Racism and Injustice Must End

Pakistan Army School Peshawar - map & satellite

Shamim Masih writes about the Taliban-Pakistan attack at a military operated school in Peshawar. In case you missed the news on this Taliban attack in which 141 died and of that number 132 were children. Here’s a BBC excerpt on the Islamic terrorist attack:

Militants from the Pakistani Taliban have attacked an army-run school in Peshawar, killing 141 people, 132 of them children, the military say.

Officials say the attack in the north-western city is over, with all the attackers killed. Seven militants took part in all, according to the army.

Scores of survivors are being treated in hospitals as frantic parents search for news of their children.

The attack - the Taliban's deadliest in Pakistan - has been widely condemned.

A Taliban spokesman told BBC Urdu that the school, which is run by the army, had been targeted in response to military operations.

Hundreds of Taliban fighters are thought to have died in a recent offensive in North Waziristan and the nearby Khyber area.

US President Barack Obama said terrorists had READ ENTIRETY – BBC provides numerous photos of after affects (Pakistan Taliban: Peshawar school attack leaves 141 dead; BBC; 12/16/14 last updated same date 13:30 ET)

Shamim is rightly shocked by the murder of children by Islamic terrorists. And apparently diverse political rivals in the Pakistan government have united to demonstrate that the Taliban will pay for this heinous crime … of killing Muslim children.

BUT I have to wonder. Where was the unity government call to action when the Taliban was involved in a Church slaughter by a couple of homicidal-suicide bombers killing a large amount of Church goers in Peshawar?

Also Shamim does something that on a personal level I have a pet peeve with; viz. showing a difference between radical Islam and so-called moderate Islam by saying, “…we show our solidarity with our Muslim brothers, we remember the impact of the twin bomb attack on a church in Peshawar last year”. It is my opinion that I know many will disagree with, that a good Muslim is one that at the very least regards the Quran as the inerrant word of the Islamic deity Muslims call Allah. Such a belief does little to separate the purist-radical Islam from the so-called moderate Islam. Indeed a Muslim that ONLY follows the peaceful and seeking Allah suras of the Quran are disobeying Quranic commands to hate Jews, Christians and polytheists.

Anyway, here is Shamim’s editorial report.

ISLAMABAD: We had just finished our routine meeting in our office and were sitting in the reporting room. My colleague Nasir Kazmi told me that Chief Justice Supreme Court Justice Nasirul Mulk will be hearing the Kot Radha Kishan case today. During our discussion I received a text message from BBC producer Wietske, she said that our planned visit is postponed due to the incident in Peshawar therefore we cannot move to Lahore. The assault, which was still in progress at mid-day….. Was it a reaction of Operation Zarb-e-Azb [Blog Editor: Zarb-e-Azb inflicted fatal blow on terrorists: PM] or what else?

According to the reports, Taliban commandos stormed Army Public school in Peshawar. The fatal attack has resulted in at least137 deaths, and many were injured. The attackers were said to have been dressed like military soldiers in an attempt to subvert security protocols. They went after the unarmed and helpless. Every bully is a coward underneath it all. Victims were killed either in class rooms or corridors. Some survivors’ spoke of how they played dead to avoid being shot, terrified that they would never see the light of the day again. Education isn’t just the best antidote to poverty; it is one of the best anti-terrorism tactics – helps kids get out of hopelessness and into opportunity. But a band of men walked into a school in Peshawar and massacred over 130 children. What kind of person does something like this?

Although we do not expect many Christians to have been affected by this attack, but we show our solidarity with our Muslim brothers, we remember the impact of the twin bomb attack on a church in Peshawar last year, which killed a similar number of victims. The pain families went through required counseling and moral support and we stand with these latest victims. We need to stand united against this wave of terrorism. If we have taken stand against the brutality in All Saints Church, Peshawar, and had taken stringent measures to kill this mind set. It sounds good, when the apex court has ordered [the] arrest [of] the police officers, who were present while an extremist mob burnt the Christian couple alive on November 4. CJ also ordered to take action against Molvi Noor Hassan and Arshad Baloch for provoking the crowd on that day.

