]

More recently, the term 'deep state' has been used to describe politics in other nations including Egypt[16] and the United States.[17]

READ THE REST (Deep state; Wikipedia; page was last modified on 7 July 2016, at 19:13.)

So the author of the above Wikipedia article uses the now extinct Ottoman Empire which was replaced by the secular republic of Turkey as platform for the existence of shadow governments within various major powers of the present. Then the Wikipedia author goes into the details of the Turkish evolution of this Deep State apparatus,

There is little elaboration of Deep State operations in various other nations such as the USA. Nevertheless, it is not a big stretch that there is an insinuation of a coalition Deep State entities globally that wheel and deal clandestine agreements and rivalries outside the structure of the rule of law. To what purpose? To leverage global domination for the winners.

Armed with this info you should tackle Daniel Gladstein’s thoughts in his second comment.

Daniel Gladstein

The relationship between the Pakistani ISI and the CIA during the Soviet–Afghan War (1979–92) and the ensuing civil war (1992–2001) illustrates the delicate balance between cooperative competitors that nevertheless view each other, or at least one side, as a credulous enemy to be deceived and exploited, ostensibly for the stated purposes of anti-Soviet coordination, but actually for divergent goals. The CIA funneled aid to ISI and its Saudi allies, which in turn employed favored groups, namely Sunni (and especially Arab rather than Afghan) Islamists, as anti-Soviet proxies. However, the real goal of these Islamists, especially the Arab “volunteers,” was to usurp the credibility of their anti-Soviet rivals, who were often more capable fighters, came from ethnic minorities rather than the Pashtun tribes, and, like all Afghans, were non-Arabs. Despite this, the CIA and ISI tapped the Islamists, in particular for drug-running operations and opium production.

The CIA-, ISI-, and Saudi-favored groups accrued more aid and weaponry, including surface-to-air missiles, than their competitors did, yet did less fighting over a shorter period. The Arab “volunteers,” in particular, saw the U.S., Israel, and the al-Saud family, rather than the Soviets, as their main enemies. These “volunteers” later formed the initial core of al-Qaeda, which, through its links to wealthy patrons, had extensive financial and ideological links to the Muslim Brotherhood. The Muslim Brotherhood, while Sunni, was tied to the unorthodox Shiite ideology of the Ayatollah Khomeini, who sought an alliance with Sunni Arabs to ensure Iranian hegemony in the Middle East. (It should be noted that, early in the Iranian Revolution, Khomeini and his domestic allies, both Islamist and radical leftist, saw the Soviets as a potential ally against U.S.-backed Sunni regimes—and a weapon to overthrow the U.S.-led order in the Middle East.)

Khomeini was a visionary revolutionist who envisaged an Islamist coalition to co-opt secular leftists and unite under the banner of anti-Americanism, anti-Zionism, and anti-imperialism. This goal would find ready recipients in Yasser Arafat’s secular PLO, non-aligned but revolutionary Marxist states like Castro’s Cuba (and its late ally, Hugo Chávez’s Venezuela), the unstable Stalinist regime of East Germany, and Soviet clients like Gaddafi’s Libya, which sponsored pan-African, anti-colonialist, and anti-apartheid movements. These were often anti-Zionist and were generally tied to ostensibly progressive elements in the Western New Left, including radical, Maoist-inspired communists. (All these elements, including the radical leftist MEK [which later became a CIA/Iraqi proxy in the Iran–Iraq War], may have aided Khomeini’s faction in the takeover of the U.S. embassy in Tehran.)

Thus the Muslim Brotherhood/al-Qaeda milieu, which derived its ideology from far-right fascist movements rather than traditional Islam, aimed to amass the forces of the left, the apostate Shiites (now reformed under the unorthodox, pro-Sunni Khomeini), and the KGB and its global allies. Their aim was nothing less than the total destruction of the U.S., Israel, and the existing regional order. The Muslim world, formerly diverse, would be Arabized and homogenized under the guide of the Muslim Brotherhood and its allies, which would include both the Soviet and Western blocs. Once the Brotherhood’s global order was established, it would dispense with the ostensibly leftist elements, their usefulness in destroying the West (and the old Muslim world) exhausted. However, in the meantime, its role in polarizing the world by intervening in and fostering local conflicts would be indispensable, and could be readily exploited by an opportunistic but nominally opposing side.

Note that the U.S. deep state and its allies would play an indispensable role in fostering and exploiting its ostensible enemies. The heterogeneity of the forces at work would indicate numerous centers of power, colluding with each other where interests overlap but ultimately aiming to destroy or control the other. The continual appearance of links between ostensibly “conservative,” and avowed far-right, U.S. deep-state constituents and far-left anti-Western forces, as well as the considerable overlap in their views and aims, is too pervasive to attribute to mere coincidence, especially given each side’s ties to global finance, including the public sphere (i.e., banks, leading financial and political institutions, universities, NGOs) and the underworld drug/arms networks, which utilize fronts and false paper or electronic trails to avoid scrutiny, much less a full uncovering of their activities.

An example is the milieu of James J. Angleton, CIA counterintelligence director, who knowingly recruited KGB double agents to spread disinformation that would serve both Soviet and U.S. deep-state hardliners, whose shared interest was to further the Cold War, which Angleton likely calculated would benefit his (ultimately anti-American and nominally anticommunist) right-wing Mafia, Teamster, and drug-running connections, all of which were organically linked to fascist, Nazi, and neo-Nazi elements in post-war Europe, East Asia, and Latin America. (Note that many of these right-wing elements were associated with stay-behind networks established by NATO and Western intelligence, as part of Operation GLADIO, an early Cold-War effort to foster local anti-Soviet forces in the event of a Soviet military incursion into Western Europe and the Mediterranean. These forces soon strayed beyond their masters’ intentions, became enmeshed in local and regional political structures, and pursued their own interests through the drugs-and-arms milieu, often while under the patronage of both Western and Soviet-allied intelligence agencies.)

