The anniversary of two Islamic terrorist attacks is coming up on September 11. The first in 2001 on the World Trade Center and the second in 2012 at Benghazi. Justin Smith is writing about the egregious cover-up about Benghazi.

Why didn’t the Obama Administration make no effort at a rescue during the thirteen-hour fire fight with Muslim terrorists? Was Obama Administration afraid that secret arms dealing was going on between Muslim terrorists in Libya and Muslim terrorists in Syria? Was there an even more sinister clandestine operation going on that Obama didn’t want the public to know about during an election year? What was then Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s role in all the lies surrounding Benghazi?

These are questions that all branches of the Obama Administration have NOT been forthcoming in giving out data and eye-witness accounts. It is this kind of cover-up that brought down the Nixon Administration. The Dems have become so sleazy that they will protect their power prospects at any cost to truth and integrity.

Americans Don't Leave Americans to Die

Never has America witnessed a more shameful event than on September 11th, 2012, when the Obama administration refused to go immediately to the assistance of the U.S. Consulate and the CIA Annex in Benghazi, Libya, as besieged Americans fought a full pitch battle against a well-planned terrorist attack by Ansar al-Sharia and the Brigades of the Captive Omar Abdul Rahman. Beyond a shadow of doubt, several U.S. military resources were available, despite all administration claims to the contrary, and could have arrived in time to have prevented the deaths of Tyrone Woods and Glen Doherty, if not Sean Smith and Ambassador Chris Stevens. However, according to numerous well respected sources of unquestionable integrity, various military units received a "stand down" order.

Secretary of State Hillary Clinton had direct authority over the Libyan facilities. So what happened?

Twice after the initial "critic"/Critical Incident Flash, the White House received requests for military assistance during the attack. Twice they denied those requests, before Obama finally ordered Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta and Hillary Clinton to "do everything possible" to save the remaining Americans at the CIA Annex. And then Obama nonchalantly went to bed, as he was more focused on his next day presidential campaign event.

Information released by the Congressional Select Committee on Benghazi shows that at 11:45 PM Washington time (5:54 Benghazi time), more than five hours after Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta issued his order to deploy (military) elements, White House Chief of Staff Denis McDonough sent an email to the high level representatives of the Executive Branch. McDonough's primary concern seemed to be the removal of Pastor Jones' video, of the Prophet Mohammed burning in effigy, rather than ensuring U.S. military forces were moving to rescue the American survivors, who were still fighting for their lives at this time.

Just days after the attacks, (Retired Army) Lt. Col. Tony Schaffer told FoxNews that the U.S. planned the invasion of Grenada in 1983 in six hours. He added, "We could have had a strike team on the ground in Benghazi in thirty minutes or less to protect, assist and extract our personnel under attack."

Gregory Hicks, Ambassador Stevens' State Department deputy, told the Congressional Select Committee on Benghazi that SOCAFRICA commander Lt. Col. Gibson and his team were preparing to board a C-130 from Tripoli to Benghazi, when Gibson received a phone call. He was told not to board the flight. Hicks also testified that the State Department never requested country clearance from Libya for any U.S. forces that night.

One CIA contractor, Kris "Tanto" Paranto, who was in the thick of the battle all during that night ('13 Hours'), has since revealed that two AC 130-H "Spectre" gunships were "on call" on 9/11/2012. One was a 45-minute flight away at Naval Air Station Sigonella in Sicily, and its 25mm rapid-fire Gatling guns, 40mm precision Bofors gun and 105mm canon would have made short work of the terrorists, scattering them to the wind.

Paranto also knew members of the European Command Commander's In-Extremis Force (EUCOM/ C-110), which was about 3 hours away on a counter-terrorism training mission in Croatia, and he called them after he and his security team fought their way back to the Annex with the surviving U.S. personnel. The EUCOM loaded up and prepared to leave, when they were stopped around midnight.

Pentagon Chief of Staff Jeremy Bash offered the U.S. military's assistance to the State Department soon after receiving Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta's clear and unambiguous orders to go rescue our people. At 7:09 PM Washington time (1:09 AM Benghazi time) Bash informed Hillary Clinton's office of numerous military assets that were "spinning up as we speak" to deploy to Benghazi. And yet, by the time of the final lethal battle at the CIA Annex, after nearly 8 hours of battle, no assets ordered deployed by Secretary Panetta had even left the ground.

Two U.S. Marine Corps Fleet Anti-Terrorism Security Team (FAST) platoons stood by at the ready for three hours, changing their uniforms four times due to "diplomatic sensitivities" expressed by Clinton and her staff. Armed predator drones stayed inactive. Marine Expeditionary Units in the Mediterranean stayed aboard ship, and the 173rd Airborne Infantry at Aviano Airbase in Italy never made the two-hour flight by C-130.