These Taliban are killing children and fighting for their superior belief system which they want to spread around the globe and recreate the grand days of the Caliphate. As most of them can’t read or write, how could they do that? This Fazlullah character [Blog Editor: The rise of Maulana Fazlullah, the ruthless Taliban leader who ordered the Peshawar school killings] is nothing but another Stalin or Hitler in making, corrupting all before him. The educated Muslim community needs to very publicly disavow these perverters of their faith. Call them what they are, misogynistic, megalomaniacs with serious psychological problems.

It’s time that PM Nawaz Sharif learns that you can’t make a deal with the devil. Find out where the villages that shelter these animals are and carpet bombs them. Those “civilians” that provide refuge are supporters. Pakistani law enforcement agencies should be aware of them where these mutts are.

Remembering the Martyrs’ of All Saint Church Peshawar

All Saint Church Peshawar Victims 9-22-13

All Saints Church Peshawar Victims 9/22/13

Just a little more than a year ago two Islamic terrorists committed homicidal suicide at a Pakistani Church so old it was built during the old British Raj of India. Shamim Masih writes a remembrance article about the hundreds of Christians that were killed in the name of Islam.

ISLAMABAD: It was sunny morning when I reached in Lahore on 22nd September, 2013; I received the phone call from my friend, he told that All Saints Church Peshawar is under the attack. As soon as I switched on the TV there was breaking news saying there was two suicide attackers struck at the end of the services at All Saints Church Peshawar. It was the deadliest attack that the Christian community had ever experienced in the history of the country. This attack had left the Christian community shocked and shattered which left 127 people dead and hundreds injured.

After one year Christian community around the country gathered there to offer special prayer and paid tributes to the victims of the twin suicide bombing who had lost their lives at All Saints Church Peshawar.  People are gathered to commemorate the first anniversary of the horrible suicide bombings at All Saints Church, Peshawar.

Bishop Azad Marshall, Bishop of Iran and Gulf went to All Saints Church Peshawar to stand along with the survivors. According toBishop Azad Marshal in Peshawar Shahzad Gill the chaplain to Rt. Rev Dr. Azad Marshall, there were gathering of 4000 people who joined hands in sharing the body of Christ at All Saints Church, Peshawar. Talking to the gathering Bishop Azad Marshall said that after one year of the incident that pain and agony hangs on; souls have [been] scarred for life but we have hope in Christ. The attack was not on the Christians of the Peshawar but also an attack on humanity. We will continue our struggle for a just and equitable Pakistan, he added. He demanded the authorities to ensure the safety and protection of the religious minorities as enshrined in the constitution of Pakistan.

Observing the first anniversary of the Peshawar church attack; chairman PUCM Albert David said all political parties are united in the war against terrorism and supportive to promote peace building in the country. Speaking at the Remembrance service followed by the candlelight vigil he said we as PUCM stress for a collective effort to promote the soft image of Pakistan through a peaceful and harmonized co-existence at home. Expressing solidarity with Christians Marching in Memory Peshawar Church bombingfamilies of the victims, he said that though wounds have healed however the scars remain and remind us of the tragic incident even.

Muslim Christians Unity forum also arranged candle light vigil to pay tribute to the martyrs of the September 22, 2013 bomb blast at the All Saints Church Peshawar. Basharat Khokhar, a social activist said that federal and provincial government made many promises but nothing is being delivered so far. He targeted the Christian leadership and said political leadership is the representative of their political mother parties. They do not represent Christian minority but to their Muslim mother party.

The small and largely impoverished Christian community suffers discrimination intolerably [among the] Muslim majority [in] Pakistan. And nobody cares about it.

Be Blessed,
Shamim Masih

Minorities have no choice in Pakistan

Intro to ‘Minorities have no choice in Pakistan’
Editor: John R. Houk
Intro typed: September 17, 2014

Shamim writes about Pakistani minorities being persecuted by the majority Sunni Muslims. That persecution is executed with mercilessly robbing, beating, raping, damaging property, damaging Churches, damaging religious centers and artifacts other religious minorities which includes loss of life. Of course Shamim writes from a Christian perspective but he includes other religious minorities because in Pakistan they are the recipients of the same vicious hate as Christians from Sunni Muslims. Shamim insinuates a sense of abandonment from the Western World specifically mentioning Americans and Jews.