Note that elements of the CIA and its right-wing GOP allies have patronized “former” KGB-linked Marxist-Leninists turned Revisionist Zionists [i.e., in the right-wing, fascist-leaning Jabotinsky mold] within the Russian Jewish émigré community in Israel. These “defectors” were tapped as CIA assets with access to CIA-favored elites within the Soviet bureaucracy, who in turn would serve as dependable U.S. assets in a post-Soviet Russia, thereby benefiting the U.S. deep state’s economic interests. They would also form the nucleus of the CIA-assisted takeover of the State of Israel by the CIA-favored Netanyahu faction within Likud. They became favorites of the neoconservative WASP elite, its allies in the military-industrial-intelligence complex, and its far-right affiliates in the U.S. and abroad. One example of the neoconservative–communist nexus can be seen in the actions of Oliver North and Shackley, who were deeply involved, as were anti-Obama GOP rightists who coordinated their activities with Iranian hardliners, in treasonous activities with ostensible U.S. enemies.

North and Shackley, among others, likely worked with drug-laundering Saudi and Pakistani intelligence, and operated partly through the Safari Club, in what were likely joint Western/Soviet intelligence operations promoting Khomeini to power in Iran, supporting Iranian proxies like Hezbollah, and orchestrating the hostage crisis to beset President Carter (the so-called “October Surprise”). North, Shackley, and their allies hoped to benefit Western, especially British, multinational oil corporations by ousting the friendly Shah when his opposition to a deal, like Mossadegh’s in 1953, became inconvenient. (The BBC aired the British government’s unstated official policy by broadcasting Khomeini’s virulently anti-Shah and anti-Western speeches while he was still in exile.) Indeed, North and Shackley, who were both implicated in the Iran–Contra affair, were in the milieu of Israeli and other Western firms, like Halliburton, that secretly circumnavigated the official “freeze” on U.S.–Iranian ties by conducting oil (and, as we know, arms) deals with the revolutionary Khomeini regime. In return, the oil and arm transfers were covertly used to fund U.S. deep-state and Western intelligence, especially CIA, operations in sub-Saharan Africa and Central America, and probably in Afghanistan and Eastern Europe as well. These operations benefited the global arms-and-drugs milieu that the U.S. deep state and its ostensible opponents both exploited for divergent aims, though immediate goals, especially systematic (and systemic) destabilization, overlapped.

The milieu of cooperation can be seen in the formation of front companies like Far West, Ltd., which was composed of motley and seemingly irreconcilable characters: CIA operatives; KGB and GRU (Soviet military intelligence) figures who were then serving in Afghanistan; Stasi, (Cuban) DGI/G2, and (future pro-Chávez, Venezuelan) DICIP operatives; top officials from the Sunni Gulf states and Saudi Arabia as well as Pakistan; Chinese executives who ran shell companies to arm the Afghan mujahideen; and corporate figures from various Western companies. Other states on each side of the Iron Curtain, such as South Africa and Libya, may well have been involved as well. All the players had divergent aims but shared goals.

This alliance between former Soviet Marxist-Leninists-turned-neo-Nazi (or fascist) Russian nationalists and the U.S. deep state, as we shall see, is part of a broader long-term “convergence” strategy by global elites that transcends the ideological fiction that they present to various levels of the societies that they rule internally (and influence or control externally, often for the purpose of building alliances on the basis of shared goals). The Muslim Brotherhood and Sunni takfiris are closely allied not only to Western intelligence, but also to anti-Western proxies, domestic “leftist” groups, and anti-U.S. intelligence agencies. The pro-Islamist “leftists” may in fact be provocateurs for the U.S. deep state as well as anti-U.S. forces. The groups that they inhabit or control may be infiltrated by Western intelligence agencies and their contractors, whose allies in the media, the corporate world, and societal institutions—both on the “left” and on the “right”—have either openly supported Sunni (and Iranian-linked, or Khomeini/Khamenei-type, Shiite) Islamists or marginalized secular Muslims and true progressives.

Thus the narrative is shaped by phased indoctrination through a dialectical paradigm: secularists are branded by the “right” as supporting Islamists and/or Islamic extremism (either takfiri or Shiite violence, often in the form of terrorism), while the “left” expresses overtly what the “right” does more covertly, namely, support for Islamist forces. The “left,” unlike the “right,” does so ostensibly in the name of leftist tropes like “anti-imperialism,” anti-capitalism, or anti-globalization. Its actions are explained away as an outreach to build a coalition, a strange and not coincidental echo of the U.S. GOP right’s own “ethnic outreach” (far-right identity politics) during and after World War II, which was modulated through Nazi and fascist channels that were eventually tapped for use in the Cold War, both domestically and abroad.

Intro to Pakistan ISI is a Terror Organization

John R. Houk, Editor
Intro © May 9, 2016

Pakistan’s spy organization known as Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) is doing something that at the very least, Counterjihad writers had guessed at since the USA invaded Afghanistan for providing safe haven for al Qaeda’s Usama bin Laden. Namely, that the ISI has been providing material support to Islamic terrorist organizations that are still attacking American troops in Afghanistan. For that matter the same Islamic terrorist organizations that have been slaughtering Christians living in Pakistan.

Even worse, the American CIA and other NATO nations that have been involved in fighting in Afghanistan has had full knowledge of ISI activities against the Afghan government and NATO troops led by America. THINK ABOUT IT! That means the ISI has been operating with impunity against the USA without consequences. After all we went after the Taliban and al Qaeda in Afghanistan because of the Islamic terrorist attack on American soil on September 11, 2001.

I don’t know how far back the USA has had full knowledge of ISI activities, but shame on President Bush if his Administration was privy to anti-American ISI activities while Pakistan was pretending to be the USA’s partner against Muslim war criminals. It does not surprise me about the Obama Administration cooperating with the ISI and so by extension with Islamic terrorists shooting at American troops. Obama has done all he can to screw up any formal victory against Islamic terrorism with wishy-washy policy decisions from day one of his time in Office. AND that includes reducing America’s military capabilities to its lowest levels since before WWII!

Pakistani Military's Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) Is A Terror Organization:
Column By MEMRI Scholar In Hindi Daily

By Tufail Ahmad
May 8, 2016

In a column, MEMRI South Asia Studies Project director Tufail Ahmad discusses the role of the Pakistani military's Inter-Services Intelligence Directorate (ISI) in creating and shielding jihadist terror groups. The column – titled in Hindi "ISI – A Terror Organization" – was published by Dainik Jagran, the largest Hindi-language newspaper in India, on April 27, 2016.

