The Faking News Fakers: 'Wiretaps? What Wiretaps?'

Every day I try to move awake from Fake News Conspiracies and Obama’s Deep State outrages, THEN I run across another news story that simply brings my blood pressure to a boiling point.

I propose to aggregate some of these news tidbits I consider to be acts of treason.

I will begin with a stand-alone cross post from Mark Alexander of The Patriot Post looking at the hypocrisy of the Leftist MSM in posting news that fingers a wiretap against Trump YET denies that President Trump has any proof of being wiretapped.

The Faking News Fakers: 'Wiretaps? What Wiretaps?'
The Trump/Putin myth — delegitimizing Trump's election to keep the administration off-balance and derail his agenda.

Mar. 8, 2017
Email Update Sent 3/8/2017 1:07 PM

“But the fact being once established, that the press is impotent when it abandons itself to falsehood, I leave to others to restore it to its strength, by recalling it within the pale of truth. Within that, it is a noble institution, equally the friend of science and of civil liberty.” —Thomas Jefferson

Despite all the fake media hysterics, keeping the “Trump and Putin rigged the election” myth alive has nothing to do with facts. But it has everything to do with delegitimizing Trump’s stunning victory, keeping his administration off-balance and derailing his agenda.

As usual, leftists and their media sycophants never let facts get in the way of a political hatchet job.

Last weekend, Donald Trump tweeted a sensational claim — that the Obama administration tapped his phones during the 2016 presidential campaign between Trump and BO’s corrupt heir-apparent, Hillary Clinton. The Democrats' public relations department, a.k.a. the mainstream media, responded with howls that there was no evidence of any wiretaps, much less evidence Obama knew about any wiretaps — just more Trump paranoid hysteria.

However, Patriot Post editor Thomas Gallatin provided a heap of evidentiary substance for Trump’s claims, given that news of wiretaps on senior Trump leadership, while Obama was in office, had been widely affirmed by the same Leftmedia outlets now denying Trump’s claims about wiretaps. Some of the more notable MSM print and talkinghead “journalists” even cited these wiretaps as sources for their “reports” on Trump.

Gallatin pointed out that the MSM was “disingenuously dismissive” in rejecting Trump’s charge, especially given that an initial request to wiretap Trump’s team was turned down by the FISAC (Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act Court), but subsequent requests were granted.

Allow me to elaborate.

In June 2016, after Trump had clinched the Republican nomination, Obama’s Attorney General Loretta Lynch tried to meet secretly with Bill Clinton on a tarmac at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport. A few days later, after a visit to the White House, Lynch’s Department of Justice asked the FISAC for wiretaps not just for communication devices in Trump’s office but specifically for Trump’s phones.

This request never would have been submitted without Lynch’s consent, which she never would have given without Obama’s consent. (If only the NSA could produce a transcript of that conversation.) While FISAC most often rubber stamps requests, the court denied the Obama administration’s first request because it was a fishing expedition based on speculation of criminal activity.

On 21 July Trump became the Republican nominee. A week later, The Washington Post and other media outlets began propagating the Trump/Putin collusion myth.

In October, a month ahead of the presidential election, looking for any shred of evidence that might corroborate the myth, Obama’s Department of Justice again asked FISAC for wiretap warrants for Trump’s office, this time (according to our sources) omitting Trump’s name specifically and making the request on broad speculation about national security concerns. FISAC approved that request, and since such permissions apply, by extension, to others mentioned in the intercepted communications, we may fairly assume that Trump’s name was mentioned and, consequently, his lines were monitored.

Recall if you will that a week before the election, Hillary Clinton posted this social media message: “Computer scientists have uncovered a covert server linking the Trump organization to a Russian-based server.”

Huh? Did she mean the “scientists” at the Department of Justice? Was she confusing this with the discovery of her own “covert servers”?

In fact, no such evidence of the Russian link has been discovered.