As Americans go I have to disagree. American citizens are the largest givers of foreign charity in the world. As to Shamim’s disappointment of Jews providing aid to Pakistani-Christians or any Pakistani-Religious minority for that matter, may rest on one historical fact. Jews have faced thousands of years of persecution being ejected from their homeland twice. In this present age the Muslim world begrudges Jews living on their God-Promised land even that land is extremely miniscule in the 21st century. Any enlargement of Israeli territory since 1948 has come due to existential wars guided by Muslim nations and Muslim terrorists intent on destroying the Jewish homeland for a third time and executing a Jewish genocide if such an ungodly destruction of Israel occurs. Because of a history of Christian and Muslim degradation of Jews over the last few centuries there is little affinity for Jews to invest in persecuted Christians or other minorities that have expressed antisemitism toward Jews in general. Despite the years of persecution from non-Jews, Jews – particularly American Jews - are remarkable givers to non-Jewish charities. As far as that goes to Pakistan, I have no idea. My first inkling is that Jews are more giving to alleviate natural disasters than to overcome non-Jewish socio-religious issues.

Nevertheless, Shamim is correct to be disappointed. The American media is nearly absent on reporting the plight of Pakistani Christians. The American media would do a great service for American givers if the illegitimate Pakistan Christian leaders (i.e. the corrupt and money grubbing) were exposed while highlighting Pakistani Christian leadership doing actual social and civil rights work among the exploited, abused and often violently murdered poverty stricken Christians.

As such Shamim Masih is one of those legitimate Christian civil rights leaders. There is some donation information for his very dangerous work in an environment in which the hatred of Christians is pervasive at end of Shamim’s report below.

Minorities have no choice in Pakistan
Shamim at the place of twin blast in Peshawar church

ISLAMABAD: Sitting on the top roof of the four stories building in the capital, a man roared that if you uttered a single word from your mouth I will send you directly into hell. There were four people from three different faiths, Sunni, Shia and a Christian. It can happen only in Pakistan that Sunni Muslims can use rough language about others but they are not ready to listen against themselves, because they are in power. Religion should not be the state’s business; I am sorry, but it’s clear that your religion is not your personal matter. It is the matter for all of us to interfere in, as and when we feel necessary or find a choice.

The recent attack on the Sikh community of Peshawar {Times of India] and on an Ahmadi community in Gujranwala [WSJ] has given out a clear message to minorities that Pakistan is not for them. Harjeet Singh, 30, was present in his grocery shop in Nothia Bazar of Peshawar, when two unknown assailants on a motorcycle opened fired on him and killed him on the spot [The Nation].

It’s a clear message to all minorities that they don’t have the right to practice their religion or sect nor to run their business for their living. If you did so, you better [be] ready for an army of so called preachers deliberately enforcing a religious polemic argument on you. It makes no difference, how patriotic you feel for Pakistan, you will always stay an American or Zionist agent. Although it is fact, Americans or Jews least bother about Pakistani Christians. The Taliban have already given warnings to the people of Chitral valley (heretics) to either convert to Islam or be ready to die [The Frontier PostDawn.com]. A few months back, three Hindu temples were desecrated in Mir Pur Khas district [Central Asia Online &.Pakistan Times] Earlier this year, in Larkana, the heart of Pakistan Peoples Party, a mob looted a Hindu temple before setting it ablaze [Hindu Human Rights & The Hindu]. After the attack on Peshawar Church last year, the Taliban made it quite clear that the attacks were exactly according to Sharia. Religious extremists looted the houses in Joseph Colony [in] Lahore before setting it ablaze. Asia Bibi, Sawan Masih and [the] Christian couple (Shagufta Bibi and Shafqat Emmanuel) in Gojra are sentenced to death. And all it started with Christians allegedly framed in a blasphemy case [For Pakistan].

I K representing new Pak

The killing of [a] Christian family in Gojra including small kids and burning the 100 years old church in Mardan were some chilling events that can’t be forgotten. Even, the sizable Shia community faces the same fate as other minorities do. Shias are killed on regular basis in the country. People are pulled down from the buses, identified and they are mercilessly massacred.

It’s again pathetic when we see that neither Pakistani Christian organizations like CLAAS and so on nor the international community step forward to protect Christian rights. Some so called social activists are active for their vested interests in the name of protecting Pakistani Christians.  Sorry to say,Pakistan drainage system at slums but this is not a country for minorities, you better leave. But how come, it is possible [for] neither European nor other Christian countries to welcome Pakistani Christians? We are left here to suffer and suffer no bright future for children [due to the] stiff environment around.

Be Blessed,
Shamim Masih