The only military "asset" to reach Benghazi during the attacks was Team Tripoli, military personnel based at the Tripoli Annex, whose presence was unknown to Clinton, Panetta and the Joint Staff. They deployed themselves that night, improvising, persevering and overcoming the odds, because fellow Americans needed them, and they saved American lives.

Why didn't Hillary Clinton request the deployment of U.S. military resources? One AFRICOM commander said, "The State Department was concerned that an overt U.S. military presence in Libya could topple the government."

More importantly, who was the leak at the State Dept. that gave the terrorists ten-days prior notice of Ambassador Stevens' arrival in Libya? -- a trip that was supposed to be a secret. What role did Clinton advisor Huma Abedin play in this? -- Abedin, who has long advocated for Sharia law and has deep ties to the Muslim Brotherhood, a terrorist organization, and the radical Imam Yusuf al-Qaradawi through her parents, Syed and Saleha Abedin.

Tyrone Woods and Glen Doherty both died in the final hours of the attacks. Charles Woods spoke to the Citizens' Committee on Benghazi this June (WND), stating: "My son and the rest would still be alive if there were any attempt made at a rescue ... I want to know who was responsible for my son's death."

Mr. Woods and the family members of Chris Stevens, Sean Smith and Glen Doherty may soon have more definitive answers. The FBI has just recently recovered 30 Benghazi related emails that Hillary Clinton deleted.

Representative Mike Pompeo (R-KS) stated: "We expect our government to make every effort to save the lives of Americans who serve in harm's way. That did not happen in Benghazi. Politics were put ahead of the lives of Americans.

Americans don't leave Americans to die, but this administration and Hillary Clinton did. Obama and Clinton both were derelict in their duties, but Clinton's black heart and overt malfeasance, with her focus on her Libyan agenda and her personal schemes, left four Americans dead and ten wounded. Thirty-five were waiting in fear, desperate for help. But help never came from Washington, D.C., because Clinton gave the stand down order, which halted the Tactical Operations Center Team Leader's standard operating procedures at Tripoli's U.S. Embassy and the deployment of U.S. military assets for a rescue mission. The Pentagon could not act without a specific request for assistance from Clinton's State Department. All America saw these "Progressives" and their government fail to rescue our people, when most of us would have moved Heaven and Earth to do so.

Benghazi - The Signs of Al Qaeda

The latest version of the Benghazi cover up is being argued with semantics of whether the jihadist group that attacked the U.S. consulate in Benghazi on September 11, 2012 was part of the "core" al Qaeda network. State Department deputy spokeswoman Marie Harf said,

"…at this point, we have no indications that core al-Qaida, which I think is what most people are referring to when they talk about, quote, al-Qaida, directed or planned what happened in Benghazi. …..So it is not the U.S. Government's assessment or position that Ansar al-Sharia is an affiliate of core al-Qaida. We don't recognize them as an affiliate of core al-Qaida… These folks don't carry ID cards. They don't come out and wear a t-shirt that says, 'I belong to al-Qaida,' right?"

I beg to differ. In addition to the tremendous amount of evidence and statements by members of the House Intelligence Committee claiming that intelligence indicates al Qaeda was involved and that Ansar al Shariah is widely believed to be affiliated with al Qaeda, there are simpler, more obvious indicators. Ms. Harf is correct, they don't carry ID cards or wear T-shirts that say "I belong to al Qaeda," but they do throw hand signs and leave graffiti behind in the same manner as gangbangers that just marked their territory after murdering their rival.

The quintessential image that is used in almost every news report about the Benghazi attacks depicts one of the assailants in a white T-shirt with an assault rifle posing with his index finger pointing up in front of the burning consulate. The man is seen in several photos making this gesture using both his left and right hands. This does not signify that he is number one. This gesture is one of the most prevalent Salafi jihadist hand signs. There are images of every al Qaeda leader, including Osama bin Laden, Abu Musab al Zarqawi and others, with their index fingers pointing skywards. Ayman al Zawahiri, the current leader of al Qaeda, is often seen in images making the hand sign. His former top lieutenant Mohammed al Jamal, of the Jamal Network, is believed to have had fighters in the assault on the U.S. diplomatic compound and they would be familiar with this gesture. In October, the State Department designated the Jamal Network as a terrorist group tied to al Qaeda.

