Geert Wilders, Pope Francis and Authentic Islam

Geert Wilders is a truth-teller about the inherent nefariousness of Islam. While Muslim Apologists shout from the roof tops that Islam is peace, all you have to do is watch a TV news report to hear about Muslims rioting in the streets because their prophet or their deity was insulted by the kafir; i.e. the infidel or non-Muslim.

 

Recently Pope Francis released his Apostolic Exhortation entitled Evangelii Gaudium (Latin for The Joy of the Gospel). The exhortation caused a bit of a stir among Conservative Americans (expletive warning in the Gawker link) because the Pope criticized Capitalism in favor of Left Wing neo-Marxist concepts of Social Justice (meaning rob from the rich to give to the poor or as President Obama says, “spread the wealth among everybody”). I have read some Conservatives come to the Pope’s defense about his comments on Capitalism, regardless of how you interpret the Pope’s stand on Capitalism that which concerns me is his exhortation pertaining to Islam.

 

Faced with disconcerting episodes of violent fundamentalism, our respect for true followers of Islam should lead us to avoid hateful generalisations, for authentic Islam and the proper reading of the Koran are opposed to every form of violence. It is my sense that Pope Francis has extended Christian Love unscripturally. A proper reading of the Quran makes it obvious that those we label as Radical Muslims are actually following the authentic Islam. Those Muslims that are either self-deceived or updating their faith by excluding the violence inherent in the Quran are not practicing the Islam espoused by its prophet Mohammed and at least the first thousand years of Islam’s existence.

 

There is an Expose Islam movement and those writers involved in exposing the real/authentic Islam are often called Counterjihadists. One such person is the Dutch politician Geert Wilders. Mr. Wilders had a bit of controversy a couple years or so ago with his views including producing an expose Islam video entitled “Fitna”. The relatively short documentary exposes the dark nature of Islam. That video got Wilders in trouble with the law in the Netherlands. He was actually prosecuted for Hate-Speech for doing nothing more than revealing what the actual Quran says. I was surprised and gratified when the court system in the Netherlands found Wilders not guilty. I was surprised because all of Europe has been so into multicultural political correctness that offending Islam with the truth is considered Hate-Speech and is prosecuted.

 

In true Counterjihad style Geert Wilders took a public stand against the portion of Pope Francis’ Evangelii Gaudium which in an act of dhimmitude says that “authentic” Islam is against violence. The public stand came in the form of an open letter to the Pope. I am completely supportive the Wilders open letter. Even though it is not politically correct the open letter sets the Pope straight from the Quran and Sunna.

Your Holiness, In your recent exhortation Evangelii Gaudium (Paragraphs 247-248) you draw the world's attention to the indebtedness of Christianity to the Jews and their faith. The exhortation also contains a sharp condemnation of the terrible persecutions which the Jews have endured from Christians in the past.

 

Your words are words which might inspire many.

 

Unfortunately, they are in sharp contrast to the expressions of hatred which were voiced last October by the spiritual leader of Sunni Islam, Ahmad Al-Tayeb, the Grand Imam of the Al-Azhar Institute in Cairo.

 

During an interview, aired on Egyptian television on October 25, Grand Imam Ahmad Al-Tayeb reaffirmed the relevance of Koranic verse 5:82, which states that of all people the Christians are closest to the Muslims, while the Jews are strongest in enmity towards them. This verse has inspired centuries of Islamic hatred of Jews.

 

Al-Tayeb's invocation of Koranic Jew-hatred is in line with fourteen centuries of Islamic teaching. Grand Imam Al-Tayeb's predecessor at Al-Azhar, Muhammad Sayyid Tantawi, even wrote a book, entitled The Children of Israel in the Koran and the Sunna, in defense of Jew-hatred based on Koranic teachings.

