'My Secret Life in the CIA': Undercover in the War on Terror

Michele Rigby Assad: Former CIA Turned Agent for God

Michele Rigby Assad was a CIA agent that the three-letter spy organization needs more of the like. Here’s a brief bio from thefeddagency.com:

BIO

Michele Rigby Assad is a former undercover officer in the U.S. Central Intelligence Agency’s Directorate of Operations. Trained as a counterterrorism specialist, Michele served her country for ten years, working in Iraq and other secret Middle Eastern locations.

Upon retirement from active service, Michele and her husband Joseph (also a former agent) joined a group of Americans who wished to aid persecuted Christians. Their efforts resulted in the evacuation of a group from northern Iraq that was featured on ABC’s 20/20 in December 2015.

Michele holds a master’s degree in Contemporary Arab Studies from Georgetown University. Today she serves as an international security consultant, splitting her time between the Middle East, Florida, and Washington, D.C.

MICHELE HAS EXTENSIVE EXPERIENCE:

§  speaking to large, live audiences (human rights conferences, women’s groups, civic organizations, church groups, college classrooms and chapel services),

§  being on television (providing interviews throughout her educational career and starring in a television commercial in Egypt), and

§  providing training for CIA officers on counterterrorism and counterintelligence issues.

Michele’s presentations are great for sales and negotiation trainingmanaging teams, and working with colleagues/collaboration.

Michele enjoys speaking to women’s groups, providing personal security training to international travelers, and showing business teams how they can apply intelligence lessons to workplace productivity, sales and team culture.

This remarkable gal came to my attention via a CBN News article that doubles as a promo for her book, “Breaking Cover: My Secret Life in the CIA and What It Taught Me about What's Worth Fighting For”. The article and the video struck so much that I am sharing it below.

'My Secret Life in the CIA': Undercover in the War on Terror

WASHINGTON — Michele Rigby Assad is a former undercover officer in the National Clandestine Service of the U.S Central Intelligence Agency.

She trained as a counterterrorism specialist and served her country for 10 years, working in Iraq and other secret Middle Eastern locations.

So what is it like to be face-to-face with terrorists who want to kill you?

Assad said, "It is fascinating. The best school in terrorism is being in front of these guys like that. We are allowed to say me and my husband served in Baghdad for a year. We got to really interact with those sources and really got to know what they were thinking. What made them tick, which is fascinating because if they met you on the street they would prefer to cut you head off instead of actually deal with you."

Overcoming Hurdles to Gain Trust

Assad told CBN News a major hurdle she had to overcome was being a woman anad gaining their trust.

"For them, I was the opposite of what they came to meet with. I had to really work at establishing a relationship with them, where they would see me as intelligent and knowledgeable of the Arab world," she said. "Because in their minds, I should be at home managing a family. I shouldn't even leave the home without a male minder and I should be covered in black. I was a complete anomaly to these guys."

In her book, Breaking Cover: My Secret Life in the CIA and What It Taught Me About What's Worth Fighting For, Assad explains that becoming a CIA agent was the last thing on her mind, and didn't even know her eventual role even existed.

9/11 Changes Everything

On September 11, 2001, she and her husband knew God had them on the right path.

"Here were two committed Christians, pre-positioned to enter the war on terror from the very beginning. Who knew but God?" Assad said.

Upon retirement from active service, Michele and her husband, Joseph – who is also a former agent – began leading teams to aid Christian refugees, including a rescue mission to Iraq.

"Miraculously, even though the evacuation almost fell apart on numerous occasions, on December 10, 2015 we successfully airlifted 149 Iraqi Christians out of northern Iraq to their new homes in Slovakia," Assad told us.

Assad hopes people who read her book gain a greater understanding of her faith and belief in Jesus Christ, and why they should never give up on reaching for their goals.

How Can Ordinary People Stay Safe?

With all of her training from the CIA on how to read people, CBN News asked the Assad what ordinary people can do to stay safe.

She said no one can be on alert all the time. But when you're in a popular place, like Times Square in New York or a busy shopping mall, recognize these are vulnerable areas and really open your eyes and pay attention to who is around you.

Assad said people can train themselves to spot things that don't look right.

She says when you do see something unusual, have the courage to speak up and tell somebody.

Assad says local, state and federal authorities cannot do it alone.

The purge continues

CAIR - Islamic Terrorist Supporters
Muslim Brotherhood and probably Hamas inspired American-Islamic organizations are at it again in preventing the public to be protected from Radical Islam.

The purge continues

Sent: 8/6/2012 10:04 AM

As we reported to you early this summer, groups like CAIR (Council on American-Islamic Relations) and ISNA (Islamic Society of North America) are stepping up their efforts to purge any references to jihad, sharia, and the like, from anti-terrorism training materials and programs.

The latest example of this comes from Tampa, Florida (see the Tampa Tribune story below, highlights added). In this instance, CAIR Florida is even attempting to suppress well-established historical facts.

The Obama administration has already purged all references to radical Islam from its strategic threat assessments. Groups like CAIR and ISNA are doing everything they can to finish the job down to the local level of law enforcement.

