Trump Rises to the Occasion With State of the Union Address

While Pelosi lowers herself even further into the gutter.

Pelosi and the Dems demonstrate the reason to be voted out of Office and out of political existence.

(In full disclosure though – at this point, I am neither a fan of USMCA nor The Deal of the Century. Time will tell if I change my mind on those issues but I suspect not. BUT President Trump represents a thumb in the nose to the Marxist Dems destroying America and that still makes him a hero in my book)

John, did you watch President Trump’s State of the Union Address last night?

It was phenomenal.

President Trump had a message that the Left just could not compete with.

While all they could do was pout and sneer, President Trump delivered a message of accomplishment, leadership and hope.

I’ve said it before: the fight for the future of our country isn’t about Democrats vs. Republicans.

It’s about who stood and applauded for America’s many wins, and who sat there [sic] arms crossed and lips pursed because they hate the man that achieved them more than they love our country or its people.

Please scroll down to read Joseph Klein’s full recap of the State of the Union.

Trump Rises to the Occasion With State of the Union Address
While Pelosi lowers herself even further into the gutter.

Feb 5, 2020

With Nancy Pelosi, the Speaker of the Democrat-controlled House of Representatives, sitting stone-faced behind him for much of the time, President Donald Trump delivered a stirring, upbeat State of the Union address to a joint session of Congress Tuesday night. “I say to the people of our great country and to the members of Congress: the state of our union is stronger than ever before,” the president declared.

President Trump followed Bill Clinton as the second president in U.S. history to have delivered his State of the Union address while impeachment proceedings against him were still ongoing. President Trump delivered his State of the Union address on the eve of his expected Senate acquittal of the two hopelessly partisan articles of impeachment that the House had rushed through its chamber and then delayed sending over to the Senate for weeks.

Like Bill Clinton, President Trump did not lob any recriminations against his political adversaries during his speech. There was no mention of the impeachment ordeal the Democrats had put him and the nation through. Instead, the president extolled what he called “The Great American Comeback” and projected optimism for America’s future.

“America is the place where anything can happen. America is the place where anyone can rise. Here, on this land, on this soil, on this continent, the most incredible dreams come true,” the president said. “The American age, the American epic, the American adventure has only just begun. Our spirit is still young. The sun is still rising. God's grace is still shining. My fellow Americans, the best is yet to come.”

The contrast between President Trump’s positive and unifying vision for America and the Democrats’ hate-Trump doomsday agenda could not be clearer. After President Trump concluded his address with a paean to America’s great spirit and boundless opportunities, Pelosi was seen ripping up the pages of the speech text she had been reading behind President Trump at the podium.

Time and again, Pelosi either sat motionless or shook her head incredulously as the president described how the strong economy under his watch has lifted Americans up from all walks of life and encouraged Congress to work with him to continue building an inclusive economy. “Our agenda is relentlessly pro-worker, pro- family, pro-growth, and, most importantly, pro-American,” President Trump said. “We are advancing with unbridled optimism and lifting our citizens of every race, color, religion and creed very high.”

President Trump singled out the blue-collar boom in particular, evidenced by the fact that the greatest wage gains have gone to the lower end of the income scale. “After decades of flat and falling incomes, wages are rising fast, and wonderfully,” the president said. “They are rising fastest for low-income workers, who have seen a 16% pay increase since my election.”

President Trump noted the historically low levels of unemployment of minorities and women, as well as the overall record of job growth nationwide under his watch. “The unemployment rate for African Americans, Hispanic Americans, and Asian Americans has reached the lowest levels in history,” the president said. “African-American youth unemployment has reached an all-time low. African-American poverty has declined to the lowest rate ever recorded. The unemployment rate for women reached the lowest level in almost 70 years, and last year, women filled 72 percent of all new jobs added.”