Sidebar: However, there were direct links between Tony Podesta, brother of Clinton campaign chairman John Podesta, and Russians, who paid him more than $170,000 for six months of “consulting” to influence Clinton and ensure, once elected, she would reduce the sanctions Obama was compelled to impose after Putin invaded Ukraine. His firm was paid $24 million in fees in 2016, mostly from foreign interests.

Back to the media’s now-acute case of wiretap amnesia — they now insist that Trump’s wiretap accusations have no merit.

Allow me to direct your attention to a headline on the front page of The New York Times on Inauguration Day, January 20th, which boldly cites Trump wiretaps as its source for information regarding assertions about collusion between Russia and Trump’s campaign leadership team.

According to Times writer Michael Schmidt, “American law-enforcement and intelligence agencies are examining intercepted communications and financial transactions as part of a broader investigation into possible links between Russian officials and associates of President elect Donald J Trump. … The FBI is leading the investigations, aided by the National Security Agency, the CIA and the Treasury Department’s financial crimes unit. … The investigators have accelerated their efforts in recent weeks but have found no conclusive evidence of wrongdoing. [So, why is this front-page news on Inauguration Day?] One official said intelligence reports based on some of the wiretapped communications had been provided to the White House.”

Got that? Again, “some of the wiretapped communications had been provided to the White House” — while Obama was still in office.

This week, the same Times writer, Michael Schmidt, under the headline “Trump Offering No Evidence,” asserts that Trump “accused former President Barack Obama of tapping his phones at Trump Tower the month before the election, leveling the explosive allegation without offering any evidence.”

The same “no evidence” headlines were atop The Washington Post and other MSM outlets.

Terrible! Just found out that Obama had my "wires tapped" in Trump Tower just before the victory. Nothing found. This is McCarthyism!

For the record, while Trump’s social media wiretap messages were intended to imply that Obama had knowledge of the wiretaps, as is too often the case with such “loosely worded messaging,” he provided the MSM yet another “huge” opening to focus on the fallacy of his “literal message.”

Frankly, all of us should be able to take the literal words of a United States president posted on social media, literally. There is now a predictable MSM blowup pattern when Trump’s version of literal departs from the rest of the world’s reality, and these self-inflicted wounds continue to cost him precious political capital.

In this instance, the MSM used his literal messages to divert from the questionable legality of the wiretaps and their propagation of the Trump/Putin myth, and focus instead on the fact there is currently no evidence of Obama fingerprints on, or knowledge of, those wiretaps — even though Schmidt wrote in January that the wiretapped communications were provided to the White House while Obama was in office.

Let me reiterate: The July and October wiretap requests never would have been submitted without Lynch’s consent, which she never would have given without Obama’s consent. But there will likely be no fingerprints or electronic trail on these consents. Obama’s staff would have most certainly ensured that he had “plausible deniability” in regard to any knowledge of politically motivated wiretaps.

Former Attorney General Michael Mukasey concludes, “I think [Trump is] right in that there was surveillance and that it was conducted at the behest of the attorney general — at the Justice Department.” But proving it is another matter.

That notwithstanding, there is plenty of reason for anyone with an ounce of healthy skepticism to conclude, with high probability, that Trump’s communications were intercepted and, with a reasonable level of confidence, that Obama was aware of those wiretaps.

Of course, the first victim within Trump’s administration to be felled by these “non-existent wiretaps” — orchestrated and illegally released by some yet-to-be determined government hack while Obama was in office — was Trump’s nominee for National Security Advisor, Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn.

Flynn, as you may recall, was the most vocal former high-ranking military officer who opposed Obama’s nefarious “Iran Nuke Deal,” which is precisely what put him in the sights of Obama’s deep state operatives who remain within the FBI and/or CIA.

After his confirmation in January, Flynn was bushwhacked with a complicated web of media accusations based on wiretap transcripts, which were illegally distributed to Obama-friendly MSM outlets.