The following is the original English text, from which it was translated into Hindi:

"There is enough publicly available evidence to recognize this fact: the Pakistani military's Inter-Services Intelligence Directorate, known as ISI, is a terrorist organization. While the peoples of India and Afghanistan are aware of the ISI's role in creating, nurturing, shielding and using terror groups, people in the U.S. and Europe are not fully aware of this aspect of ISI. Let's look at the following points.

"One, on April 14, it emerged from a declassified U.S. cable that the ISI had funded the 2009 suicide bombing on the CIA base in Khost, eastern Afghanistan. The 2010 cable noted: 'some funding for Haqqani attacks are still provided by the Pakistan Inter-Services Intelligence Directorate, including $200,000 for the December 30, 2009, attack on the CIA facility [in Khost].' This was the deadliest attack on CIA in history. Haqqani Network is a key unit of the Afghan Taliban which are funded and aided by the ISI. On September 22, 2011, Admiral Mike Mullen, the chairman of the U.S. Joint Chiefs of Staff, told the U.S. Senate: 'Haqqani is veritable arm of Pakistan's ISI.'

"When the cable was declassified, Washington-based journalist Chidanand Rajghatta wrote: 'the sequence of cables detailing the ISI's role in organizing the attack suggests that the U.S. administration lied to the American public about Pakistan being a frontline ally in the War on Terror.'

"Two, in 2007 U.S. military interrogators in Guantanamo Bay classified the ISI as a terrorist group in secret papers. On April 25, 2011, the WikiLeaks revealed those secret papers as per which the U.S. officials had designated the ISI as one of the 32 'militant forces or organizations' with which Al-Qaeda and the Taliban have 'an established working, supportive, or beneficiary relationship for the achievement of common goals.' The ISI was ranked alongside Hamas, Jaish-e-Muhammad and Hezbollah, among others. WikiLeaks also reported that there were plans to explode a nuclear bomb in Europe if Al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden was caught.

"Three, Adnan Rasheed, a leading Taliban commander, is a former employee of Pakistan Air Force (PAF). In an interview with jihadi magazine Azan in 2013, Rasheed revealed that an institution called Idarat-ul-Pakistan was established within the PAF to coordinate jihadi activities across the three branches of the Pakistani military: navy, army and air force. Rasheed also noted that he was sent for training at a camp of Jaish-e-Muhammad led by Maulana Masood Azhar. At the training camp, Adnan Rasheed realized that Jaish-e-Muhammad (JeM) was 'working under the ISI.' He told his boss in the Idarat-ul-Pakistan: 'There is no difference between us and Jaish-e-Muhammad. We are soldiers in uniform and they are soldiers without uniform.' Adnan Rasheed's interview clearly established that Jaish-e-Muhammad is a branch of ISI.

"Four, in mid-2014 a video interview emerged of Shamsh Kashmiri, who was removed from his post as the deputy emir of Jaish-e-Muhammad. Kashmiri had developed differences with the JeM chief Maulana Masood Azar after he refused to order jihad against the Pakistani military following the 2007 army operation in Red Mosque of Islamabad. In the interview, Kashmiri noted: 'We used to think that Jaish-e-Muhammad, Lashkar-e-Taiba, Harkatul Mujahideen, Hizbul Mujahideen, Al-Barq Mujahideen... are purely sincere organizations for jihad... but the Red Mosque operation proved' that 'Our jihad is being done under obedience to ISI.' Even today, Jaish-e-Muhammad is allowed freedom to spread jihadi teachings and publish Haftroza Al-Qalam, a weekly newspaper.

"Shamsh Kashmiri also revealed that when General Pervez Musharraf banned jihadi groups under international pressure, the then ISI chief Lt.-Gen. Pervez Kayani 'instantly decided to double' the monthly salaries to the jihadi groups. As per Kashmiri, JeM was getting 45 lakh [4.5 millioOn] rupees, Lashkar-e-Taiba was given 90 [9 million] lakhs and Hizbul Mujahideen was getting one crore [10 million] rupees. These amounts were raised by Kayani. Kashmiri also noted: "The money that the ISI gives is called operation money... So far as I remember 90 lakhs [9 million] monthly was fixed for Jaish-e-Muhammad." He added: "There is the training center of Jaish-e-Muhammad in Balakot. About 20 to 25 soldiers (of Pakistan Army) are there for their security' and 'It is the duty of one person from every organization to meet ISI people in [the towns of] Muzaffarabad, Kotli and Mansehra on a daily basis.'

"Five, Jaish-e-Muhammad, the ISI and Al-Qaeda have deep relationships between them. Adam Yahiye Gadahn, known as Al-Qaeda's American spokesman, was killed in Waziristan in January 2015. In a detailed interview published posthumously by Resurgence magazine of Al-Qaeda in the Indian Subcontinent (AQIS), Adam Gadahn noted that when he moved from California to Pakistan, he first stayed at the Kuwait Hostel of the International Islamic University, Islamabad. 'Two Pakistani brothers (came) to pick me up from the hostel. They told me they were from the group headed by Maulana Masood Azhar, who was still in an Indian prison.' His statement reveals that Jaish-e-Muhammad is a feeder organization for Al-Qaeda.

"Six, although Al-Qaeda has been led by Arab terrorists, it is fundamentally a Pakistani organization from day one. It was established on the watch of the ISI in Peshawar in 1988 – at a time the ISI had emerged victorious in Afghanistan. It is from Pakistan that Al-Qaeda spread to the Middle East. Al-Qaeda is practically a branch of the ISI, which views itself as the ideological guardian of the Islamic state of Pakistan: both Al-Qaeda and the ISI share the same ideological objective – establishment of the Islamic Caliphate, with the only difference being that ISI wants Pakistan to be the head of such an international caliphate. It was the ISI that protected Osama bin Laden in Abbottabad, as it protected Taliban leader Mullah Omar and continues to protect Maulana Masood Azhar and current Al-Qaeda leader Ayman Al-Zawahiri.