 

The current suffering of Christians from Islamic persecution in Syria, Iraq, Egypt, Sudan, Nigeria, Pakistan, Indonesia, and so many other countries, clearly indicates what Christians have to endure from the followers of the Koran. What atheists and Jews, who are considered the worst enemies, have to endure from Islam is even worse.In your exhortation Evangelii Gaudium (paragraphs 252-253) you state that "authentic Islam and the proper reading of the Koran are opposed to every form of violence."

 

Reality does not confirm this statement.

 

The Koran is full of bellicose and hate-mongering verses against non-Muslims. Your Holiness will be able to find them if he reads the Koran, but I will name just a few:

 

2:191-193: "And slay them wherever you come upon them, [...] Fight them, till there is no persecution and the religion is Allah's."

 

4:89: "If they turn their backs, take them, and slay them wherever you find them; take not to yourselves any one of them as friend or helper."

 

5:33: "This is the recompense of those who fight against Allah and His Messenger, [...]: they shall be slaughtered, or crucified, or their hands and feet shall alternately be struck off; or they shall be banished from the land."

 

8:60: "Make ready for them whatever force and strings of horses you can, to terrify thereby the enemy of Allah and your enemy."

 

9:5: "When the sacred months are drawn away, slay the idolaters wherever you find them, and take them, and confine them, and lie in wait for them at every place of ambush."

 

9:29: "Fight those who believe not in Allah."

 

9:30: "The Christians call Christ the son of God. That is a saying from their mouth; they but imitate what the unbelievers of old used to say. Allah's curse be on them."

 

9:123: "O believers, fight the unbelievers who are near to you; and let them find in you a harshness; and know that Allah is with the godfearing."

 

47:4: "When you meet the unbelievers, smite their necks."

 

I hope that the Holy Father will help us defend the West's Judeo-Christian and humanistic civilization, to which even atheists and agnostics owe their freedom and democracy.

 

Nothing will be gained by a refusal to face reality.

 

We must speak the truth about Islam — the largest threat to mankind in this present age.

Open letter to his Holiness Pope Francis

 

About Geert Wilders

 

Geert Wilders is a member of the Dutch parliament and the head of its third largest party, the Party of Freedom (Partij voor de Vrijheid or PVV). He was criminally charged, and stood trial, for remarks he made that were critical of Islam. Wilders was acquitted of all charges on June 23, 2011.

 

Background:

 

Wilders is an outspoken critic of what he sees as an Islamist threat to Holland's tolerant culture. In 2008, he released a documentary film, called Fitna (Arabic for "strife"), that juxtaposed violent passages from the Qur'an with video of imams advocating violence and footage of Islamist terrorism. Soon after the film's release, a radical Dutch imam who appeared in it sued Wilders for "hurt feelings," claiming 55,000 euros in damages. Meanwhile, the Jordanian government has requested that Holland extradite Wilders to stand trial for blasphemy, a capital offense under Islamic (Shari'ah) law.

 

In June 2010, Wilders' party, the PVV, a libertarian and mainstream conservative party he founded in 2004, won 24 of the 150 seats in the Dutch legislature—an enormous feat, especially given that the PVV is the only party in Holland to refuse state subsidies.

 

Wilders has tapped into genuine concerns surrounding his country's Muslim minority—without appealing to nativist, neo-fascist, or anti-Semitic sentiments. Nevertheless, he has been subjected to a full-on assault, spearheaded and supported by: (1) people seeking to suppress critical expression about Islam-related matters, and (2) people seeking to restrict political debate in the name of multiculturalism and political correctness. A stalwart defender of free speech in the face of such attacks, Wilders was nominated for the European Parliament's 2010 Sakharov Prize for Freedom of Thought in July 2010.

 

Until his recent acquittal, Wilders' stature as one of Holland's leading and most popular politicians did not protect him. On the contrary, Dutch hate speech laws may have served as a potent tool for his political adversaries.

What is an infidel?