Though the Flynn transcripts indicated no wrongdoing, in February he fell on his own sword and resigned in order to minimize the collateral political damage to the Trump administration. (For the record, the CIA and the Departments of Justice and Treasury are now being sued by Judicial Watch, on behalf of Flynn, to see whose fingerprints are on those wiretaps.)

Amid the wiretap wars this week, you may have missed this conclusion about the Trump/Putin election collusion from former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper. According to Clapper, there wasn’t “any evidence” found by the CIA or FBI in their investigations that would indicate “any reflection of collusion between members of the Trump campaign and the Russians.”

The New York Times conceded as much in January and again in February, so why was this a front-page headline story?

But as noted previously, the Leftmedia never let facts get in the way of a political hit piece — until they’re caught in a BIG propaganda lie. In the light of truth, the political cockroaches scurry for cover.

Andrew McCarthy, a former assistant U.S. attorney and respected legal analyst, summarized the lie: “The specter of an investigation — breathless media reports of FISA-court applications, wiretaps, surveillance of agents of a foreign power, and mysterious servers; painstaking analysis of shady financial transactions involving Russian banks and funding streams — seems to make the outlandish conspiracy impossible to dismiss out of hand.”

McCarthy continued, “Into this misleading ‘Russia hacked the election’ narrative, the press and the Dems injected a second explosive allegation: Not only did Russia hack the election, but there are also enough ties between people in the Trump orbit and operatives of the Putin regime that there are grounds to believe that the Trump campaign was complicit in Russia’s hacking of the election. Transparently, the aim is to undermine the legitimacy of Trump’s election victory.”

As for the Leftmedia retreat, McCarthy notes, “Now that they’ve been called on it, the media and Democrats are gradually retreating from the investigation they’ve been touting for months as the glue for their conspiracy theory. It’s actually quite amusing to watch: How dare you suggest President Obama would ever order surveillance! Who said anything about FISAC orders? What evidence do you lunatic conservatives have — uh, other than what we media professionals been reporting — that there was any investigation of the Trump campaign?”

Constitutional attorney Mark Levin, former chief of staff to Ronald Reagan’s Attorney General Edwin Meese, asserts that while “No evidence is found” tying Trump or anyone on his team to Russia, “the wiretaps continue.”

Levin concludes, “The issue isn’t whether the Obama administration spied on the Trump campaign or transition of surrogates; the issue is the extent of it.”

Which leads me back to my original assertion: The Trump/Putin myth being propagated by the Democrats and their Leftmedia propagandists has nothing to do with facts and everything to do with derailing Trump’s agenda. However, Trump’s social media messages are certainly assisting their cause.

Footnote: Unfortunately, some of the “conservative media,” most notably Fox News, are reading off the same Beltway memos being broadcast by the Leftmedia — but then they also have advertising to sell… Fox News now has a lower rating for “somewhat credible” and higher rating for “not credible” than CNN, according to recent news credibility polling.

House Lawmakers to Nix Obama Admin-Backed Sale of U.S. Planes to Iran

Dear God in Heaven, did Obama actually believe he could sell planes to Iran and Congress would do nothing about it? Is it really too late to impeach him for treason?

House Lawmakers to Nix Obama Admin-Backed Sale of U.S. Planes to Iran
Iran angling to rebuild war fleet with American planes

November 16, 2016 5:00 am

Lawmakers in the House are expected to overwhelmingly pass new legislation on Wednesday that would prohibit the Obama administration from facilitating the sale of U.S. aircraft to Iran, according to senior congressional sources who told the Washington Free Beacon that Iran is likely to use American-made planes to rebuild its aging air force.

The legislation is viewed as an early test for the incoming Trump administration, which has broadly opposed last year’s comprehensive nuclear agreement with Iran and intimated that it would be more confrontational with the Islamic Republic.

Senior congressional sources told the Free Beacon that House leaders scheduled the vote on this bill immediately following the election to signal that lawmakers are frustrated with the Obama administration’s ongoing diplomacy with Tehran.