"Currently, the ISI is using the Taliban to launch deadly attacks in Afghanistan in full knowledge of the world powers. On April 19, the Taliban carried out a suicide bombing near the headquarters of an elite Afghan military unit in Kabul, killing 64 people and wounding 300 others. Aided by CIA and Saudi money, the ISI was in full control of jihadi groups in Afghanistan in the 1980s. It remains in full control of jihadi groups in Afghanistan in 2016."

The Project – The Full Glenn Beck Documentary

February 22, 2014

I found this Glenn Beck produced documentary while doing a bit of research The Project which is an agenda formulated by the Muslim Brotherhood to take North America for Islam. You can find various links about this nefarious Muslim Brotherhood plan to erase American culture in the second half of the post “Islam is an Anti-American – Antichrist Religious Cult”. The second half of that post is where the emphasis on The Project is at.

The Glenn Beck documentary link at that post will take you to a disclose.tv version. Although disclose.tv had an embed code, my other blogs reject its usage because they seem to be dominated by an emphasis of Youtube usage. The good news is I found a Youtube version of the documentary and below you can watch the full version.

The Project, by Glenn Beck, covers the infiltration of the United States government and our institutions by the Muslim Brotherhood.

http://www.theblaze.com/theproject/

In 2001, an inconspicuous manifesto now known as "The Project" was recovered during a raid in Switzerland: A manifesto that turned out to be a Muslim roadmap for infiltrating and defeating the West. Today, files containing evidence from the largest terror financing trial in U.S. history, which include details about "The Project", are being withheld by the Department of Justice.

In an explosive two-part mini-series, TheBlaze documentary unit investigates how the Muslim Brotherhood has infiltrated the American government and exposes how our nation's safety is in jeopardy as a result of this dangerous government cover up.

Democratic State or Feudalism

pakistan-blasphemy-protest

Shamim Masih reports that Pakistan’s Prime Minister led an All Parties Conference (APC) initiated on September 9, 2013 to bring a sense of unity in Pakistan by sharing in a dialogue with other political parties on curbing Islamic terrorism. The problem Shamim had with the APC is that the word “All” was a falsehood. Perhaps Prime Minister Mohammad Nawaz Sharif concept of “All” meant all the Sunni Muslim political parties at the exclusion the political parties representative of minorities. Since Shamim is a Christian his disappointment centers on the lack of Christian minority political parties. Shamim compares the minority exclusion to good old fashioned feudalism as in medieval historical governance. Shamim also mentions that Sheikh Rashid Ahmed founder of the Awami Muslim League (AML). The AML’s manifesto (see last link) is still Islamic Supremacist in its principles; however the manifesto decries the discrimination and violence against minorities Pakistan. I suspect Sheikh Rashid Ahmed’s stand to bring more civil rights to Pakistani minorities is the chief reason Shamim mentions him.

Democratic State or Feudalism

By Shamim Masih
Sent: 9/20/2013 4:41 PM

ISLAMABAD: All Parties Conference – APC was held in Prime Minister’s secretariat on Monday 9 September, 2013. Addressing the political leaders at the APC, PM Nawaz Sharif said that he considered dialogue as the priority option to curb terrorism in the country, the solution to address the terrorism issue is sorted out with consensus after thorough deliberations by the participants at APC. He said that it is need of the hour for all political forces in the country to shun politicking on issues of national importance such as terrorism and energy crisis, and join hands to address them unanimously. “We have to rise above politics on some issues and develop a nation consensus for the sake of this country,” said Prime Minister told the political leaders. “If we will continue to take decision with consensus, the people will have more trust on democracy.” Nawaz Sharif said the country’s history witnessed unprecedented smooth democratic transition as the new government took over and a president left the Presidency with honor and prestige.

Later, Director General ISI Lt. Gen. Zaheer ul Islam briefed the participants of the APC on security situation in the country.

It sounds good that the government is interested to take other political parties in confidence while taking decisions in national interest and wanted to join hands with other political forces in the country. In the said conference the government called up the party leadership of his own choice not all political parties’ leadership was invited there. Sheikh Rasheed, the outspoken party head of Awami Muslim League was ignored with few others as well. At the same time, no Christian political party head was invited to APC.

The government should take minorities leadership in confidence while legislation and addressing national issues. Pakistan Christian Congress, All Pakistan Minorities Alliances – APMA, political parties have been struggling for minorities rights for years. Pakistan United Christian Movement, Pakistan Minorities Alliance and few others emerging political parties are passionate to protect non-Muslims’ rights in Pakistan. From decades on no government has ever taken non-Muslims in confidence while addressing national issues or legislation. In the end it results to add in [the] sufferings of minorities, all discriminatory laws are witness to it. Shanti Nager, Gojra, Sangla Hill, Gujranwala and Joseph Colony [Youtube video of Joseph Colony Destruction], Lahore incidents are [the] result of these discriminatory laws. Hundred years old church in Mardan city was turned to ashes. And at the same time, Governor Salman Taseer’s and Shahbaz Bhatti’s assassination was [the] result of hate speech of the cleric.

Pakistan is considered a democratic country but I have not been able to understand its system, there are two electoral systems adopted at the same time in the country. General election system is democratic while selection of reserved seats of minorities and women seats is totally at big political party’s prudence as proportional system. So minority’s members go into the legislative assembly through back doors. It is also reported that they use different means in terms of money or whatever to get in, and the amount very obviously starts in millions.

It is unnatural that these minority members coming in the assembly by paying hi-bribe and [then] talk about minority’s issues. It is reported that one of the previous minority ministers said that I am not here through your votes; you don’t need to expect anything from me, when some Christian visitors asked to solve their issues.

[The] Electoral process in Pakistan needs to be revised. Democracy cannot flourish in a country where a feudal system exists because this system negates democratic system.

Every so often I receive an email from WND advertising products from their bookstore. In cases that I find an interest I post the emails as resource for my readers. In this particular email I direct you to focus on the first item that is advertised. That item is a documentary entitled, “Homegrown Jihad: The Terrorist Camps Around the U.S. (DVD)”.

Homegrown Jihad documents Islamic conclaves that operate as training camps and/or bastions of Islamic terrorism. There are many affiliated Islamic terrorist affiliated organizations implanted in America. The documentary focuses on Islamic camps that pay homage to the Pakistani Islamic terrorists affiliated with Jamaat ul-Fuqra.