In more specific terms, President Trump pointed to the importance to the economy of two key trade deals accomplished by his administration – the phase-one trade agreement with China and the trade agreement with Mexico and Canada known as USMCA that replaced NAFTA. “Fairness and reciprocity” were the president’s pithy description of his key objectives in trade negotiations. “I say that finally, because it has been many years since we were treated fairly on trade.”

President Trump referred to opportunity zones for distressed communities created by the Trump administration under the 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act. “Jobs and investments are pouring into 9,000 previously neglected neighborhoods thanks to opportunity zones,” he said. He noted that under the plan “wealthy companies are pouring money into areas that have not seen investments in many decades, creating jobs, energy, and excitement.” The president singled out an army veteran in the audience, who turned his life around after finding a construction company that had invested in opportunity zones and became a top tradesman.

President Trump extolled America’s energy revolution that has led to energy independence. He also highlighted his support for paid family leave and expanding access to affordable childcare.

President Trump’s State of the Union address included a section on health care. He focused on efforts to reduce drug prices, end surprise medical billing and deal with the opioid epidemic. He repeated his pledge to “always protect patients with preexisting conditions.” He also assured Americans that “we will always protect your Medicare, and we will always protect your Social Security.” Pelosi sat expressionless.

President Trump contrasted his vision for improving the nation’s health care system, including by offering more affordable choices to Americans, with radical socialist proposals. “132 lawmakers in this room have endorsed legislation to impose a socialist takeover of our health care system,” the president warned, “wiping out the health insurance plans of 180 million very happy Americans. “To those watching at home tonight, I want you to know: We will never let socialism destroy American health care.”

In looking ahead, President Trump did not offer a detailed legislative wish list. However, he did make a few significant requests for Congressional action, which (except for his request for more spending on infrastructure and perhaps for more action to dramatically lower the prices of prescription drugs) did not receive much of a positive reception from the Democrat side of the aisle. The president, for example, asked Congress to pass legislation to empower parents with school choice – not exactly what the Democrats beholden to the public teachers’ unions would dare support. “Pass the Education Freedom Scholarships and Opportunities Act,” the president urged, “because no parent should be forced to send their child to a failing government school.” When President Trump asked Congress for additional money to fund high quality childcare, Pelosi neither stood up nor applauded even though that should be something dear to her heart (if she has one).

President Trump did not shy away from the controversial issue of immigration. He sharply criticized the endorsement by over 100 legislators in Congress of legislation “providing free taxpayer-funded health care to millions of illegal aliens, forcing taxpayers to subsidize free care for anyone in the world who unlawfully crosses our borders.” He added, “If forcing American taxpayers to provide free health care to illegal immigrants sounds fair to you, stand with the radical left. If you think we should defend patients and seniors, stand with me to pass legislation to prohibit free health care for illegal aliens.”

President Trump discussed the progress his administration has made in securing the southern border through a multi-pronged approach to the problem that has included more wall construction. “Early next year, we will have substantially more than 500 miles completed,” he predicted after noting that over 100 miles have already been completed.

The president took head-on Congress’s failure to deal effectively with the current loopholes in the immigration system as well as the grave threat to public safety posed by sanctuary cities. He gave specific examples of illegal aliens with prior criminal records who were released into the sanctuary community despite ICE’s detainer requests and went on to commit more horrific crimes. The president mentioned legislation being introduced that will allow families of victims “to sue sanctuary cities and states when a loved one is hurt or killed as a result of these deadly practices.” He added, “The United States of America should be a sanctuary for law-abiding Americans, not criminal aliens.”

President Trump devoted a relatively short portion of his speech to foreign policy, although emphasizing the buildup of America’s military strength.

President Trump acknowledged the presence in the House chamber of Juan Guaido, the man recognized by the United States and other countries as the legitimate interim president of Venezuela. “Please take this message back, that all Americans are united with the Venezuelan people in their righteous struggle for freedom,” President Trump said in addressing Mr. Guaido.