The hand gesture also appears on jihadist forums, protest posters, Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter, and in almost every form of al Qaeda propaganda. It is also a favorite gesture among Chechen jihadists, members of the Caucasus Emirate, those most likely responsible for the recent suicide bombings that killed at least 31 people in the city of Volgograd, Russia. Their leader, Doku Umarov, has also been photographed making the jihadi hand sign. For Salafi jihadists groups, the hand gesture of the index finger pointing up represents one God and their willingness to die for Islam, thus attaining martyrdom and entrance into paradise. This Islamist hand sign is also commonly used by radical Imams around the globe while they are recruiting young men to join the global jihad and murder soldiers in their own countries. Although this hand gesture is one of the most recognizable signs of al Qaeda-affiliated jihadist groups, the Obama administration either overlooked, or worse, were unaware of the identifier when they portrayed the attack as a spontaneous protest against an anti-Islam film.

If there is any doubt that Ansar al Sharia Libya is affiliated with al Qaeda, the hand with the index finger pointing up is the central image of their logo. It also happens to be the primary image in the center of al Qaeda's logo and al Qaeda-affiliated group logos, such as Jaish al Muhajireen awl Ansar in Syria, al Qaeda in Iraq, Palestinian Taliban and others. Similar to street gangs, symbols and gestures demonstrate affiliation with their larger organizations, such as Folk Nation or People Nation. Like the Bloods or the Crips, Ansar al Sharia should be viewed as one street gang in the al Qaeda Nation. Distinctions between "core" al Qaeda are irrelevant as these Mujahideen gang bangers share the same goals and the same enemies.

If the gesture was not enough, the Jihadist gangbangers also decided to leave their mark in graffiti. Two different spray-painted Arabic-language graffiti messages that read "Allahu Akbar" were scrawled on the buildings of the U.S. diplomatic facilities in Benghazi, Libya during the 2012 terror attack. Spray painting "Allahu Akbar" is becoming very popular among young jihadists who are vandalizing churches and war monuments with their battle cry in graffiti. Of course, the State Department could claim that the graffiti was just a benign expression of faith, except for the four dead Americans and the burned-out U.S. consulate building.

In combination with the quintessential photo of the assailant using the al Qaeda jihadist hand gesture, the messaging was clear that it was not an anti-Islam film protest. Of course, you have to suspend political correctness to be able to interpret the signs that are literally on the wall. Gang identifiers are visual or verbal ways that gang members identify their affiliation. Law enforcement is trained on gang identifiers so that they can recognize violent incidents as being affiliated with particular street gangs or Security Threat Groups. Unfortunately, training on Islamist identifiers is currently prohibited under the Obama administration, which is why obvious signs continue to go unrecognized.

Benghazi: From 'See No Sharia' to Ansar al-Sharia

The Obama administration's wall of mendacity surrounding the murderous 9/11/12 jihadist attack on our Benghazi, Libya diplomatic compound has collapsed under an avalanche of released State Department internal e-mails.

Even the reliable mainstream media Obama sycophants may be compelled to report the story broken by Reuters (Tuesday evening, 10/23/12).  Within two hours of the attack, the State Department was aware that the jihadist group Ansar al-Sharia -- declared by the State Department itself to be an al-Qaeda affiliate -- had claimed responsibility for the raid (or more appropriately, "razzia").  These e-mails were disseminated by the State Department to sundry "redacted national security platforms," such as the White House Situation Room, the Pentagon, the FBI, the Director of National Intelligence, and the State Department.  An estimated 300-400 national security figures obtained these e-mails -- including persons working directly below the administration's leading national security, military, and diplomatic officials -- "in real time almost as the raid was playing out and concluding."

Who is Ansar al-Sharia?  "AL-QAEDA IN LIBYA: A PROFILE" was an August 2012 report prepared by the Combating Terrorism Technical Support Office, a Pentagon program office under the aegis of the assistant secretary of defense for special operations and low-intensity conflict.   The report emphasized how Al-Qaeda Senior Leadership (AQSL), working via a large, powerful, and well-established jihadist infrastructure in Libya -- including, prominently, Ansar al-Sharia -- sought to capitalize on the U.S. and NATO-supported insurrection which toppled the Libyan despot Gaddafi, and fulfill its goal of making Libya part of an eventual transnational caliphate.

A sizable, ominous Ansar al-Sharia public rally during June 2012 was highlighted in the August 2012 Pentagon report, which also noted the unwillingness of Libya's sharia-supporting central government to contend with these ostensibly "more radical" avatars of sharia supremacism:

In June 2012, Ansar al-Sharia staged a large-scale rally and military show of force involving dozens of military vehicles, with Islamists wearing the Afghan mujahidin's traditional outfit. Some leaders described themselves as Islamists and called for implementation of sharia similar to that which the Taliban had implemented in Afghanistan or al-Qaeda in Somalia and Yemen. The military show of force consisted of a parade in which some 30 battalions from Benghazi, Darnah, Misrata, Al-Nufilyah, Ajdabiyah, and other Libyan towns took part in the first meeting in support of sharia in Benghazi. Islamist leaders pointed out that the aim of the military parade was to terrorize (Arabic: irhab) those who do not want to be judged by God's law. Islamist leaders urged the Transitional National Council to clarify the identity of the state as Islamic or secular. Such a system of local affiliates might use neighborhood mosques as a support infrastructure for a religious and popular movement that could frighten politicians attempting to run on a moderate Islamic platform. ... A weak Islamist-dominated central government is unlikely to confront such a radical movement, at least in the short term. The minister of religious affairs expressed his government's weakness when he lamented the "hijacking" of mosques by extremist imams imposed by militiamen. Two of these local Islamist-oriented militias -- Ansar al-Sharia and al-A'hrar Libya -- are the tip of the iceberg. They broadcast typical al-Qaeda-type propaganda on the Internet, and they have adopted the black flag, which symbolizes commitment to violent jihad promoted by AQSL

With resigned sobriety, the Pentagon report emphasized how such jihadist/al-Qaeda discourse resonates among a significant swath of the Libyan population

AQSL's discourse may attract a sizable audience, especially among disenchanted former rebels, insecure tribal leaders, and Salafist clerics that could be turned into a support network and recruiting tool for jihadists. As demonstrated by ongoing rallies of supporters of the implementation of sharia, the Salafist movement is gaining ground in Libya and is most likely to adopt an uncompromising stance with regard to sharia and secularism close to the one typically promoted by al-Qaeda.

The salient features of sharia, Islamic law, and its appeal as demonstrated by recent polling data from Libya's North African Muslim neighbors, Morocco and Egypt, are summarized below.

Derived from Islam's most important canonical texts -- the Koran and hadith -- and their interpretation and codification by Islam's greatest classical legists, sharia is not merely holistic, in the general sense of all-encompassing, but totalitarian, regulating everything from the ritual aspects of religion to personal hygiene to the governance of an Islamic state, bloc of states, or global Islamic order.  Clearly, this latter political aspect is the most troubling, being an ancient antecedent of more familiar modern totalitarian systems.  Specifically, sharia's liberty-crushing and dehumanizing political aspects feature: open-ended jihadism to subjugate the world to a totalitarian Islamic order; rejection of bedrock Western liberties -- including freedom of conscience and speech -- enforced by imprisonment, beating, or death; discriminatory relegation of non-Muslims to outcast, vulnerable pariahs, and even Muslim women to subservient chattel; and barbaric punishments which violate human dignity, such as amputation for theft, stoning for adultery, and lashing for alcohol consumption.

But is this ancient, brutally oppressive totalitarian system still popular amongst the Muslim masses, particularly within North Africa?  In a word, "yes."  Polling data were released April 24, 2007 from a rigorously conducted face-to-face University of Maryland/ WorldPublicOpinion.org interview survey of Muslims conducted between December 9, 2006 and February 15, 2007. Seventy-one percent (71%) of the 1,000 Moroccans, and 67% of the 1,000 Egyptians surveyed, desired this outcome: "To unify all Islamic countries into a single Islamic state or Caliphate."  The internal validity of these data about the present longing for a caliphate was strongly suggested by a concordant result: 76% of Moroccan Muslims and 74% of Egyptian Muslims approved the proposition "To require a strict [emphasis added] application of Sharia law in every Islamic country."

Returning to the August 2012 Pentagon report, its EXECUTIVE SUMMARY raises serious questions about the callous inattention to security for U.S. diplomatic and ancillary personnel in Benghazi, and more importantly, the abysmal See No Sharia failure of imagination regarding overall U.S. policy in Libya, which has abetted the most fanatical jihadist movement extant -- al-Qaeda itself.

Al-Qaeda has established a core network in Libya, but it remains clandestine and refrains from using the al-Qaeda name...Ansar al-Sharia, led by Sufian Ben Qhumu, a former Guantanamo detainee, has increasingly embodied al-Qaeda's presence in Libya, as indicated by its active social-media propaganda, extremist discourse, and hatred of the West, especially the United States. Al-Qaeda adherents in Libya used the 2011 Revolution to establish well-armed, well-trained, and combat-experienced militias... The al-Qaeda clandestine network is currently in an expansion phase, running training camps and media campaigns on social-media platforms, such as Facebook and YouTube. However, it will likely continue to mask its presence under the umbrella of the Libyan Salafist movement, with which it shares a radical ideology and a general intent to implement sharia in Libya and elsewhere.