I received one of those chain emails that I have to post because the spirit of the message rings so true. Now I’ll be honest it seems that I have read this in the past as in a long time ago. Which means this chain has been floating around the Internet for some time. In such cases I cannot vouch for the attributed author, indeed I’d say it is a good guess that the attributed Minister – Rick Mathes – may have had nothing to do with this story. NONETHELESS, as I said, the question asked to a Muslim Cleric if he was honest would have to answer in the same way. If a Cleric answered directly in the negative or began an obfuscation about what the Quran says elsewhere he would be lying or engaging in deception (which Muslims call taqiyya).

This is a true story and the author, Rick Mathes, is a well-known leader in prison ministry:


The man who walks with God always gets to his destination. If you have a pulse you have a purpose.

The Muslim religion is the fastest growing religion per capita in the United States, especially in the minority races!

Last month I attended my annual training session that's required for maintaining my state prison security clearance.

During the training session there was a presentation by three speakers representing the Roman Catholic, Protestant and Muslim faiths, who each explained their beliefs. I was particularly interested in what the Islamic had to say.

The Muslim gave a great presentation of the basics of Islam, complete with a video.

After the presentations, time was provided for questions and answers. When it was my turn, I directed my question to the Muslim and asked:

‘Please, correct me if I'm wrong, but I understand that most Imams and clerics of Islam have declared a holy jihad [Holy war] against the infidels of the world and, that by killing an infidel, (which is a command to all Muslims) they are assured of a place in heaven.

If that's the case, can you give me the definition of an infidel?' There was no disagreement with my statements and, without hesitation, he replied, 'Non-believers!'

I responded, ‘So, let me make sure I have this straight. All followers of Allah have been commanded to kill everyone who is not of your faith so they can have a place in heaven. Is that correct?'

The expression on his face changed from one of authority and command to that of a little boy who had just been caught with his hand in the cookie jar.'

He sheepishly replied, 'Yes.' I then stated, 'Well, sir, I have a real problem trying to imagine The Pope commanding all Catholics to kill those of your faith or Dr. Stanley ordering all Protestants to do the same in order to guarantee them a place in heaven!'

The Muslim was speechless!

I continued, 'I also have a problem with being your friend when you and your brother clerics are telling your followers to kill me! Let me ask you a question:

Would you rather have your Allah, who tells you to kill me in order for you to go to heaven, or my Jesus who tells me to love you because I am going to heaven and He wants you to be there with me?'


You could have heard a pin drop as the Imam hung his head in shame.


Needless to say, the organizers and/or promoters of the 'Diversification' training seminar were not happy with my way of dealing with the Islamic Imam, and exposing the truth about the Muslims' beliefs.


In twenty years there will be enough Muslim voters in the U.S. to elect the President!


I think everyone in the U.S. should be required to read this, but with the ACLU, there is no way this will be widely publicized, unless each of us sends it on! This is your chance to make a difference....

Validate Homosexuality – Look for the Plains of Sodom

Yesterday I posted an exposé from a pro-Catholic and traditional morality Vlog site called ChurchMilitantTV about a closet homosexual lobby within the Vatican itself. Homosexuality spoken about was actually a problem that has plagued the Catholic Church for some time. That moral plague is predator Priests enticing and/or forcing minor boys to have sex with them. The crime of pedophilia is an act that most Americans find disgustingly abhorrent that a man would defile a male child in such a cruel fashion. In Christianity the Clergy of Catholics, Protestants and Eastern Orthodox Churches are supposed to be a paradigm of morality as established by the Holy Scriptures.

Indeed Christian-hating Leftists and homosexual activists have gone to great lengths to exploit this small lobby contagion of homosexuals within the Catholic Church as hypocrites. These Christian-haters use Pedophile Priests as a good reason to nullify the morality of Christianity to be replaced by Moral Relativity.

