The Sudanese Christian that was imprisoned with a death sentence while pregnant for being a Christian. A Sudanese Court cleared her and she was released from prison along with her two children (one a baby daughter born in jail). Today on June 24 I found out she was re-arrested as she was trying to get passage out of Sudan at Khartoum International airport. As of the time I read about Meriam’s re-arrest at CBN News no official reason was given for further incarceration.

Sudan Mom Re-Arrested One Day after Release

One day after a Sudanese court annulled her death sentence, Meriam Ibrahim was re-arrested along with her family Tuesday at the international airport in Khartoum while trying to leave the country.
Ibrahim's lawyer says no reason was given for why the family was taken into custody, saying the court did not impose any travel restrictions when it dropped the charges.
The mother of two had been sentenced to death for marrying a Christian and "abandoning" the Muslim faith.
Ibrahim, who was jailed along with her toddler son, was forced to give birth to her second child, a daughter, while in prison.

The case drew outrage from the international community. Protesters recently gathered outside the White House to demand action by the Obama administration.
"She and the children should be reunited at home with her family rather than held in prison on charges of apostasy," U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry said, calling Sudan to repeal it's (sic) anti-human rights laws.
He also suggested that Sudan repeal any Islamic laws that go against basic human rights.
Meanwhile, the American Center for Law and Justice is calling Ibrahim's arrest a "deeply troubling" development.

"The decision to take the entire family into custody is a violation of international law and we call on Sudan to release them without delay," ACLJ Executive Director Jordan Sekulow said in a statement.
Sekulow says the ACLJ has launched a global campaign on behalf of Meriam and her family.
"Now, we must focus on pressuring Sudan to release her and the family and permit them to return to the United States. Time is of the essence," he warned.
"We must apply immediate international pressure to free Meriam and her family," he continued. "And we must urge the Obama administration to grant Meriam and her American kids safe passage and immediate legal status in the United States."
So far, there is no word of reaction from the White House on Ibrahim's detainment.