President Trump also focused on the fight against radical Islamic terrorism. “Our message to terrorists is clear: You will never escape American justice,” the president warned. “If you attack our citizens, you forfeit your life.” He also reiterated his maximum pressure policy against the Iranian regime.

President Trump noted his administration’s successes in destroying the ISIS territorial caliphate and killing its blood-thirsty leader, al-Baghdadi. The president also pointed to the killing of the Iranian regime’s leading terrorist, Qasem Soleimani, who had the blood of Americans on his hands and orchestrated the deaths of countless other individuals. “The U.S. military executed a flawless precision strike that killed Soleimani and terminated his evil reign of terror forever,” the president said. President Trump illustrated the human cost of the evil acts committed by al-Baghdadi and Soleimani when he told the stories of two of their victims whose immediate family members were in the House chamber.

Finally, President Trump repeated his call to end American wars in the Middle East and Afghanistan. He praised America’s warriors who, he said, “either want to fight to win or not fight at all.” In a very touching moment that appeared to be a complete surprise to the wife and children of a soldier, Sgt. 1st Class Townsend Williams, who has been in Afghanistan on his fourth deployment, President Trump announced to them as they stood up in the audience that he “is back from deployment. He is here with us tonight.”

There were other emotional moments during the president’s address. Conservative talk radio icon Rush Limbaugh, who disclosed that he has been diagnosed with an advanced case of lung cancer, was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom in person. Charles McGee, one of the last surviving Tuskegee Airmen, the first black fighter pilots, was also present as President Trump noted that he had signed a bill promoting Charles McGee to brigadier general and pinned the stars on his shoulders in the Oval Office.

President Trump commanded the House chamber with one of the greatest speeches of his presidency. Nancy Pelosi, whose impeachment gambit has backfired, looked petty behind him by comparison. She told reporters that tearing up the speech at its conclusion was “the courteous thing to do considering the alternative." What would have been her “alternative”? Handing the president another set of impeachment articles after the first set is about to go down in flames? Pelosi’s disrespectful act says all one needs to know about the depths to which she and her Democrat partisan cohorts like the Schiff-Nadler duo are willing to take the country.

President Donald Trump delivers his 2020 State of the Union Address to a Joint Session of Congress.

President Trump declined to shake the hand of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi before his speech.

The speaker then did not include the customary introduction of: “I have the high privilege and distinct honor of presenting to you the president of the United States.” Instead, she just said, “Members of Congress, the president of the United States.”

After his address, Pelosi ripped up her copy of his speech.

Trump Hot-Miked After SOTU on FISA Memo

John R. Houk, Blog Editor
Posted January 31, 2018

After the State of the Union speech last President Trump was caught on mike telling South Carolina GOP Rep. Duncan that he is 100% behind releasing the FISA Memo to the American people. Whether that Presidential answer was the desire of the President’s heart or an actual made decision, only time will tell.

Published on Jan 30, 2018

President Trump caught on hot Mic on Tuesday after state of the union speech, He guaranteed Rep. Jeff Duncan (R-SC) he’ll release a controversial memo by House Intelligence Committee Chairman Devin Nunes (R-CA).

Below is a Fox News report on the hot mike and that is a computer-generated voice from Youtube channel Today News including the description.

Trump overheard saying he is '100 percent' behind releasing surveillance memo

Rep. Jeff Duncan urges President Trump to 'release the memo' as he exits the House chamber following the State of the Union address.

President Donald Trump was overheard telling a GOP lawmaker Tuesday night that he’s “100 percent” behind releasing a classified Republican intelligence memo detailing alleged surveillance abuses.

"Don't worry," the president reportedly told U.S. Rep. Jeff Duncan, R-S.C., on the House floor after delivering his first State of the Union address. “One hundred percent."

Duncan asked Trump to “release the memo,” a controversial document drafted by U.S. Rep. Devin Nunes, R-Calif., chairman of the House Intelligence Committee.