Below is an excerpt from a source independent of WND for a glimpse of Jamaat ul-Fuqra:

Formation

Jamaat ul-Fuqra (JF) or "community of the impoverished", a terrorist outfit operating in Pakistan and North America, was formed by a Pakistani cleric, Sheikh Mubarak Ali Gilani, in New York in 1980, on his first visit to the US. Mubarak Gilani's intention in forming the outfit was to 'purify' Islam through violence.

Ideology, Leadership and Structure

The JF, in its early phase, sought to counter what is perceived as excessive Western influence on Islam. It also concluded that violence was a significant aspect in its quest to purify Islam. In its ideological moorings, the Fuqra regards as enemies of Islam all those who do not follow the tenets of Islam as laid out in the Koran, including those Muslims who they consider as heretics as well as non-Muslims. One of Gilani’s works published by the Quranic Open University in the US and seized in a 1991-investigation instructed his cadres that their foremost duty was to wage Jehad against the ‘oppressors of Muslims’. Members of the group are described as Islamist extremists with much hatred toward their ‘enemies’.

The JF is loosely structured with certain elements working openly through social service organisations to recruit members, raise money, organise activities and carry out propaganda. Individuals selected to live on JF premises agree to abide by the law and discipline of the Jamaat ul-Fuqra. Investigations by the Colorado Attorney General's Office in the 1980s indicated that the JF was composed of approximately 30 different 'Jamaats' or communities, more or less mobile in nature. Most of these 'Jamaats' are reportedly existent even today along with what investigators discerned to be several covert paramilitary training compounds, one of which had been located in a mountainous area near Buena Vista, Colorado prior to the Colorado prosecutions in the mid-1990s.

Within 10 years of its formation, Fuqra's communes in the US attracted many Muslim converts-including some of those recruited in prisons. The JF is said to comprise of some 1,000 to 3,000 members in the US. Secrecy is the hallmark of the outfit and cadres are reportedly well versed in the use of aliases. The Fuqra’s structure is well concealed behind front outfits and consists of a network of safe houses and cells. Furthermore, the JF founder as well as cadres consistently maintain that it does not exist. JF members occasionally travel abroad for ‘paramilitary and survivalist training’ under Gilani's supervision.

Sheikh Mubarak Ali Gilani, who also calls himself the sixth Sultan Ul Faqr, is the chief of JF.

Jamaat ul-Fuqra is headquartered in Hancock, New York.

Areas of Activity and Influence

Although Gilani, the reclusive chief of Fuqra resides in Lahore, Pakistan, most JF cells are located in North America. Fuqra members have purchased isolated rural properties in North America to live as a community ... READ THE REST  (SEE MORE HERE)

Here are some terms that will be helpful to have a greater understanding as you read about the documented put together by Jason Campbell of Christian Action Network:

Muslims of America (AKA Muslims of the Americas – MOA)

Muslims of the Americas (MOA) is a virulently anti-Semitic, Islamic extremist group with ties to Al-Fuqra, a terrorist organization that has carried out firebombings and murders in the United States. MOA claims to have offices in six U.S. cities and Toronto and maintains secluded residential communities in New York, Virginia and California. The group's Web site and e-mails have featured writings by notorious anti-Semites and Holocaust deniers, including Michael Hoffman and former Klansman David Duke.

MOA was founded and is led by the radical Pakistani cleric El Sheikh Sayyid Mubarik Ali Jilani (commonly known as Sheikh Jilani or Sheikh Gilani). Based in Lahore, Pakistan, Jilani established MOA in 1980, after arriving in the United States for the first time. In the 1980s, Jilani, who claims to be a direct descendant of the Prophet Muhammad, actively recruited American Muslims to fight against the Soviet Union in Afghanistan. MOA claims to have offices in six U.S. cities and Toronto, and it maintains secluded residential communities in New York, Virginia, California, and possibly other states. The group also runs a Web site and an e-mail mailing list.

The available evidence strongly suggests that MOA has served as a corporate front for another group founded by Sheik Jilani, the terrorist organization Al-Fuqra, which has committed firebombings and murders on U.S. soil. Both Sheikh Jilani and MOA officials deny that Al-Fuqra even exists, and MOA claims to be a "peaceful" group. READ THE REST

In 1978, Sheikh Mubarak Ali Gilani, a Pakistani citizen, was born, Probably, in the late 40's. He published An introduction to Quranic psychology, which detailed his theories about using the Quran and religious observance to cure certain mental disorders.

In 1980, Mubarak Ali Gilani, who has had long-standing connections with senior ISI officials, arrived to USA to preach in Brooklyn Al Farook Mosque. He founded the Jamaat al-Fukra and the Muslims of the Americas Organization - MOA.

In 1983 he published his translation of the Rauza-Tus-Safa, an influential 15th Century history on the origins of Islam. Mubarak Ali Gilani returned to Pakistan in the late 90s. In Pakistan he affiliated his group, the Jamaat al-fukra, to Jaish-e-Mohammed.

On 01/23/2002, Daniel Pearl was on his way to an interview with Sheiks Mubarak Ali Gilani in Karachi, Pakistan, when he was kidnapped by an ephemeral group which called itselfThe National Movement for the Restoration of PAkistani Sovereignty”.

Sheik Mubarak Ali Gilani was arrested by Pakistani police in the northern city of Rawalpindi and transported to Karachi, State Department officials said. At least a dozen of his followers have also been detained. He was, subsequently, released.

Today (09/2009) Mubarak Ali Gilani is living in Lahore, Pakistan. (See More HERE)

Jihadis training in your neighborhood?Investigator describes setup as infrastructure for attack

One of the investigators who worked on a report about terror training camps operating inside the United States describes the network as no more or less than an infrastructure for attack.

WND previously reported on a documentary called
"Homegrown Jihad: Terrorist Training Camps Around the U.S.," and how it offers evidence that "Muslims of America" operates a series of training camps in the U.S.

Jason Campbell is project manager for the Christian Action Network, which was behind the training camps investigation.

He described for WND some of his visits to the camps, which have been located in New York, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia, Tennessee, South Carolina, Georgia, Alabama, Texas, Oklahoma Michigan, Colorado, California and Washington.