And one of the apparent U.S. avatars of this grossly misbegotten policy is now its most prominent victim cum "martyr" -- namely, Ambassador Christopher Stevens.  Two (here, here) profoundly disturbing classified cables written by Stevens during 2008 [hat tips Diana West, here, here] capture this warped mindset.  They reveal a Stevens cavorting with the very Libyan Muslim denizens of Derna -- a longstanding, proud hotbed of jihad which was a hub of the aggressive late 18^th- through early 19^th-century North African Barbary jihad campaigns against the U.S. -- who were proudly sending their sons to be homicide bombers in Iraq attacking, and killing or grievously wounding U.S. troops there, at the highest per capita rate of any location in Islamdom.  One memo is more than sympathetic to this hotbed of jihadism; it is almost reverent (Stevens repeats uncritically their self-characterization as being like Bruce Willis in the movie Die Hard -- even entitling his cable "Diehard in Derna") --  and one can see the germ of the idea for the strategy ultimately employed to overthrow Gaddafi spearheaded by jihadists like Stevens' erstwhile colleagues in Derna.

The horrific, depressing spectacle of our great nation's willing exploitation by violent sharia supremacists brings to mind a remarkably candid assessment by the 18^th-century Moroccan Sufi "master" Ibn Ajibah from his Koranic commentary, a work I was made aware of by my colleague, Dr. Mark Durie.  Describing unabashedly the purpose of the humiliating Koranic poll tax (as per Koran 9:29) of submission for non-Muslims brought under Islamic hegemony by jihad, Ibn Ajibah makes clear the ultimate goal of its imposition was to achieve what he called the death of the "soul," through the dhimmis’ execution of their own humanity:

[The dhimmi] is commanded to put his soul, good fortune and desires to death.  Above all he should kill the love of life, leadership and honor. [The dhimmi] is to invert the longings of his soul, he is to load it down more heavily than it can bear until it is completely submissive. Thereafter nothing will be unbearable for him. He will be indifferent to subjugation or might. Poverty and wealth will be the same to him; praise and insult will be the same; preventing and yielding will be the same; lost and found will be the same. Then, when all things are the same, it [the soul] will be submissive and yield willingly what it should give.  [Tafsir ibn 'Ajibah.  Commentary on Q9:29. Ahmad ibn Muhammad Ibn 'Ajibah]

Cynically ignoring sharia doctrines and practices that permanently endanger the life, liberty, and property of non-Muslims, U.S. policymakers -- epitomized by the murdered Libyan Ambassador Stevens -- have sacrificed U.S. lives, and our nation's soul.

Benghazi: Obama's Actions Amount To A Shameful Dereliction Of Duty

Enough facts are in the public record about the Benghazi murders of Libyan Ambassador Chris Stevens and 3 others, including two Marines, that a final judgment can be rendered on President Obama’s handling of the affair.  Obama’s actions, or inactions, amounted to dereliction of duty, and worse.

The Obama Administration received requests for additional security from the Embassy and the Ambassador himself as early as February.  An embassy cable on June 25 expressed fear of rising Islamic extremism in eastern Libya around Benghazi, and noted that the black flag of Al-Qaeda “has been spotted several times flying over government buildings and training facilities.” On August 2, Ambassador Stevens sent a cable requesting 11 additional body guards, noting “Host nation security support is lacking and cannot be depended on to provide a safe and secure environment for the diplomatic mission of outreach,”

But these requests for additional security were repeatedly denied, as security officials testified before Chairman Darrell Issa’s House Oversight Committee earlier this month.  Obama and his allies did not want a show of American force in the country that would offend Muslim sensibilities.  They wanted to rely instead on the host country’s security that the embassy was telling them was inadequate and could not be depended upon.

As the anniversary of 9/11 approached, the Obama Administration should have known that more security was necessary to protect diplomatic missions in the increasingly hostile country, especially on that sensitive date.  But they did just the opposite, reducing security.  The Wall Street Journal reported on October 10 that the Administration removed a well armed, 16 member, security detail from Libya in August, to be replaced by the Libyan security personnel that Ambassador Stevens had just told them could not be relied upon.

Based on documents released by the House Oversight Committee, the day of the attack on the American consulate in Benghazi, September 11, the White House situation room starts receiving emails at about 1 pm that the mission is under hostile surveillance.  The only response was that the Pentagon sends a drone armed with a video camera so that everyone in Washington can see what transpires in real time, as it happens, at the White House, at the State Department, at the Pentagon, at the CIA.

The drone documents no crowds protesting any video.  But at 4 pm Washington receives an email from the Benghazi mission that it is under military style attack. Subject: “U.S. Diplomatic Mission in Benghazi Under Attack.” The email states,

“The Regional Security Officer reports the diplomatic mission is under attack. Embassy Tripoli reports approximately 20 armed people fired shots; explosions have been heard as well.  Ambassador Stevens, who is currently in Benghazi, and four COM personnel are in the compound safe haven.  The 17^th of February militia is providing security support.”