Leftists and homosexual activists of course are quite selective in heaping Christian-hating epithets at the Roman Catholic Church. These same Christian-haters will turn around and heap praise on Protestant Denominations that have invalidated Biblical Morality to grasp at Moral Relativity. I found a Wikipedia table diagram of Churches that are accepting of homosexuality in four categories: membership, Ordination, blessing same-sex unions and marrying same-sex couples. I am uncertain on how up to date the diagram is. Below is a list of mainline Protestant Denominations from that list that are accepting of homosexuality regardless of the Word of God condemning the vulgar lifestyle:

The United Methodist Church (UMC) was not on that Wikipedia table diagram; however the UMC is amenable to homosexual membership while condemning the homosexual lifestyle. Also the UMC will probably formerly accept ordination and same-sex marriage because both aspects exist even though UMC rules says no to both.

If I missed any Denominations that have tossed out the Bible when it comes to homosexuality I am confident someone will point it out to me.

The Supreme Court of the United States (SCOTUS) recently drove America further into Moral Relativity and away from Biblical Morality by destroying the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) that mandated that marriage is a union between a man and a woman. Then SCOTUS overturned the will of California State voters by essentially affirming a District Court ruling in California that Proposition 8 – which like DOMA declared marriage a union between a man and a woman – was unconstitutional. SCOTUS said the legal team defending Proposition 8 had no standing in Court because it was a private organization doing the California State government’s job. Of course old Governor Moonbeam and the State legislation are dominated by Christian-Morality-Hating Democrats; thus the State government refused to defend the will of the California State voters.

I am rehashing the SCOTUS anti-Christian activism in the last near hundred years over the Original Intent of the Constitution because now further moral degradation will be in America’s future. The pedophilia in the Roman Catholic Church could become legalized as the next step in Moral Relativity. If America becomes propagandized into totally accepting the moral depravity of homosexuality, Man/Boy sexual relations will not be far behind in the legal acceptance in the rule of law.

After Moral Relativism mandates Man/Boy NAMBLA style acceptance of sexual relationships then it will be illegal in the USA for the majority Roman Catholic hierarchy to discipline pederast Priests that will claim those boys voluntarily engaged in sex with adult Priests. Incidents described in this article will longer be scandalous.

Italian investigators have opened an inquiry into claims by a convicted paedophile priest that an underage prostitution ring has been operating inside the Holy Roman Church with clergymen hiring rentboys for sex inside churches.

Don Patrizio Poggi, 46, told Italian authorities that a former Carabinieri pimped boys for nine clergymen.

Poggi, who served a five-year sentence for abusing teenage boys while he was a parish priest at the San Filippo Neri church in Rome, said he made the allegations to "protect the Holy Church and the Christian community."

The boys were chosen because they were starving and desperate, he claimed, according to Il Messaggero newspaper.

The former policeman used to recruit the boys, mostly eastern European immigrants, outside a gay bar named Twink near Rome's Termini train station. He reportedly sat in his Fiat Panda - marked "Emergency Blood" to avoid parking fines - to make his selection.

He was helped in the recruitment process by a friend who ran a modelling agency. He lured underage boys into prostitution through "false work offers for modelling and acting roles", Poggi said.

The agent also looked for rentboys at gay discos, saunas and gyms across Rome. An accountant was also said to be involved.

The boys were paid €150-€500 (£130-£425) to perform sex acts in church premises across the capital.

Poggi also accused the former Carabinieri of selling consecrated hosts for satanic rites.

Poggi reportedly presented documentary and photographic evidence to police in the company of two senior Vatican clergymen who vouched for his credibility.

Poggi identified the nine clergymen, including two senior church officials and a religion lecturer. Three people have been placed under formal investigation.

The allegations were rejected by the Vatican. Cardinal Agostino Vallini, head of the Catholic Vicariate of Rome, said the priest made false claims out of a desire for vengeance and personal resentment.

The Vatican refused to reinstate Poggi after he served his term.

"The cardinal expresses his full confidence in the magistracy and declares himself full convinced that this slander will be demolished, demonstrating Poggi's claims to be untrue," Vallini said.