"The one that really gets you concerned is in Georgia," he said. "You go down a road and all of a sudden it's just woods, and there are two roads that go straight down to the camp. It's dark because of the trees. And one of the roads is named Mecca and the other Medina."

Watch the trailer for "Homegrown Jihad: Terrorist Training Camps Around the U.S." and share it with your neighbors, your local police officials and your representatives in Congress.

"If there ever was an infrastructure for terrorism, this is it," he told WND.

He said the camps themselves are in remote areas with few neighbors, and mostly self-sufficient, such as having their own water supply and often food stores. They also are closed to outsiders, with the women sometimes taking off-campus jobs, but little other interaction.

"If you died there, they bury you there," he said. "There are no permits from the Department of Health…"

A video has been created describing the investigation:

Campbell also said the camps he's visited have a mosque and frequently the living conditions are "miserable."

The locations are run by Muslims of the Americas Inc., a tax-exempt organization, and it has been directly linked by court documents to Jamaat ul-Fuqra. The organization operates communes of primarily black, American-born Muslims throughout the U.S. The investigation confirmed members commonly use aliases and intentional spelling variations of their names and routinely deny the existence of Jamaat ul-Fuqra.

Click here to watch the trailer!
The group openly recruits through various social service organizations in the U.S., including the prison system. Members live in compounds where they agree to abide by the laws of Jamaat ul-Fuqra, which are considered to be above local, state and federal authority.

U.S. authorities have probed the group for charges ranging from links to al-Qaida to laundering and funneling money into Pakistan for terrorist activities. The organization supports various terrorist groups operating in Pakistan and Kashmir, and follows Sheikh Mubarak Gilani.

He boasts of conducting "the most advanced training courses in Islamic military warfare."

The jihadist organization is thought to be responsible for nearly 50 attacks on American soil, but the U.S. government refuses to list it among foreign terrorists.

In a recruitment video captured from Gilani's "Soldiers of Allah," Gilani states in English: "We are fighting to destroy the enemy. We are dealing with evil at its roots and its roots are America."

Jamaat ul-Fuqra is thought to have been responsible for the beheading murder of Wall Street Journal reporter Daniel Pearl in Pakistan.

The documentary called "Homegrown Jihad: Terrorist Training Camps Around the U.S." provides compelling evidence of how "Muslims of America" operates, and already has caught the attention of neighbors and local police officials.

Gilani's American headquarters is in Hancock, N.Y., where training is provided to recruits who are later sent to Pakistan for more jihadist paramilitary training, according to law enforcement authorities.

A Justice Department report to law enforcement agencies, prepared in 2006, provides a glimpse into how long Jamaat ul-Fuqra or "Muslims of America" has been operating inside the U.S.: "Over the past two decades, a terrorist group known as Jamaat ul-Fuqra, or 'Community of the Impoverished,' has been linked to multiple murders, bombings and various other felonies throughout the United States and Canada."

Gilani's "communes" are described by law enforcement as "classically structured terrorist cells."

Help spread the word! Watch the trailer for "Homegrown Jihad: Terrorist Training Camps Around the U.S." and share it with your neighbors, your local police officials and your representatives in Congress.

As WND reported, a covert visit to a Jamaat ul-Fuqra encampment in upstate New York by the Northeast Intelligence Network found neighboring residents deeply concerned about military-style training taking place there but frustrated by the lack of attention from federal authorities.

Campbell told WND the compounds raise his concern because of their proximity in Georgia to a prison, in New York to a water supply and other such circumstances.

He said the information about the camps has come from law enforcement sources, from the organization's own investigation, and, tellingly, from information from insiders who have left.

Jihadist who abandoned violence for Christianity

Kamal Saleem was trained in terror starting at age 7 at a PLO assault camp, learning to know and hate his enemies, was indoctrinated in radical Islam on his mother's knee and studied with his father how to despise Christians and Jews.

He's told his story in the book,
"The Blood of Lambs: A Former Terrorist's Memoir of Death and Redemption," as well as in a gripping DVD called "In the Red Chair," where he describes how he used to use his power – all of it – to change the world for Islam.

He dined with Moammar Gadhafi, his website says he served under Yasser Arafat and has Arab royalty in his family tree and he worked as a career mercenary, taking his terror activities worldwide. Ultimately, he was recruited by the Saudi royal family to infiltrate the United States with a campaign of radical Islam.

But Kamal Saleem now has renounced terrorism, adopted a home in America, found Christ and has spoken against terror and radical Islam at universities across the nation.

How could this change happen?

Actually, as he explains of his own life and its changes, it was a severe accident that broke his back and the love of a Jewish man, Jesus, that ultimately put him on the right course.

It is an amazing personal story that every Christian and every American should read:
"The Blood of Lambs: A Former Terrorist's Memoir of Death and Redemption."

"My car was very small and it has a T-top, so when the 18-wheeler broad-sided me, I ejected from car and landed on my head in a mud hole upside down," he recalls.

"I cried out for Allah, but Allah didn't come to save me. I cried, 'Allah where are you?'" Saleem added.

Rescuers, doctors and hospital staff then introduced him to something he had never seen. He says he was shown the unconditional love of God, something that is foreign to Islam.

"In Islam, everything is conditional. For example, in the Quran, there is not one place where Allah says 'I love my people,' not once. The word love is not mentioned in the Quran," Saleem said.

In his surgeon's house, Saleem says he was amazed by the love everyone showed to him. He also says it was in the doctor's house that he also noticed something special about Christian marriage and the treatment of women.

"Women in our (Islamic) culture are nothing. They are equal to the goat or the rug. Her purpose is to be married to her husband to give him pleasure. When a husband marries a wife, he purchases her sexual organs," Saleem said.

Saleem has a warning for the Western world: "Islam is like a cancer. It grows and expands until it eventually consumes and suffocates the host."

He says his knowledge of the Muslim Brotherhood's mission and methods compels him to warn Americans about what is happening under the radar in their own country.

"The Muslim Brotherhood is here specifically to destroy the house of the United States of America and bring about the Islamic House and that's done by the Muslim's hand," Saleem explained.