The House panel voted Monday along party lines to release the memo, prompting a political fight between Republicans and Democrats and pitting Congress against the FBI and the Department of Justice, which object to the release of the four-page document.

Republicans said the memo reveals alleged abuses of government surveillance powers in the investigation into alleged collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia. Democrats said the document is selectively edited in an attempt to thwart the investigation.

House Speaker Paul Ryan came out Tuesday in support of releasing the memo, but warned against using it to attack special counsel Robert Mueller. "This is a completely separate matter from Bob Mueller's investigation and his investigation should be allowed to take its course," he said.

Ryan added that the memo shows “there may have been malfeasance at the FBI by certain individuals” and raise questions “about whether an American's civil liberties were violated by the FISA process,” referring to the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act, which was extended for an additional six years earlier this month.

The Justice Department called the Republican staff memo’s release “unprecedented” and “reckless.” Assistant Attorney General Stephen E. Boyd wrote in a Jan. 24 letter that “Though we are currently unaware of any wrongdoing relating to the FISA process, we agree that any abuse of that system cannot be tolerated.”

Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein and FBI Director Christopher Wray reportedly advised White House Chief of Staff John Kelly against releasing the memo, saying such action would set a dangerous precedent and would not accurately characterize the FBI's investigative practices, the Washington Post reported.

But two senior FBI officials – one from the bureau’s counterintelligence division and the other from the legal division – who reviewed the memo said they “could not point to any factual inaccuracies,” Fox News reported Tuesday.

The White House has five days to review the content of the memo and decide whether to release the memo. It said Tuesday that it would conduct a legal and national security review before making the decision.

The Associated Press contributed to this report.

After President Donald Trump gave his brilliant State of the Union address, he was stopped and asked a question about the FISA memo. His five-word answer has Democrats freaked out, and for good reason.

The House Intelligence Committee voted on Monday, January 29, 2018, to release the FISA memo which many have said will shake the political world to the core. The damning memo has already claimed one deep state operative, former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe. Now, all eyes are on President Trump to see what he will do next with the FISA memo, and the video clip of his departure from the State of the Union address reveals exactly what that is.

According to The Gateway Pundit, President Trump was stopped by Rep. Jeff Duncan (R-SC) on his way out of the House of Representatives building. The first thing on Duncan’s mind was the FISA memo and making sure the President knew that he and others want it released as soon as possible.

In the clip, Duncan can be heard asking Trump if he would release the FISA memo. Trump’s five-word answer is enough for the Democrats to start panicking. “Oh yeah, don’t worry, 100%,” Trump responded. Reportedly, Trump has five days from Monday to decide to release the memo after review. According to comments made by Congressman Trey Gowdy (R-SC) during an interview on Fox & Friends, Trump is not likely to take all five days.

— CSPAN (@cspan) January 31, 2018

In addition to Gowdy’s comments, White House Legislative Director Marc Short spoke with veteran journalist Stuart Varney Tuesday, discussing the most recent developments on the secret FISA memo. “Stuart, I think the president sides on the side of transparency so I think if there were abuses he wants the American people to know it,” he explained.

“But let me be clear that the president can do this in a responsible fashion. We only received the document last night. White House counsel began to review it last night. The National Security Council will be leading the inter-agency process here to make sure no secrets were divulged and no methods were divulged. And, so, it will be done in a very responsible manner,” added Short.

I don’t think President Donald Trump wants to waste any time getting the FISA memo out. Many Republicans have already viewed the memo and urged the President to release it to the public. It’s understandable that, after a year of waiting, American patriots are a little anxious to see heads start to roll within our corrupt government agencies and departments.

For those who thought that President Trump might read the FISA memo during the SOTU, that’s not quite his style. Trump’s first SOTU was unifying and brilliant. The contents of the FISA memo would have had quite the opposite effect and worked against the message that Trump wanted to deliver. In addition, I think President Trump wanted to give officials from the FBI time to review the material before going public with it.