Muslims seek instructor's ouster

TAMPA --
Local Muslims are asking for the removal of a state-contracted counter-terrorism instructor whom they say spreads false information about their religion and encourages law enforcement officers in Florida to racially profile people of the Islamic faith.

The Council on American-Islamic Relations in Tampa sent a letter Tuesday to state officials, asking them to sever ties with instructor Sam Kharoba. The trainer's presentations are "full of inaccuracies, sweeping generalizations and stereotypes," the letter said.

"He encourages law enforcement officers to view Muslims with distrust," said Hassan Shibly, executive director of CAIR in Tampa. "His training materials encourage law enforcement officers to profile and target Muslims."

Kharoba's training manual says Islam favors war, not peace, and says countries with a 99-percent Muslim population are "ultimate Jihad-manufacturing societies," according to the council's letter.

The council's claims, Kharoba said, are baseless.

"CAIR's statements are manufactured distractions designed to shift blame onto the law enforcement agencies that are protecting the American people," Kharoba said.

Kharoba owns a for-profit company called the Counter Terrorism Operations Center. His company was hired by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement to offer the training sessions.

The FDLE is reviewing CAIR's concerns, spokeswoman Gretl Plessinger said.

The department has "received positive feedback" from people taking Kharoba's courses, Plessinger said.

The FDLE, which organizes several training sessions a year for state police officers, had to cancel a few classes in the spring because of a lack of participants, Plessinger said.

One of the canceled sessions was to be taught by Kharoba.

Shibly said Kharoba's manual and related presentations may have influenced local officers. People in Tampa's Muslim community have reached out to CAIR, saying they were harassed by Hillsborough County deputies, Shibly said.

Deputies are not taught or encouraged to harass anyone, sheriff's spokesman Larry McKinnon said.

"Racial profiling is not condoned here," he said.

No one in the Muslim-American community has contacted the sheriff's office to say they were targeted by deputies, McKinnon said.

"But if they did, we'll take their complaints seriously and investigate," he said.

The council's letter said Kharoba's training manual instructs police that the Islamic prophet Muhammad's teachings started as "peaceful and tolerant but later became radical and militant." [Editor’s Note: This is historically accurate. CAIR is attempting to rewrite established historical facts—a common disinformation tactic used by Muslim Brotherhood-connected organizations like CAIR.]

Kharoba also wrote that "every one of Osama bin Laden's speeches is theologically correct according to Islamic theology" and that bin Laden was "simply following the path and the mission that Prophet Muhammad started 1,429 years ago," the letter said.

Shibly and other Muslim-Americans have denounced bin Laden. Ramzy Kilic, the council's former director, said bin Laden "hijacked the Islamic faith and was responsible for the anti-Muslim backlash since 9/11."

Kharoba said Muslim police officers who enrolled in his course never complained.
"Approximately 100 Muslim law enforcement officers attended our training classes over the past 10?years and none of these Muslim officers complained or provided any negative review of the material presented," Kharoba said.

The Muslim officers, Kharoba said, agreed with the presentations, which "clearly demonstrates the factual accuracy of our material and the baseless position that the critics are taking in order to hinder law enforcement efforts to protect our citizens from extremists."

The training manual, a copy of which was obtained by the council through a public records request, is titled "Understanding Islamic Theology: The Driving Force Behind Islamist Terrorism." A label on the cover reads, "Law Enforcement Sensitive, Do Not Distribute."

McKinnon said deputies attended four classes taught by Kharoba from 2007 to 2009. Relevant, useful information in any seminar is absorbed into the sheriff's office's policy and procedures, he said.

"But we'll censor anything that isn't appropriate," McKinnon said.

Brennan Counterterrorism Hubbub

John R. Houk
© April 7, 2010

John O. Brennan is Assistant to the President for Homeland Security and Counterterrorism which is a White House job. A White House job means Brennan’s appointment (Like Obama Czars) did not need Senate Confirmation.

From the brief research I have read on Brennan suggests he has credible credentials for his White House job. The research also suggests Brennan is a political opportunist. Why?

In the G.W. Bush Administration Brennan worked under CIA Director George Tenet and appeared to support many of the interrogation techniques supported by Tenet and the Bush Administration. This is to say Brennan supported enhanced (harsh) interrogation techniques to extract information from Islamic terrorists bent on destroying America while killing U.S. citizens along with their dream of Islamic domination.

Appeasement minded Leftists who are more concerned about the civil rights of America’s foreign enemies (and fifth column enemies) than they are for the lives of American men, women and children; love to call enhanced interrogation techniques torture.

Since Brennan appears to be a bit of a political opportunist, he has earned detractors across America’s political spectrum. The Left distrusts the guy because of his Bush/Tenet affiliation as well as being a defender of torture to extract security/defense information from Islamic terrorists. The Right distrusts the guy for joining the Obama team as an Intelligence campaign advisor, an Obama White House employee and as an Obama apologist supporting the current Obama Foreign Policy agenda.

With this in mind, one of my favorite bloggers has written criticism of George Brennan that you should explore.