The attack was then fed to all of them, the White House, the Pentagon, the State Dept., the CIA, through live video feed.  A later email that day reported, “Ansar al-Sharia Claims Responsibility for Benghazi Attack.”  The feed showed no protest of any supposedly offensive You Tube video.

Just one hour flight time away were U.S. Air Force bases that could have been rousted in minutes to send fighter planes and attack helicopters that could have routed the attackers in minutes of fighting.  As Investors Business Daily editorialized on October 24, “Within an hour’s flight time from Libya, at the large naval air station in Sigonella, Italy, and at bases in nearby Aviano and Souda Bay, were fighters and AC 130 gunships that can be extremely effective in dispersing crowds or responding to a terrorist assault.” But the order for the rescue never came.  Maybe because Barack Obama did not want to offend Muslim sensibilities by such a show of force.

The IBD editorial summarized the situation by the next morning as follows:

“When President Obama and Secretary of State Clinton stepped into the Rose Garden the morning of September 12, they likely knew [correction: they surely knew] the attack on our Benghazi consulate the day before was organized by terrorists.  They knew because they were privy to a flurry of emails among administration officials discussing the attack in real time.  Yet they said nothing about what they knew and, worse, had done nothing to mount a rescue despite American forces being less than an hour away during the seven hour blitz.  According to Fox News, 300 to 400 national security figures received these emails in real time almost as the raid was playing out and concluding.  These people work directly under the nation’s top national security, military and diplomatic officials.”

By then everyone knew how the battle of Benghazi had turned out.  The United States Ambassador to Libya, the personal representative of President Barack Obama, had been tortured, sodomized, dragged bloody through the streets of Benghazi, and murdered.  Chris Stevens, along with the two Marines and another who were murdered along with him, had volunteered to serve his country.  But under the leadership of Barack Obama, that is how his service ended.

By the evening of that next day, Commander-in-Chief Barack Obama was jetting off to a campaign fundraiser in Las Vegas, followed by parties with Jay-Z and Beyonce.  Chris Stevens was already out of sight, out of mind.  Except that Commander Obama could not wash off the stench of dereliction of duty, duty to far more worthy American warriors and servicemen, dereliction in failing to authorize worthy security for those who were sent in harms way under his leadership, and to order a timely rescue when he could.  For such failure, any commander serving under the commander-in-chief should be court martialed.  But the President expects you to give him four more years of such “leadership.”

The Truth-Challenged President

But the saga did not end there for the American people.  The rest of us had to endure the President, Secretary of State Clinton, and UN Ambassador “explaining” to us that what really happened was that those irascible Muslims were all incited out of their minds by a previously unseen, unheard of You Tube video trailer by an unknown American immigrant, a movie that was never made outside the trailer advertising it, in Fool on the Hill style.  Their protest had just got out of hand, you see.

Except they all knew when they were saying these very words that they were untrue.  They were precisely calculated to deceive and to mislead.  Yet there was our President Obama telling this mendacious fairy tale to the entire world at the U.N.  And there was U.N. Ambassador Susan Rice telling the American people the same concocted fairy tale.  Typical Progressives, they were so certain that they could easily buffalo a majority of their countrymen, no smarter than the representative Homer Simpson.

An incredulous IBD editorialized, “How could emails be sent to the White House Situation Room in real time describing a terrorist attack on sovereign U.S. territory in which four Americans were killed as it happened, and as a drone flew overhead recording the truth of the carnage, and the President and Secretary of State insist that it was all about a video and there was no evidence to the contrary.”

Or as Glenn Beck (yes Glenn Beck, and you can go read some New York Times lying propaganda if you don’t like it), summarized at his website The Blaze,

“The president of the United States of America, the Secretary of Defense, the Secretary of State have all lied to you. They have lied to you and said this might be a video; we don’t have all the information; the information is still sketchy; it’s confusing. No. We now have the documents. We now have the documents that came into the situation room saying there’s an attack; they’re watching. Then we have the documents that we have a live video feed in the situation room, so they could see that there was no protest.”

How Clueless Does He Think We Are?

But the lies did not end even there.  The President then went into a nationally televised debate with GOP nominee Mitt Romney, and before the whole country, expected to pull off another lie denying that he had lied, indeed, denying that what the entire country had just seen and heard, from him, from his Secretary of State, from his U.N. Ambassador, had even just happened.

Obama explained at the debate, “The day after the attack, Governor, I stood in the Rose Garden and I told the American people and the world that we are going to find out exactly what happened.  That this was an act of terror and I also said that we’re going to hunt down those who committed this crime.”

An exasperated Mitt Romney, shocked at the brazenness of this Soviet style propaganda, exclaimed, “I think interesting the President just said something which – which is that on the day after the attack he went into the Rose Garden and said this was an act of terror.”