Gary Bauer is joining other anti-gay activists in warning that they should prepare to face jail time as a result of gay rights victories at the Supreme Court. In the Washington Times today, Bauer claims that people who oppose same-sex marriage will “find themselves in court” and religious people may soon be “fined or jailed” because of their views.

The ultimate goal of homosexual-rights activists is not to legalize same-sex marriage. Rather, it is to silence those who disagree with them and, if necessary, to throw them in jail. In a world in which the biblical viewpoint of marriage is demonized, it does not take a constitutional scholar to predict that soon those who hold that view will find themselves in court.

How did we get to the point where homosexual-rights activists would be clamoring to redefine society’s oldest and most reliable institution and people of faith would be worried about being fined or jailed for teaching their faith?

A lot had to happen, and it’s not all the left’s fault. It took the breakdown of traditional marriage. It took churches deciding that they could accommodate the homosexual culture or ignore it altogether. It took businesses placing their bottom lines ahead of morality. It took politicians who assured voters on the campaign trail that they would protect marriage and then did nothing to keep their promises once they arrived in Washington.

As a society, we have lost the understanding of what marriage is and what the consequences will be if we redefine it. Nobody has the right to redefine marriage. Doing so ignores research that makes clear that children do best when raised by a mother and a father. Nobody has the right to force children to grow up without the unique contributions that a mother and a father provide.

What’s next?

It’s obvious, isn’t it?

The Supreme Court virtually declared an open season on those with whom the 5-4 majority disagree.

We are no longer relevant. What we think no longer counts. We are, after all, bigots who only want to demean homosexuals.

So when does the persecution begin?

When are we stripped of our citizen status, the right to vote, the right to bear arms and other constitutionally guaranteed liberties? Isn’t that next?

If not, why not?

It was just 10 years ago to the day of this decision that the Supreme Court issued another sweeping ruling in the Lawrence v. Texas case. It struck down anti-sodomy laws in that state and, effectively, across the country.

Justice Antonin Scalia wrote in his dissent in that case that the ruling would inevitably lead to same-sex marriage and polygamy. The cultural establishment scoffed at that opinion. It mocked Scalia. Why?

Because only 10 years ago, the notion of same-sex marriage was practically unheard of. It was a laughable proposition.

That’s how quickly the 6,000-year-old institution of marriage was officially and arbitrarily redefined with the imprimatur of five high priests and priestesses wearing black robes.

Will it take another 10 years for the retribution against marriage defenders to begin? I doubt it. My guess is the plans are already being drafted.

Christians Must Honor Jews

Christians of history past, particularly Roman Catholics, Lutheran Protestants and Eastern Orthodox Christians (More modern Eastern Orthodox antisemitism), emerged as Jew-haters by calling the Jews Christ-killers. Were the Jews of pre-Resurrection Jesus the murderers of Jesus the Christ (the Anointed One and His Anointing). The accusation is a particularly heinous indictment since Jesus came FIRST as the Savior of the Jews and then as the Savior of the World, i.e. the Gentiles (non-Jews).

¹⁶ For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ,^[a] for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek. ¹⁷ For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, “The just shall live by faith.”^[b] (Romans 1: 16-17 NKJV)

Take note that Salvation is to the Jew FIRST and also the Greek (i.e. Gentiles). Under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit the Apostle Paul included this in the Epistle to the Romans AFTER Jesus was nailed to the Cross, died and arose bodily from the grave.

Did the Jews kill their own Messiah? NO! Rather the Greek oriented Sadducees and tradition minded Pharisees in the Temple authority known as the Sanhedrin feared that Jesus’ popularity would remove their political influence bequeathed by Roman hegemony over the Jewish faithful. Roman Procurator Pontius Pilate called for Jesus’ Crucifixion only in the fear the Sanhedrin would notify Roman Caesar Tiberius that a rebellious Jew called Jesus bar Joseph was set free.