According to Fox News, two high-level officials at the FBI have reviewed the FISA memo and even they could not point out any factual inaccuracies. One of the FBI officials is from the bureau’s counterintelligence division, and the other one is from the legal division. They reportedly looked at the FISA memo after FBI Director Christopher Wray viewed it on Sunday, January 28, 2018.

Now that a total of three officials from the FBI have viewed the FISA abuse memo, the bureau has been strangely quiet about it and has yet to even release a statement on the departure of former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe. In my opinion, McCabe was just a good start, but many others within the FBI’s top ranks need to be dismissed and then prosecuted for their crimes.

SOTU HITS & MISSES

BHO Liar-in Chief pinoccchio

Frankly after going through five lying State of the Union Addresses I did not watch President Barack Hussein Obama’s speech last night. I leave it to a pro-troop organization Move America Forward (MAF) to provide a take on the Liar-in-Chief.

JRH 1/21/15

SOTU HITS & MISSES
MOVE AMERICA FORWARD STATE OF THE UNION RESPONSE

Sent by: Danny Gonzalez
Sent: 1/20/2015 10:38 PM

"Tonight we heard another artful speech from President Obama filled with uplifting rhetoric about moving beyond politics and working for the greater good. Despite tough talk, over the past 6 years we've seen very little action from President Obama to actually defeat Islamic radicals who kill Americans and threaten our way of life.

"The President said in the beginning of his speech that 'the time of crisis has passed' but the world is very much still in crisis. Obama is celebrating his retreat from the War on Terror while Americans overseas continue to die." said Danny Gonzalez, Director of Communications.

"In Afghanistan, our troops are leaving behind a country that is just as unprepared for ISIS as Iraq was when Obama pulled troops out of Iraq in 2012. We hope this year the President will finally wake up and start calling our enemies by name, Islamic terrorists. As he calls for authorization to use force to stop ISIS in Iraq, we urge the President to engage the full might of the American military to accomplish this task and stop tip-toeing around while ISIS secures and consolidates its power base," said Gonzalez.

President Obama delivered his State of the Union address and we've got all the biggest highlights -- hits, and misses from the President and from responses!

HITS

HIT - The biggest hit of the night was when Obama recognized our troops and their service over the last 13 years at war. They received the biggest standing ovation of the night, far longer than any the POTUS got.

HIT
- In contrast to the FLOTUS guest, Congressman Duncan D. Hunter invited Marine Sgt. Andrew Tahmooressi, the Afghanistan war veteran who was held in a Tijuana jail by the Mexican government for over 200 days after he unintentionally crossed the border with firearms in his vehicle.

For all the time Tahmooressi was being held in a filthy Mexican prison, being mistreated and denied justice, President Obama did nothing to secure his freedom. Move America Forward joined hundreds of Americans who protested for Andrew's safe return, which finally happened November 1st last year. No thanks to our Commander-in-Chief.

HIT - In response to Obama parading Alan and Judy Gross, Speaker of the House John Boehner invited political refugee Jose Luis Garcia who was a political dissident thrown in prison by the Castro regime for 17 years! Obama's new Cuba is a reward to the Castro regime for their years of brutality.

HIT - President Obama SAID he wanted an authorization for use of force against ISIS. We couldn't agree more, we must do more to combat ISIS. We must point out however, that ISIS has been a threat for over a year now, and still Obama has done nothing. The troops that he's sent to Iraq have such a limited scope of mission, and the air strikes he has allowed have done very little. ISIS continues to hold huge swaths of territory in Iraq and executes more innocent people every day. We urge President Obama to use the full might of our military to actually do something about this, rather than just talk tough.

HIT
- Former UN Ambassador John Bolton responded to the President's State of the Union address on Twitter, tweeting "Have all Cuban political prisoners been freed yet? And Obama wants us to trust Cuba?" and he pointed out "Obama continues to see international threats as distracting from his primary objective to "fundamentally change" American domestic policy."