  “That’s what I said,” Obama lied in response.  Romney leaped at the brazen discrepancy with reality, saying “I want to make sure we get that for the record because it took the President 14 days before he called the attack in Benghazi an act of terror.”   Obama replied, “Get the transcript.”

It was a transparently pre-arranged, Soviet propaganda style, ambush that the supposed moderator Candy Crowley then jumped in to say, “He did in fact sir.”  Obama then brazenly demonstrated his mastery over the Democrat Party controlled media, outright ordering right there before the American people, “Can you say that a little louder, Candy?”  Crowley stood at attention, saluted, and “reported”: “He did call it an act of terror.”

This was so transparently pre-arranged because the transcript of the next day’s Rose Garden ceremony, in fact, does not report what Obama fantasized and Crowley “reported.”  The transcript in plain black and white shows that Obama was not even talking about Benghazi when he mentioned terror, but about terrorism more generally, as displayed on 9/11.  Do you see precisely the further “calculated deception?”

Romney alone among the three, ever sharp as a tack, and fully on top of the facts, persisted in recalling the truth: “The Administration indicated this was a reaction to a video and was a spontaneous reaction….It took them a long time to say this was a terrorist act by a terrorist group.”

Obama again interrupted and appealed to his plant for a further bailout, calling out, “Candy?” But Romney maintained his control and his ever classy demeanor, and unruffled by the blatant, Soviet style propaganda he was enduring, cut off this interruption, “Excuse me.  The ambassador of the United Nations went on the Sunday television shows and spoke about how this was a spontaneous…” But Obama interrupted again, appealing further for help, “Candy, I’m happy to have a longer conversation about foreign policy.”  Crowley took the cue again from the Boss, “I know you, absolutely, but I want to move you on….”  A relieved Obama responded with obvious joy, “OK. I’m happy to do that too.”

This spectacle of the President lying about his own lies to a national debate audience is unprecedented in American politics.  It shows an absurdly haughty attitude, and an arrogant disrespect for the intelligence and awareness of the American people.  But an Obama supporter calling into the Glenn Beck radio program indicated that Obama may be on to something after all.  When Beck asked her, “Where is Benghazi?” she responded, “He is at Walmart.”

The murder of Ambassador Stevens and three other American officials in Benghazi, Libya is indeed beginning to sound like a reprehensible scandal of lies, deceit and abandonment to terrorism that we can and should call Benghazigate.

It seems like every day snippets of information are released revealing the true picture of what happened in Benghazi. It has been revealed that the State Department knew within two hours the attack was planned and organized by terrorists AND that they knew who the terrorists were - Ansar al-Sharia which is an al Qaeda connected Islamic Terrorist group.

So here is the picture: the State Department and White House knew this was a terrorist attack yet the White House, Secretary of State Clinton and U.S. Ambassador to the U.N. Susan Rice all laid the blame for the deaths of Americans in Benghazi to a badly made movie trailer entitled “Innocence of Muslims”. If you had seen this trailer you would understand this movie had quality of garage production mocking Mohammed. Would Muslims be offended? Absolutely! Would Muslims across the Islamic world spontaneously riot on the anniversary of 9/11 attacking American Embassies because of a movie trailer of dubious quality that had been out for months? NO! Spontaneity indicates no planning.

Fox News Video: When will We Know the Truth about Benghazi Attack?

The reality is there was nothing spontaneous about any of the riot attacks on American Embassies in the Islamic world. They were all organized by Islamic Terrorists or purist Islamic organizations (aka Radical Islam or Islamism) to coordinate with the Islamic attack on American soil on 9/11. In Libya’s case the riot was incited as a ruse to a pre-planned attack on the Benghazi Consulate with the intention to kill the inhabitants. The only thing I wonder about is if the Ansar al-Sharia terrorists knew that Ambassador Chris Stevens was there on that day. I wonder this because it has been proven that Ambassador Stevens had asked for more security because of the suspicion of an imminent terrorist attack.

The response to the request was to ignore it. That means the State Department ignored the threat or was following Obama guidelines to beef up a military presence at the Libyan Embassy and Consulate. Why would such a request be ignored by the Obama Administration? My guess is that at the time it was more of a priority to be non-aggressive to the Muslim world than it was to protect Americans on diplomatic soil considered American because maintaining a politically correct image to anti-war Leftist-Democratic Party constituents in an election year was more important.

The attitude of trying to paint Romney a warmonger by Obama in the last debate brings me to this conclusion. If Romney would have gone after Obama’s failure at Benghazigate President Obama was obviously prepared to paint a picture that he was the man of international peace and that Romney would be a warmonger President if elected. I am certain it would yet another blame Bush moment. Obama would deceitfully paint the picture Bush started unnecessary wars and perpetuated them into long years, then Obama would come and deliver America from a decade’s long war began by Bush Republicans. Obama would accuse Romney of perpetuating the Bush legacy of war.