"And it’s not the just the Muslims who came to the United States for this purpose, but also those they recruited in the United States as Americans and have turned them against this country."
Click here for Kamal Saleem's full story in "The Blood of Lambs: A Former Terrorist's Memoir of Death and Redemption," and click here for the DVD titled "In the Red Chair."
Saleem adds by now Islam even has reached the sanctuaries of Christian churches and campuses of Christian colleges.

"Even in Christian schools today, you find Islamic history professors whose papers are done on the glory of Allah and Islam and Muhammad, right there on Christian universities," Saleem said.

"These guys are the first allies and the best allies to Islam. So, when someone speaks of Islam, they try to destroy the person's character instantly because they (the professor) have become a war machine," Saleem said.

Saleem says one of the most insidious ways jihad and Shariah law is infiltrating the U. S. is through the courts. He cites the recent Florida case in which a judge ordered Shariah law be used to settle a mosque leadership dispute.

"What they're trying to do is fake cases for Islam and these cases are done purposefully. We take an imam, there are two of them. They were fighting against each other and the fight was over a mosque," Saleem explained.

"That is so devious and it is part of the culture of Islamic invasion. These two imams are fighting over a mosque in Florida. Each imam says it belongs to me," Saleem said,

"One says I built it and I raised the funds. The other one says the Wahhabi government put me over here and they're the ones who sent the money. Both of them are right," Saleem continued.

"They went to the Supreme Court in Florida. What happened is that they said this was a Muslim matter and you need to judge us by Islamic Shariah law or you will not understand how these things work," Saleem added.

"Both of them are demanding to be judged by Shariah so now the Supreme Court is learning how Shariah works. So, in turn, they have instilled and indwelt Islamic laws with our laws," Saleem said.

Saleem says that the effort to install Shariah law into the United States should be treated like "any other act of terrorism because they are terrorizing this country."

Saleem says what's happening should be prayed against.

"That's what we need to speak against and pray against because it is the essence of evil." Saleem declared.

See the book Glenn Beck raves about: The Islamic Antichrist

Glenn Beck gave a big boost for an older WND Books product saying Americans should be alarmed over the revelations of "The Islamic Antichrist," in which author Joel Richardson documents the similarities between the "bad guy" of the Bible, the Antichrist, and the "good guy" of the Quran, the Mahdi.

Beck's promotion drove the 2-year-old book all the way up to the top 10 spot in Amazon rankings.

The author of
"The Islamic Antichrist"
contends the Antichrist and the Mahdi are, in fact, the same.

"You have to look at this, really ask yourself, 'Wow, is this true?'" Beck said.

He also cited the Islamic teachings that some Muslims like Iran President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad believe – that they can speed the coming of the Madhi, their end-times savior, by creating chaos, from which they expect him to emerge.

Beck, applying such a belief to Christianity, suggested, "What do you say we go start slaughtering people so Jesus will come back."

Read it for yourself, "The Islamic Antichrist."

Richardson's book discusses his analysis of the Bible's account of the end times and that of the Quran, including his conclusions about the "Antichrist," who is described by the Bible as the ultimate enemy of God and His people, the Jews and Christians. The Mahdi, meanwhile, in Islam is forecast to be someone who comes to establish a worldwide Islamic caliphate.

Following the broadcast, the book's ranking on Amazon shot up, hitting the top 10 among all books only hours later. It was rated No. 1 in books on theology and No. 3 in books on eschatology.

SlantRight Editor: The WND store link was not working at the time of this post (http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=B4e6KyJb2mY). Below is link of an interview between Joel Richardson and Glenn Beck. I am just uncertain if it is the one that WND had in mind:

Beck cited a number of similarities between the prophecies, that of Jesus from the Bible and of the Mahdi in the Islamic tradition.

"You have the bad guy of the Bible, he primarily persecutes God's people, Jews and Christians," Richardson said. Meanwhile the "12th imam," or Islam's Mahdi, "causes Jews and Christians to submit to Islam or be killed."

Both prophecies call for a time of rule of 7 years, a leader of the world who makes peace with Israel, then breaks the accord, then invades Israel and kills nonbelievers, setting up a seat of government on the Temple Mount.

While the biblical Antichrist is evil personified, the culmination of antagonism to God and His word,
Richardson described in a column for WND the Islamic perspective:

"The Mahdi is Islam's primary messiah figure Muslims believe will come at the end of the age to lead Islam to global dominance. Much popular discussion of Mahdism in recent years has inaccurately expressed that belief in the Mahdi is merely a Shia phenomenon. While variances in the details do exist between Sunni and Shia Muslims on this issue, belief in the Mahdi is nevertheless not reserved to one group or the other. Numerous renowned Muslim scholars, Sunni, Sufi and Shia affirm the orthodoxy of belief in the coming of the Mahdi."
Beck noted that the Mahdi story results in a character that is the "polar opposite" of the biblical prophecy, and another guest, Zuhdi Jasser, of the American Islamic Forum for Democracy, agreed.

He described himself as moderate Muslim and said the belief that Muslims can speed the return of their savior is "toxic."

Richardson said, "In both stories, Jesus returns. On the biblical side, Jesus returns to deliver his people from being persecuted. On the Islamic, a Muslim Jesus tells the Christians of the world, 'You've had it wrong all along. I never said God was my father. I never died on the cross.'"

Beck played video of Ahmadinejad repeatedly saying during his speeches, "Oh God, hasten the arrival of Imam al-Madhi and grant him good health and victory."

That, Beck, said is the reason some Muslims seek chaos, and Richardson explained that is because it is from chaos they expect their Madhi to come.

Other commenters included retired Lt. Gen William G. Boykin, who said Iran's activities these days show it is "trying to establish themselves as the leader of the Islamic revolution."

And Richardson had noted in a recent WND column that when Iran launched a surface-to-surface missile, it had the words "Ya Mahdi" emblazoned on its body – the equivalent of "Go Mahdi."

Boykin noted Muslims believe their savior's return can happen only when "bloodshed and chaos" are worldwide.

"What circumstance," he questioned, would bring that about more quickly "than using nuclear weapons against the nation of Israel?"

Media Matters for America launched an immediate response, called, "Who is Joel Richardson, Beck's End Times Prophet?"

It noted that Beck's website has published writings by Richardson, and the author also appears in a new video by Beck that talks about the threat of a nuclear Iran to the U.S. and Israel.