We fully agree with Ambassador Bolton. Obama's foreign policy is a disaster and every time one of those blunders causes a crisis, he defends himself by saying we are only using these disasters to score political points. Benghazi was not a "GOTCHA" moment as the president says, it was a disaster!

HIT - Bravo to Joni Ernst for delivering the Republican response to the President's State of the Union. You will remember that MAF was one of Joni's strongest supporters in her bid for the Senate. We support her because of her principles and because of her service to our nation. She is the first female combat veteran to serve in the U.S. Senate and we know she will continue to stand for our troops. In her response, Ernst said, "The forces of violence and oppression don't care about the innocent. We need a comprehensive plan to defeat them." We could not agree with Joni more. President Obama continues to ignore the spread of Islamic radicalism, he denies it even exists.

MISSES

MISS - First Lady Michelle Obama invited an illegal immigrant to join her in a place of honor in the halls of Congress. Ana Zamora, who continues to break the law by continuing to remain in the US illegally, is held up as a standard of good behavior according to Obama's liberal agenda.

She is here to serve as a symbolic THANKS from millions of illegals who thank President Obama for his executive order that amounts to amnesty, while our borders remain unsecured. Are we supposed to be impressed and applaud Obama for circumventing the law and promoting people who knowingly ignore the legal immigration system in place?

MISS - Another member of the First Lady's guest list in the seat of honor are Alan and Judy Gross. Mr. Gross was jailed in Cuba and was freed as part of Obama's new deal to reopen relations with the Communist nation. It's a snub to the millions of Cuban citizens who are still stuck in that poor country under the thumb of a brutal totalitarian regime that continues the savagery established by Castro when he first took over.

MISS -   In the first five minutes of the POTUS's speech he says "...combat operations are over in Afghanistan... the shadow of crisis has passed" here again President Obama is CELEBRATING his retreat from the War on Terror while Americans overseas continue to die. Just today, the State Department asked all Americans to evacuate from Libya due to terror threats and the country of Yemen is apparently about to fall to a rebellion by Islamic-radicals. The situation continues to unfold, but Iraq, Afghanistan and the rest of the Middle East continues to be in crisis while Obama says everything is fine.

MISS - President Obama doubled down on his threat to veto any bills that sanction Iran, saying that these sanctions threaten all the wonderful progress he's accomplished with stalling their Nuclear Program...but he failed to mention that his administration has missed every single benchmark they promised they would in their deal with Iran. We were told that after a 6 month period there would be progress...6 months came and went, and still no progress, yet the sanctions against Iran remain lifted, giving them tons of extra money which they use to fund terrorist organizations like Hezbollah.

MISS - President Obama shamelessly chided his detractors (MAF includes ourselves among them, sometimes) saying "A better politics is one where we debate without... "gotcha" moments, or trivial gaffes, or fake controversies that have nothing to do with people's daily lives." but we contend that Obama's foreign policy blunders are NOT gotcha moments, they cost American lives, as we've seen in Benghazi and Iraq since ISIS started taking over. His foreign policy makes the world a more dangerous place by failing to confront those terrorists who would harm us.

MISS - For the 6th time in 6 State of the Union addresses, President Obama once again called for the closure of GITMO and claimed that he has cut the population of GITMO in half. All he has done in reality, is send new talent back into the arms of ISIS, the Taliban, and Al Qaeda. The current leader of ISIS in Afghanistan is a former GITMO detainee. Obama says this to score political points, but GITMO is not going anywhere.

Thank you for taking the time to review our #SOTU response. Below please take a look at our latest effort to support our troops on the front lines in Afghanistan.

Benghazi Action Alert Before State of the Union!
Will President Obama Mention the Benghazi Investigation in his State of the Union Address Tomorrow Night?