If approved, the new bill would bar the Obama administration from granting legal exemptions to corporations such as Boeing, which is working to finalize a multi-billion dollar landmark deal with Iran. The Obama administration has already vowed to veto the legislation.

“The American people gave us a mandate to fight radical Islamic terrorism. Preventing aircraft sales to the world’s leading terror state is a pretty good start,” said one senior GOP aide familiar with the legislation. “Clearly this is a top priority for House Republicans—we are making this the first bill we put on the floor after the election. The Boeing-Iran sale is a great opportunity for President-elect Trump to claim an early national security win.”

Rep. Peter Roskam (R., Ill.), a vocal critic of the nuclear deal and Iran’s continued military buildup, told the Free Beacon that Republican House lawmakers will easily pass the legislation.

“It’s no secret I’ve been a vocal critic of the Iran deal—it was a horrible idea at the time and it has proven even worse as we’ve learned about secret side deals and more unilateral concessions to the Mullahs,” Roskam said. “But even those who supported the [nuclear deal] should support this bill. Nothing in the Iran deal obligates the U.S. to allow American banks to finance the Islamic Republic’s efforts to rebuilt its air fleet.”

The Obama administration said in a statement late Monday that the legislation would interfere with the United States’ ability to uphold its end of the nuclear deal, which includes guarantees that Iran would be able to access the U.S. marketplace for commercial aircraft.

“The bill would undermine the ability of the United States to meet our JCPOA [Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action] commitments by effectively prohibiting the United States from licensing the sale of commercial passenger aircraft to Iran for exclusively civil end uses, as we committed to do in the JCPOA, and seeking to deter companies from pursuing permissible business with Iran,” the White House said in a statement.

Critics of the administration’s position have pointed to evidence that Iran has a history of converting civilian planes for use in its air force and military.

The Free Beacon in October disclosed several instances in which U.S.-made airplanes purchased by Iran in the 1970s had been used by Iran’s military.

Roskam told the Free Beacon at the time that there was reason to expect Iran would make similar use of any new planes it purchased from Boeing, which did not respond to a request for comment on the new legislation.

“We should not be surprised to see Iran’s latest military demonstrations feature Boeing 747s,” Roskam said. “It is incredibly irresponsible for any American company to sell products to the Islamic Republic that can easily be used for military purposes.”

“This is not hypothetical,” Roskam said. “We know the military has requisitioned Boeing planes from Iran Air in the past. Boeing is literally enhancing the military capabilities of the world’s leading state sponsor of terrorism.”

President-Elect Trump -- Where He Stands on Radical Islam

After I got over the fact my GOP fav for President in Ted Cruz lost to now President-Elect Trump, I decided to find out what I could like about him. There are actually stands I am comfortable with, but this one gravitates toward the top of the list. That is to at least recognize the radical elements of Islam are not compatible to our Constitution and our American values. Trump’s thoughts on Islam hence includes vetting Muslim immigrants or Muslim refugees that might intend to come to America for nefarious reasons.

On a Christian level, I am quite displeased that Islamic sacred writings single out Jews and Christians as people to force submission to Islam or die as well as completely denying the central tenet that makes one a Christian; viz., denying that Jesus is the Son of God, Crucified to death and arose to life from death and ascended to sit at the right hand of the Father. In Islam that belief is blasphemous worthy of death.

President-Elect Trump -- Where He Stands on Radical Islam
Policies to watch once Trump has a perspective from the Oval Office: opposition to the nuclear pact with Iran and not arming Syrian rebels.

By CLARION PROJECT STAFF
November 9, 2016

Donald Trump, president elect of the United States, spoke out on the campaign trail against radical Islam. Trump opposed the Obama administration's pressure on former Egyptian president and U.S. ally Hosni Mubarak to resign. That resignation paved the way for the rise of the Muslim Brotherhood across the Middle East. Expect President Trump to support anti-Islamist regimes in the Arab world and those individuals in America.