Richardson's book also takes on the popular assumption among Christians that the Antichrist will come from a revived Roman Empire, which many have assumed is associated with the Roman Catholic Church and the European Union.

"The Bible abounds with proofs that the Antichrist's empire will consist only of nations that are, today, Islamic," Richardson explains. "Despite the numerous prevailing arguments for the emergence of a revived European Roman empire as the Antichrist's power base, the specific nations the Bible identifies as comprising his empire are today all Muslim."

Richardson believes the key error of many previous prophecy scholars involves the misinterpretation of a prediction by Daniel to Babylonian King Nebuchadnezzar. Daniel describes the rise and fall of empires of the future, leading to the end times. Western Christians have viewed one of those empires as Rome, when, claims Richardson, Rome never actually conquered Babylon and was thus disqualified as a possibility.

It had to be another empire that rose and fell and rose again that would lead to rule of this "man of sin," described in the Bible. That empire, he says, is the Islamic Empire, which did conquer Babylon and, in fact, rules over it even today.

Those who are unaware of the similarities of the prophecies for the Antichrist and the Mahdi will be stunned by chapters including "Islamic Eschatology," "The Sacred Texts of Islam," "Comparing the Biblical Antichrist and the Mahdi," and "The Dark Nature of Muhammad's Revelations."

The author is a human rights activist, lecturer and artist. He is also the co-author with Walid Shoebat of "God's War on Terror" and co-editor of "Why We Left Islam: Former Muslims speak out."

"Sound, responsible scholarship. A timely breakthrough in biblical eschatology, The Islamic Antichrist presents a captivating paradigm that will profoundly change your perspective on the endtimes."
Jeremy Ray,
Sr. Pastor, Old Washington United Methodist Church, Ohio

"Joel Richardson provides a weighty analysis of Islam and its messianic figure. The Islamic Antichrist is central to recognizing the fulfillment of biblical endtimes prophecy in our day and understanding the role Islam plays in it."
Pastor Reza D. Safa,
former radical Muslim, author of
Inside Islam

Joel Richardson is a human rights activist, lecturer, and artist. Involved in evangelism and ministry to Muslims since 1994, he is the co-author, along with Walid Shoebat, of "God's War on Terror: Islam, Prophecy and the Bible" and co-editor of "Why We Left Islam: Former Muslims Speak Out."

o   You won't believe where Christians in the Middle East are most threatened – Iraq! Find out why in "Facing Extinction: Assyrian Christians in Iraq." Each day thousands of Aramaic-speaking Assyrians (the language of Christ) are enduring unjust persecution because of their Christian Faith. The crew traveled into threatened Christian communities to film the stories in this program. Included is actual footage, filmed by the terrorists themselves, performing acts of violence against innocent Assyrians. The Iraqi government shows no interest in protecting the Christians, the Pentagon is ignoring the situation, and the United States State Department has no mandate allowing Assyrian Christians to immigrate to America. These conditions are the making of another twenty-first century holocaust involving hundreds of thousands of Christians. The future of Assyrian Christians in Iraq rests with us all. Narrated by Jim Caviezel (The Passion of the Christ). Commentary by United States Sen. Carl Levin, Rep. Anna Eshoo, and Rep. Frank Wolf.

o   A new video about the martyrdom of three Christian workers at the hands of Islamic activists in Turkey reveals that while the government's case against the alleged killers continues in turmoil and confusion, the Christian community in the Muslim nation views the tragedy as the will of God. "Malatya," available now as the April 18 fourth anniversary of the deaths approaches, is from Austin Stone Community Church, Voice of the Martyrs and Family Christian Movies. It tells the story of the martyrdom of Necati Aydin, Tilman Geske and Ugur Yuksel. The three, who were working at a Christian publishing house, had agreed to meet with several young Muslim men who expressed interest in the Bible. Authorities have reported the Muslims first demanded that one of the Christians convert to Islam. When he refused, they pulled knives and tied up, tortured and stabbed the Christians for several hours before their throats were slit. WND has reported on the case since the widow of one of the slain Christians created a tidal wave of reaction in Turkey by expressing forgiveness for the attackers. The dramatic video story is available for only $4.95 from the WND Superstore.

o   Then there's the classic "Foxe's Book of Martyrs" updated for the 21st century. You can get it in a beautiful faux leather version for your library, or a more economic paperback edition. For nearly 2,000 years, courageous men and women have been tortured and killed because of their confessions of Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. But martyrdom is not a thing of the past; every day the Christian church is persecuted in countries all over the world. The affliction of Christians was actually more prevalent in the 1900s than in all the past centuries combined. You will get a poignant illustration of these recent martyrs in this book. In addition to the age-old stories of Christian heroes, this updated edition of Foxe's Book of Martyrs contains stories of persecution up to 2001. John Foxe began his memorial of martyrs in 1563. He began with Stephen, the first to die for the cause of Christ, and ended with the most recent martyrs of his day; those killed during the reign of Bloody Mary. Foxe was motivated to write by the fear of forgetting or becoming insensitive to the struggles of the martyrs. He knew that Christians must not overlook the persecution of their brothers and sisters in Christ. For if the Church is not reminded of the cost of following Christ, its very foundations will crumble. The courage, faith, and love of the martyrs will touch your life. For nearly two-thousand years, courageous men and women have been tortured and killed because of their confessions of Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. This updated version includes reports on modern martyrs of the 20th and 21st century, a full color timeline of selected events and people for historical reference, and has been carefully edited into Modern American English for today's reader

o   "First Comes Saturday, Then Comes Sunday" is the award-winning documentary by Pierre Rehov, a French filmmaker known for going where the action is – especially in the dangerous Middle East. Why has there been a great-and-little-reported Christian exodus from the Middle East, with some 2 million fleeing in the past 20 years alone? This Christian exodus is a result of many factors, including the fighting between Israelis and Palestinians, the related decline of the economy, but perhaps most significantly, the religious persecution these Christians encounter from their Muslim neighbors. "First Comes Saturday, Then Comes Sunday" is a well known sentence in the Middle East meaning : "First we take care of the Jews (who pray on Saturday) then we will take care of Christians," the "Sunday people."