*** IMPORTANT LEGISLATIVE ACTION ALERT ***

Tomorrow night, President Obama will update the nation on the State of the Union. During this time, he will surely discuss many issues. At ACT! for America, our question is: will he update the American people on the investigation into the September 11, 2012, jihadist terror attack on U.S. diplomatic facilities in Benghazi? Will he announce the imminent arrest of the responsible jihadists? Will he announce the termination of members of his administration who were negligent in their duties?

Senator Ted Cruz, who has introduced S.Res.225, legislation in the U.S. Senate creating a joint House/Senate Committee to investigate Benghazi released a list of five questions that he thinks Americans deserve to have addressed by President Obama during the State of the Union. Question number four is “Will the President call on Congress to form a Joint Select Committee to finally discover the truth of why four Americans perished in a preventable terrorist attack in Benghazi 16 months ago?”

If the administration’s deafening silence of the last year and a half is any indication, the answer doesn’t look promising.

Yet even in spite of the continued stonewalling by both the administration and the U.S. Congress, the American people have continued to vociferously demand answers about Benghazi – and so it has remained in the news. Thank you.

It is therefore critical that we continue to let our federal elected officials know that the American people will not forget the Benghazi attack; we will not forget the four Americans who were brutally murdered that night, including a U.S. Ambassador; and we will not abandon their still grieving families.

Just last week alone, there has been much attention on the Benghazi issue:

o   Representative Frank Wolf (R-VA), who has introduced legislation creating a short term special congressional committee to investigate the Benghazi attack, once again implored Speaker Boehner via a letter to create a special committee in his chamber. It was a powerful, well-written letter and we think it’s worth a read.

o   Greg Hicks, the Deputy Chief of Missions under Ambassador Stevens, wrote a compelling op-ed in the Wall Street Journal on the Benghazi issue, in which he responds to the latest attempts to blame the Ambassador for not being prepared for the attack.

o   Ruth Marcus wrote a column in the Washington Post in which she stated her view that the Benghazi attack was preventable and noting how there has been so little accountability.

o   New Members of Congress continue to be added to the ranks of cosponsors of Rep. Wolf’s legislation – with over ¾ of the House majority caucus now on the bill.

The Benghazi issue will only be addressed to the satisfaction of the American people when the American people demand it. Our federal legislators ultimately will listen to their constituents if they understand that their jobs are on the line. We are proud to see so many of our grassroots members continue to be vocal on this issue. You are making a difference. Keep it up.

As we lead up to tomorrow night’s State of the Union address, can I count on you to take the very important actions noted below?

** Important Benghazi Action Items **
Please contact your legislators in the both the U.S. House and Senate to express your support for legislation creating a special congressional committee to investigate the Benghazi attack. As always, please be respectful at all times.

Further, please pass this request on to everyone you know.

1.  House of Representatives Legislation: H.Res.36 by Congressman Frank Wolf (R-VA)

(NOTE: H. Res. 36 is NOT the same as H. R. 36. Please be sure to accurately identify the legislation we are supporting, to avoid confusion.)

for a list of House Members, by state, who still have NOT cosponsored Rep. Wolf’s bill. Is your legislator on that list? If so, he or she needs to hear from you.

Please contact your legislator now via phone call or e-mail and request that he or she sign on to H.Res.36 as a cosponsor. Let your legislator know that this is a very important issue to you and one that you will have in mind when you cast your vote this November.

to obtain contact information for your House legislator.

2.  Senate Legislation, S.Res.225, by Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX)

Please contact your two U.S. Senators and express your support for S.Res.225. Again, let them know that this is an important issue to you, their constituent.

Click
HERE to obtain contact information for your Senate legislators.

There is no excuse for a Member of Congress not to support a special Benghazi committee at this time. We’ve had months and months of hearings and political theatre on this issue and the important questions remain unanswered.

Let’s get this done.
Thank you for all that you do. Together we ARE making a difference.