Trump has also said he would shut down extremist mosques in America, which would be a welcome policy to stop radicalization of America's Muslims. He will need an expert team of legal experts to accomplish that goal since opposnents [sic] will argue that the line between freedom of speech and religion and incitement to violence is razor thin.

Policies to watch once Trump has a perspective from the Oval Office will be his stated opposition to the nuclear agreement with Iran and his opposition to regime change and arming the rebels in Syria.

Below is the platform that Tump [sic] campaigned on:

Domestic Islamists

o   Shut down mosques that preach extremism

o   Would revoke the passports of Americans who travel abroad to join the Islamic State (ISIS/ISIL). Initially advocated a temporary ban on all Muslim immigration and has since scaled it back to only Muslim countries with major terrorist activity. In his national security speech in June, he proposed using ideological vetting such as support for extremist beliefs or links to extremist groups (not necessarily terrorists) in deciding who gets to enter the U.S. He cited polls showing high levels of support for Sharia governance in countries like Afghanistan.

Egypt & the Muslim Brotherhood

o   Opposed the Obama Administration's pressure on Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak to give up power.

Intelligence

o   Supports enhanced interrogation of terror suspects (considered torture by critics).

Iran

o   Opposes the nuclear deal with Iran, calling it "terrible," but "loves the concept" of a good deal.

o   Thanked by the wife of an American pastor imprisoned in Iran for bringing attention to his captivity.

o   Endorsed airstrikes on Iran's nuclear program in 2007.

ISIS, Iraq & Syria

o   Only candidate to support Russia's military intervention in Syria against rebels fighting ISIS, as well as ISIS and Al-Qaeda.

o   Opposes involvement in the civil war and arming rebels.

o   Opposes a policy of regime change towards the Assad dictatorship.

o   “I say that you can defeat ISIS by taking their wealth. Take back the oil. Once you go over and take back that oil, they have nothing. You bomb the hell out of them, and then you encircle it, and then you go in. And you let Mobil go in, and you let our great oil companies go in. Once you take that oil, they have nothing left.”

o   “I would hit [ISIS] so hard. I would find you a proper general, I would find the Patton or MacArthur. I would hit them so hard your head would spin.”

o   U.S. should not get involved in Syria by supporting the rebels or launching airstrikes in retaliation for the Assad regime's use of chemical weapons.

o   Opposed the withdrawal of U.S. troops from Iraq.

o   Opposed the invasion of Iraq and any policy aimed at removing Saddam Hussein from power.

o   U.S. should take Iraq's oil and reimburse the countries who were involved in the 2003 invasion and give $1 million to the family of every U.S. soldier who died in Iraq.

Libya

o   Would only support military action in Libya against the Muammar Gaddafi leadership if the U.S. gets to take the country's oil.

Gulf States

o   Would force Saudi Arabia and other countries to pay for the U.S. military presence that protects them.

Military Spending

o   Would increase military spending to foster deterrence.

Do Americans Care about the Wicked Web Woven to Deceive?

John R. Houk
© June 5, 2016

Most Conservatives are very aware that President Barack Hussein Obama is a liar as well as his Executive Branch flunkies. The Dems and the American Left have been making excuses for those lies by denial of the obvious, deceptive misdirection and/or cover-ups.

That is how Obama was elected in 2008: recall the lies of being a Christian for nearly a quarter century under the Black Liberation Theology racist Jeremiah Wright, friendship with homegrown American terrorist Bill Ayers and Bernardine Dohrn (Weather Underground), mentorship of Communist Frank Marshall Davis (See DTN for details on Davis-Communism), secretive and still undisclosed academic records, the lack of clarity if his Mother and Muslim Stepfather made him an Indonesian citizen while living there going to a Muslim school and undoubtedly more lies and deception I cannot think of at the moment.

AGAIN lies secured Obama’s reelection in 2012: i.e. the lies about Libyan military weapons shipped to unvetted Syrian rebels fighting Assad’s regime and the probable cover-up that led to four Americans being murdered by organized Islamic terrorists. The cover-up included blaming an obscure anti-Islam movie trailer that parodied Mohammed’s bloodthirsty sex life. The same lies also included then Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.