In my mind the responsibility for Jesus’ death on the Cross lay at the feet of the Jewish Sanhedrin and the Roman government as administered by Pontius Pilate. If Christians blame Jews as Christ-killers because of the actions of the Sanhedrin, then Christ-killer blame must be shared with the Roman government. At the time the Roman government was Italian-Romans. Do we call all Italians Christ-killers? And think of this: the Roman Catholic Church is a vestige of the Latin speaking Roman Empirical government so do we call all current Catholics Christ-killers? Or think of this: the official liturgy of the Roman Catholic Church until the 1960s was spoken in ancient Latin. Do we call all the people that speak a derivative of Romantic languages (e.g. Italian, Spanish, French, Portuguese and so on) Christ-killers? I believe you get the idea.  

The Jews have problems with Christians, especially the proselytizing Christians even though most of those proselytizers are lovers of the Jews. The problem Jews have with Christians is their/our past Jew-hating persecution including the blood libel of Christ-killer. Yes friends I am talking of the kind of persecution that led to pogroms, genocide and/or death march expulsions.

Orthodox Judaism has a problem with the theology that their Messiah according to Christians is the Son of God making a human co-equal with God Almighty. Indeed, once religious Jews picked up on the preaching of Jesus that His Father is God and Jesus did co-equalize Himself with God by the Father and the Son is One. The pre-Resurrection Lord Jesus mystically walked away from many stoning opportunities from the Jewish faithful.

Christians must abandon the notion of Jewish Christ-killers and Jew-hatred. Christians must embrace the notion the Jews are the Chosen People with the Promise of specific Land to Abraham and the Abrahamic descendants.

Part of the Abrahamic Covenant is the Child of Promise. Sarah was privy to the promise of a great nation. With Abraham and Sarah being a bit aged to have children, Sarah thought she’d God a bit of help and told Abraham to make a baby with her slave Hagar. What a surprise: Abraham thought for about a half a second and said, “Okayyyy”. The progeny of that escapade with slave girl Hagar was Ishmael which everyone presumed was Abraham’s heir apparent to the Promise.

Sarah’s plan was not God’s plan. God promised aged Sarah a child and it happened. The Child of Promise then was Isaac and the child of the slave was Ishmael. Thus Ishmael was not the heir to the Promise but rather Isaac.

The Bible that both Jews and Christians call Holy shows the Promise of Abraham in having descendants as numerous as the stars and the Promise of specific geographical Land. The Jews call this portion of the Bible the Torah and the Tanakh. The Christians call the portion of the Bible with Abrahamic Covenant the Old Testament and the first five books of the OT the Pentateuch. The essence of the differences in interpretation of the Old Testament is the view to who the Messiah will be (Jews) or is (Christians). Of course the theology chasm has widened over years as the Gentiles began to dominate Christianity over the Jews. Regardless of that growing Jewish-Christian theology chasm it is incumbent upon Christians to honor in the plan of Salvation knowing that part of that plan is the Jews FIRST and then the Gentiles.

I found a John Piper article posted at Desiring God that highlights the reasons of why to embrace “the Jews First” and the theology that is equal between Jews and Gentiles.  I am just listing the points in the article I do encourage you to read the whole thing. The title is “To the Jew First, and Also to the Greek”.

First, then, how are the Jews "first"?

1. The Jews have a priority over Gentiles as the chosen people of God

2. The Jews have a priority over Gentiles as the guardians of God's special revelation, the Old Testament Scriptures

3. The Jews have a priority over the Gentiles in that the Messiah himself, Jesus Christ, came first as a Jew to the Jews

4. The Jews have a priority over the Gentiles in that salvation is from the Jews

5. The Jews have a priority over the Gentiles in that Paul evangelized Jews first when he brought the gospel to a new place

6. The Jews have a priority over the Gentiles in final judgment and final blessing.

In What Ways Do the Jews Not Have Priority?

