An Intro to Hillel Neuer ‘Lies, Terror, and Jew-Hatred’

John R. Houk, Blog Editor

December 10, 2024

The RAIR Foundation took a look at and reported on a speaking event of Hillel Neuer in Montreal Canada that focuses on United Nations Antisemitism as a mouthpiece for HAMAS Muslim terrorists calling themselves Palestinians.

I have every expectation that Jew-Haters and Anti-Israel propagandists (that remarkably crosses all sides of the ideological aisle) will engage in profane and self-deluded attempts at balanced criticism based on propaganda. I have found responding to such Antisemitism is a fruitless effort – so heads up! – I will not respond to libelous profanity and I will definitely DELETE anything I strongly disagree with that has the appearance of Jew-Hatred.

The RAIR Foundation post emphasizes a 1:29:15-Hour long video. The video appears toward the top of the post. Since the video is a bit lengthy, in this cross post I am placing the video at the end. The Amy Mek post analysis of Hillel Neuer’s speech is better to digest prior to watching the speech itself.

“UNRWA is not a humanitarian organization; it is the propaganda arm of Hamas. These so-called aid workers crossed the border with terrorists, slaughtered civilians, and kidnapped children. These are the people teaching in UNRWA schools.” — Hillel Neuer, Executive Director of UN Watch

Montreal, CanadaHillel Neuer, the dynamic and fearless Executive Director of UN Watch, delivered a searing address on Sunday during a powerful event hosted by the Canadian Institute for Jewish Research (CIJR) in Montreal. Neuer, renowned worldwide as one of the fiercest critics of the United Nations’ systemic failures, corruption, and hypocrisy, brought a sobering reality to light: the United Nations (UN) has not only failed to uphold its founding principles but has become a central enabler of antisemitism, terror propaganda, and moral relativism on the global stage.

Neuer, a native of Montreal, spoke to a small audience comprising academics, community leaders, students, and intellectuals. RAIR Foundation was on hand to capture the entire event and its powerful message. His fiery remarks served both as a warning and a rallying cry, as he systematically exposed the deep institutional rot within the UN and its agencies, particularly the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA), the UN Human Rights Council (UNHRC), and senior UN officials while addressing the rapid rise of anti-Israel street actions fueled by neo-Marxist and radical Islamic ideologies.

The Legacy of the UN: From Hope to Corruption

Neuer began by evoking the founding vision of the United Nations in 1948, a post-Holocaust institution formed to prevent the recurrence of “barbarous acts which have outraged the conscience of mankind.” He reflected on the adoption of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, spearheaded by Eleanor Roosevelt, Canadian legal scholar John Humphrey, and French philosopher RenĂ© Cassin.

“The UN was meant to be the global response to atrocities like the Holocaust,” Neuer stated. “Instead, it has become the perpetrator’s accomplice, serving the world’s worst regimes while demonizing the one country that represents the Jewish people’s right to self-determination: Israel.”

Neuer exposed the institutional antiSemitism embedded within the UN, highlighting examples of its moral inversion:

§  Agenda Item 7 at the Human Rights Council: A permanent agenda item exclusively devoted to condemning Israel, while other nations, no matter how egregious their abuses, escape such treatment. “China, Cuba, Iran, Russia – regimes that oppress millions never receive this level of scrutiny. But Israel, the Jewish state, is singled out at every session.”

§  The UN General Assembly’s Resolutions: Neuer presented shocking figures revealing that Israel has been condemned more than Iran, Syria, North Korea, and China combined over the past decade. “This is not about human rights,” he declared. “It’s about using the UN as a weapon to delegitimize Israel and, by extension, the Jewish people.”

The Role of UNRWA: A Terror-Enabling Agency

The bulk of Neuer’s address focused on the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA)—an organization he described as the “heart of the problem.”

Initially created to provide humanitarian assistance to Palestinian refugees following the 1948 war, UNRWA has evolved into an entrenched political tool that perpetuates conflict, glorifies terrorism, and radicalizes generations of Palestinians. Neuer minced no words as he presented damning evidence:

1. Direct Complicity in Terrorism:
Neuer highlighted that at least 12 UNRWA staff members actively participated in the October 7 Hamas massacre, an attack in which over 1,200 Israelis were brutally murdered. “These so-called aid workers crossed the border with terrorists, slaughtered civilians, and kidnapped children. These are the people teaching in UNRWA schools.”

2. Terror Tunnels and Infrastructure:
Neuer referenced the discovery earlier this year of a Hamas terror tunnel beneath UNRWA’s Gaza headquarters, complete with a computer server connected to the agency’s operations. “UNRWA leadership claimed ignorance. But ten years ago, staff reported that the ground beneath their compound was sinking. Everyone knew.”

3. Hamas Leadership in UNRWA:
Neuer exposed that key figures within UNRWA’s Teachers Union, such as Faki Al-Sharif in Lebanon and Suheil Al-Hindi in Gaza, were not only senior UNRWA officials but also active leaders within Hamas.
These men were not anomalies. They represent the system itself. The teachers union, the schools, the leadership—everything is infiltrated by terrorists.”

4. Glorification of Violence:
Citing UN Watch’s meticulous investigations, Neuer revealed thousands of examples where UNRWA staff members used social media to celebrate the October 7 massacre, glorify Adolf Hitler, and call for the destruction of Israel.