As part of the Obama Administration lies, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton illegally used a private email server that included the use of emailing classified information. Hillary’s misdirection was other Secretaries of State used private email servers but failed to mention that most of Secretaries did not have restrictive laws in place. Hillary’s next misdirection was claiming nothing on her server was marked as classified at the time but only later. That deceptive lie was used even knowing that the potential emailing of information that might later be marked classified was and is illegal by law. Hillary also ILLEGALLY deleted thousands of emails trying to cover-up her blatant misuse of a private email server that combined both sensitive (later marked classified) and business dealings that included nefarious foreign fund raising for the Clinton Foundation in exchange for Hillary favors. Here are three journalistic claims of illegality by Hillary:

Trust me there are more lies and cover-ups but I want to get to the one in which the Obama Administration has been caught lying to the American people and to Congress about the Iran Nuke Deal which was only a deal for Iran with zero plausible vetting by the U.S. government. Most auspiciously the Iran Nuke Deal lies were exposed by Ben Rhodes flapping his mouth either unintentionally or “braggadociously” that lies were used on Americans to gain the deals acceptance. AND the cover-up was further exposed when the admission happened that some mysterious person ordered a portion of a Press Conference exchange between State Department spokesperson Jen Psaki and Fox News correspondent James Rosen was deleted from public viewing.

Psaki/Rosen press conference State Department cover-up is exposed:

BREAKING: State Dept. Drops BOMBSHELL About Cover-Up… They Were ORDERED To Do It

Hat Tip: Right Alerts
Posted by Joseph Capulet
Right Alerts date: June 4, 2016 1:22 am

Little more than a month ago, senior Obama adviser Ben Rhodes let slip, either unwittingly or braggadociously, that he and others had essentially lied to the media and American people about the Iran nuclear deal in order to advance the administration’s narrative.

This admission raised a number of questions regarding the truthfulness of prior statements from Obama officials about the deal, compelling some to go back and check archived video of past press conferences, which in turn led to the discovery that a pertinent exchange during a 2013 State Department press conference had been edited out of the record.

That edit of an exchange between Fox News reporter James Rosen and then-State spokeswoman Jen Psaki, in which she admitted with a wink and a nod that the administration lies to keep certain information private, was initially dismissed as nothing more than a “glitch.”

However, it has now been admitted by spokesman John Kirby that the edit was no glitch, but a deliberate erasure of the record on orders from on high in the administration.

Speaking to the crew of Fox’s “The Five,” Rosen said it was “significant” that the administration effectively admitted to lying about covering up a prior admission of lying.

“I think this is a significant moment insofar as we have the United States government essentially admitting here that its spokespeople lied from the State Department podium, that they then admitted that from the State Department podium, and then tried to cover up that admission by deleting the official archive of this material, and so I’m honored to play some small role in holding our public officials to account, and we’ll see if this is the end of it,” Rosen explained.

However, the new-found truthiness of at least one member of the Obama administration only went so far, for while Kirby admitted that the edit to the tape had been ordered, he claimed not to know who had given that order.

Rosen and the rest weren’t buying that excuse, though, with Rosen surmising, “If you remember being asked to do it, you probably have a very good chance of remembering who asked you to do it.”

“The Five” co-host Dana Perino, former spokeswoman for the Bush administration, thought Rosen was too nice in his assessment of the situation, saying, “I think that their explanation falls well short of acceptable, because one, it is a violation of the Federal Records Act. It has to be.”

This administration lies, the lies about lying, then lies about lying about lying. Then, on the rare occasion that it actually slips up and tells the truth, it quickly reverts to lies and subterfuge to counteract and cover up the truth with more lies and deception.

This from the “most transparent administration in history” no less.

Please share this on Facebook and Twitter to share yet more evidence that the Obama administration is packed full of liars who lie about lying.