1. The Jews do not have priority in righteousness or merit

2. The Jews do not have priority in how they are saved

3. The Jews do not have priority in participation in God's covenant blessings

This is what got me started on Christians must be supportive of Jews even if Jews mistrust Christians. A better writer than I (Danny Jeffrey) found a news article on Israel Nation News in which a moronic Catholic Cardinal calls Israel a bunch of baby-killers in the recent bout with Islamic terrorists Hamas. Cardinal Gianfranco Ravasi condemns Israel yet does not mention that Hamas shot missiles into Israeli civilian centers targeting among other location schools. Cardinal Ravasi is supporting Jew-hating Muslims that deny the Divinity of Christ and has the goal of killing every Jew in Israel because Islam calls the Bible corrupt and the Promises given to Abraham that was to flow through the child of Promise – i.e. Isaac – a lie. The Quran rewrites the Old Testament and the New Testament to proclaim the Abrahamic Covenant flows from the child of the slave – Ishmael. AND that Jesus is NOT the Son of God but rather a mere man that was a great Prophet BUT second to the butchering self-proclaimed prophet Mohammed.

This Cardinal Ravasi is outrageous and should be removed from his high Papal position by Pope Benedict XVI.

Not a word was heard from the Vatican all the years Sderot babies were in mortal danger. They began noticing the violence last week.

Cardinal Gianfranco Ravasi, President of the Vatican Council for Culture, commenting on the war between Israel and Hamas, delivered a severe attack on the Jewish people: “I think of the ‘massacre of the innocents’. Children are dying in Gaza, their mothers’ shouts is a perennial cry, a universal cry”.

The Catholic Church high official equated Israel’s operation in Gaza against terror groups with the New Testament story of Herod’s slaughter of Jewish babies in his effort to kill Jesus.

Ravasi, who is one of the most popular Catholic cardinals and the director of the Church’s policy on culture, called Israelis baby-killers in a shameless form of anti-Semitism which subtly accuses the Jewish State of trying to murder the new Jesus, symbolized by the Palestinian people.

The Vatican official’s modern blood libel against Israel was delivered during the presentation of Pope Benedict’s new book about the life of Jesus. However, Ravasi's theme – the Jews as Herod, who killed all the innocent babies because his heart was set on killing Jesus – was much beloved by Medieval organizers of pogroms.

The vicar-general of the Latin Patriarchate of Jerusalem, William Shomali, said on Vatican Radio that “what is happening in Gaza now is a vicious circle of violence”. The auxiliary bishop then declared that “it’s difficult to know who started it”. How difficult?

A few weeks ago, in an interview with the Catholic magazine Famiglia Cristiana, Shomali claimed that “hatred of Christians” is the Talmud itself. "The Talmud, the holy book studied by the ultra-orthodox, more highly venerated than the Bible itself, invites religious hatred, speaks badly of Jesus, and even worse of Mary and, in general, of Christians,” the bishop said, adding that “in Israeli schools, love for the other is not taught, but rather the destruction of the other”.

Talking to the Vatican News Agency, Michel Sabbah, Patriarch Emeritus of Jerusalem, said that the Gaza Strip for many years “has been living under the weight of an absurd embargo, which makes the daily lives of a million and a half of people inumane (sic)”.

Sabbah signed the recent appeal by more than one hundred Christian leaders who have asked the international community to support the recognition of the Palestinian State as a full member of the United Nations. Among the signers is the Greek Orthodox Archbishop Atallah Hanna, a self professed anti-Semite who blessed the suicide attacks against Israeli civilians.

As yet, no condemnation has come from the Pope of the barrages of rockets fired by terror groups on southern Israeli cities before Operation Pillar of Defense. The Church authorities, and Benedict XVI himself, raised their voices in condemnation of the violence that has broken out in the Gaza Strip only after Israel began bombing the installations of the terrorist movements in that territory. Not a word was heard before that.

During the Cast Lead operation in 2009, the Vatican officials called Gaza "a concentration camp". After the Nazi comparison did its work, the Jesus-killer motif has now returned to the Catholic Church.