“UNRWA is not a humanitarian organization; it is the propaganda arm of Hamas,” Neuer charged. “And yet Canada, the United States, and Europe continue to fund it, blindly endorsing its complicity.”

The Weaponization of Human Rights and Rise of Francesca Albanese

Neuer turned his attention to Francesca Albanese, the UN’s Special Rapporteur on Human Rights in the Palestinian Territories, describing her as a textbook antisemite and ideological enabler of terror.

He cited her repeated justifications for Palestinian violence and her infamous remark at a Hamas-led conference: “You have the right to resist.”

“This woman, a UN-appointed official, legitimized October 7 long before it happened,” Neuer said. “Her message to Hamas was clear: your terrorism is resistance.”

Neuer condemned Amnesty International and other NGOs for amplifying the genocide accusation against Israel, calling it the “modern blood libel” designed to strip Jews of their moral legitimacy post-Holocaust.

Street Actions: Neo-Marxist and Islamic Alliances

Addressing the audience’s concerns about violent anti-Israel protests erupting across Western cities, Neuer described them as the result of a dangerous neo-Marxist and Islamic alliance that has hijacked public discourse.

Neuer explained that this alliance is not spontaneous but carefully orchestrated, pointing to the organized and coordinated nature of protests seen across major urban centers:

§  University Campuses: Elite Western institutions have become hotbeds for anti-Israel propaganda, where radical student organizations, often funded by outside forces, incite antisemitic rhetoric under the guise of “human rights.” Neuer noted the chilling scenes of students chanting genocidal slogans like “From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free”, a call to annihilate the Jewish state.

§  Street Protests: In cities like New York, London, and Montreal, these movements manifest as violent “street actions,” where radical activists openly celebrate Hamas, vandalize Jewish businesses, smash windows, desecrate synagogues, and call for “intifada” (violent uprisings).

§  Legislatures and Policy Forums: Even political spaces have been infiltrated. Neuer pointed to politicians on the radical Left, such as members of “The Squad” in the United States, who provide legitimacy to these movements through rhetoric accusing Israel of “apartheid” and “genocide.”

The neo-Marxist and Islamic alliance thrives because it suits both agendas: the Left’s war on Western values and the Islamists’ war to destroy Israel and spread terror. Together, they mask hatred as virtue and violence as justice.

Neuer explained how this alliance is not spontaneous but carefully orchestrated, “When UN officials accuse Israel of apartheid and genocide—when they equate Israel’s self-defense to war crimes—they are not just spreading lies. They are legitimizing violence. They give radical activists on campuses and in the streets the moral license to unleash chaos against Jews, Israeli supporters, and anyone who dares to defend the truth,” Neuer emphasized.

He described how this neo-Marxist framework, which pits so-called “oppressors” against the “oppressed,” conveniently casts Israel—and Jews—as villains while erasing the historical and indigenous ties of the Jewish people to their land.

“Never mind the fact that Jews are an indigenous people with deep roots in the Land of Israel for over 3,000 years,” Neuer stated. “This dangerous ideology deliberately ignores history, facts, and morality. It reduces everything to a crude, false binary where Israel—and by extension, Jews—are the villains.”

The Islamic Element

Neuer further highlighted the Islamic aspect of this coalition, explaining its genocidal goals:

§  Groups like Hamas and their supporters exploit Western movements to spread terror propaganda. Their calls for “resistance” are code for violence, as demonstrated on October 7.

§  Islamic clerics and leaders in the Middle East fund and spread anti-Israel propaganda abroad, seeding campuses, media, and public protests with lies about “Israeli apartheid” and “genocide.”

The Erosion of Antisemitism Taboos

Most alarming, Neuer argued, is the erasure of post-Holocaust taboos against antisemitism. Once relegated to the fringes, Jew-hatred has returned to mainstream discourse, often under the thin guise of “anti-Zionism.”

“The radicals have created a false moral framework where attacking Israel—through words or violence—is seen as a virtuous act. Universities cheer it. Media legitimizes it. And politicians tiptoe around it,” Neuer said.

He urged the audience to recognize that these movements are not only an attack on Israel but a broader assault on Western values, freedom, and democracy:

“This alliance—of neo-Marxist extremism and radical Islamism—seeks to destroy not just Israel but everything we stand for: truth, freedom, and moral clarity.”

A Call to Action: Light the Candle of Truth

Despite the grim realities, Neuer ended on a note of determination and hope. He praised the CIJR for its role in educating and empowering Jewish students and intellectuals, urging the audience to speak up and confront lies with the truth.

“The enemies of Israel and the Jewish people thrive on darkness—on ignorance and propaganda. Our job is to shine a light on the truth. The battle is uphill, but it’s one we must fight.”

Neuer concluded to thunderous applause, inspiring attendees to fight for justice, truth, and the defense of the Jewish state.

‘History Favors Those Who Refuse to Give In’

Hillel Neuer’s speech at CIJR was a sharp, unrelenting exposure of the United Nations’ moral collapse and its complicity in enabling terror and antisemitism. Neuer didn’t just criticize; he held the UN and Western leaders accountable for turning a blind eye to the truth while radicals spread hatred under their watch.

As anti-Israel violence sweeps across campuses and cities, Neuer’s call was clear: this is not just Israel’s fight—it’s everyone’s fight. Silence emboldens the liars, and inaction gives them the stage. It’s up to those who value truth and justice to stand up, speak out, and push back.

The battle ahead won’t be easy, but as Neuer reminded his audience, history favors those who refuse to give in.
