During the week of April 20 – 24, 2026 Renner Ministries Youtube Channel spent the time of Rick Renner and Larry Ollison discussing themes related to his 2024 book entitled, “Hidden Mysteries and the Bible: Secrets Revealed: Aliens/UFOs, Giants, Time Travel, Multiverse, AI & Other Unexplained”. The Renner Ministries offer is $20.00 (I’m not sure if there is a time frame). The Amazon offer is threefold: Kindle ($9.99), Paperback ($17.99) & Hardcover ($26.99).
Here’s the reason my interest was piqued. My Teenage years through my early twenties I was a consume science fiction fan – both books and movies. I had amassed quite the collection of classic and pulp science fiction. During those years I ran into an Erich Von Daniken book written as a nonfiction theory entitled, “Chariots of the Gods? Unsolved Mysteries of the Past”. Von Daniken spurred a movement best described as Ancient Astronaut Theory. Wikipedia on the book. The book is originally from 1968 but Amazon has a 1984 version at various prices.
An excerpt from the Ancient Astronaut Theory citation in Unidentified Phenomena:
“Ancient Astronaut Theory (also known as the “ancient aliens” hypothesis) is the idea that intelligent extraterrestrial beings visited Earth in ancient or prehistoric times and made contact with humans, influencing the development of human civilizations. These claims suggest that many ancient structures, artifacts, and legends around the world are evidence of alien intervention – for example, that extraterrestrials helped build monuments like the Egyptian pyramids or taught early humans advanced knowledge. While the theory began as speculative fiction, it has evolved into a set of overlapping hypotheses that attempt to explain persistent anomalies in human history, mythology, and archaeology. …”
I think you get the idea of how an old science fiction fan became interested. I even watched the Ancient Aliens program on the History Channel. Alas, as a Born Again Christian I began to notice these Ancient Alien theorists began to enter the realm ALL ancient religions (including Christianity) had something to do with Extraterrestrials visiting and influence we Earthlings. SO I ENDED THAT FASCINATION!
THEN I ran into the Renner Ministry programing with Larry Ollison tackling this very subject matter with a Christian perspective. Looming in the discussions is a controversial theological concept known as Gap Theory.

“Definition and Overview
The Gap Theory, sometimes referred to as the Ruin-Restoration Theory, posits a time interval between Genesis 1:1 and Genesis 1:2. Advocates of this view suggest that the original creation described in Genesis 1:1 underwent a cataclysm or judgment. As a result, the earth “became” formless and void (or in a state of chaos), leading to a second creative act beginning in Genesis 1:2. Proponents see this as a way to reconcile certain geological or cosmic timescales with a literal reading of Genesis, while maintaining a high view of Scripture.”
If you use your favorite Search Engine (I typically disdain Google), you will discover Gap Theory and aligning theological offshoot theories have plenty of negative press ranging from worst (heresy) to least (insufficient Biblical context). In full disclosure Gap Theory makes sense to me. If you are a heavy critic, please spare me your venom. You won’t change my mind any more than I will change yours.