As if it was wrong for President Bush go after the foreigners that attacked Americans on American soil, right? AGAIN wrong! America should seek to destroy Islamic terrorists globally that might be a threat to Americans at home or Americans travelling abroad. To do anything else is just idiotic appeasement. The foreign policy of appeasement is just a projection of weakness that incites violence against the appeasers.

How wise a man is Mitt Romney? Wise enough to know that Obama is a master manipulating deceiver! Obama prepared for the last debate to confront his Benghazigate lies by deflecting that Romney was a warmonger. Romney was ready and thus did allow the deceiver-President to manipulate Romney’s image.

BENGHAZI COVER-UP: 'THIS DWARFS WATERGATE'

'The regime is barely holding its campaign together'

PALM BEACH, Fla. – New information suggesting the Obama administration was fully aware of the terror attack at the U.S. consulate in Benghazi, Libya, within two hours of the breakout of violence is being blasted as a cover-up of major proportions, with the help of national media who are ignoring the revelation.

“This dwarfs Watergate, weapons of mass destruction, whatever,” said radio host Rush Limbaugh Wednesday afternoon.

“This dwarfs Iran-Contra, about which the media spent three solid years trying to take out Ronald Reagan. The latest shoe to drop in the Benghazi disaster is the news that the State Department was e-mailing about the attack on the consulate and the terrorists who they thought were behind it within two hours, and the e-mails went to the Situation Room of the White House. Obama knew.”

For weeks after the Sept. 11 attack in Benghazi, Obama and his surrogates proffered that the violence was merely an improptu response to an anti-Muslim video.

But reports today from several agencies including Reuters and CBS News reveal the administration knew precisely what was going on almost immediately, courtesy of emails.

Sharyl Attkisson at CBS says: “At 4:05 p.m. Eastern time, on September 11, an alert from the State Department Operations Center was issued to a number government and intelligence agencies. Included were the White House Situation Room, the office of the Director of National Intelligence, and the FBI.

“‘US Diplomatic Mission in Benghazi Under Attack” — “approximately 20 armed people fired shots; explosions have been heard as well. Ambassador Stevens, who is currently in Benghazi, and four COM (Chief of Mission/embassy) personnel are in the compound safe haven.’”

And Reuters reports the emails specifically mention the Libyan group called Ansar al-Sharia had asserted responsibility for the attacks.

Limbaugh said for the administration to keep claiming it was reaction to a video was worse than misleading.

“They lied, folks. I don’t know how else to say it,” he said. “They knew exactly what happened and who was responsible for it and they knew what was happening. They knew it was not a video, they knew it was not a protest that had gotten out of hand … . It was a preplanned terror attack. There was real-time video of it.”

Limbaugh also scorched Obama for not sending in U.S. military to help the Americans at the consulate:

“The president may not have been aware that he had aircraft carriers in the region that planes land on and take off from and they go out and complete missions and they come back and they land. And we got these things they call submarines. They go under the water so the bad guys can’t see ‘em. They’re in the region, too. We got some naval assets in that region that could have been used.

“They could have been authorized to take action to save the lives of Americans. Remember: Four dead in a seven-hour attack, two of them died in the final hours. This government made not one move, with full knowledge of what was going on, to protect those Americans. We had hundreds of people watching in real time, folks, as 30 Americans were being attacked for seven hours. Nobody rode to their rescue.”

Limbaugh says most of the national media is now ignoring the revelations from the emails.

“What we’re watching here today is the equivalent of Woodward and Bernstein helping Nixon cover up Watergate,” he said. “The mainstream media is Woodward and Bernstein. Watergate is Benghazi. Except this time, Woodward and Bernstein are helping Nixon cover it up.”

“It’s just maddening,” he continued, “and to have the story basically ignored and covered up today is evidence to me of just how devastating it is. I think the regime is barely holding its campaign together. I think this campaign is leaking. Imagine a dike with all the holes in it, and the holes are the states, and the regime has got people plugging the holes with fingers and doing everything they can to stop the flow. I think they’re very close here to being swept away by a tidal wave. I think everybody involved knows it.”

He suggested several theories as to why the events have transpired as they have, including “gross, unbelievable, incalculable incompetence;” “bald-faced lying;” and a political calculation since Obama has been claiming al-Qaida terrorists have been decimated under his watch.

“There’s another possibility here,” added Limbaugh. “It could be very simple. Obama simply wasn’t engaged when this was going on. He wasn’t around. He didn’t want to be engaged. He didn’t want to be told. He didn’t want to have to do anything. And therefore, they were paralyzed. Nobody knew what to do because he didn’t care.”
