A news producer for National Public Radio has become a viral sensation after unintentionally scorching liberals during her recent appearance on “Jeopardy.”

Contestant Becky Sullivan, originally from Kansas City, Missouri, provided a hilarious climax during the Oct. 23 episode, when the Final Jeopardy clue in the category of “Flowers” stated:

“The flower pictured here is called this, also a disparaging term for people on the political left.”

Becky Sullivan could not think of the name of this flower, the bleeding heart.

While the correct response was “a bleeding heart,” Sullivan wrote “What is a pansy?” The audience erupted in laughter.

Jeopardy contestant loses all her money when she says incorrectly guesses that a flower known for a disparaging word against liberals is a pansy instead of a bleeding heart.

"I think you may have found a way to insult liberals in this country," host Alex Trebek said before and after Sullivan's incorrect answer was revealed to the audience, costing her all of her $6,000 she had earned to that point.

Despite the incorrect answer, Trebek did offer some support, saying, "although I do like pansy."

Views on YouTube of Sullivan's answer have rocketed to about 700,000 in just three days since the show aired.

Fellow contestant Sean Anderson, a law professor from Champaign, Illinois, answered correctly and became the new champion.

Later on Twitter, Sullivan expounded on her response, saying, "OK here's the deal with pansy: I actually didn't know bleeding heart was a flower. I just put the only flower I knew that was also an insult."

And she divulged some behind-the-scenes secrets of the game show, tweeting, "Insider info: this thirty seconds of footage with the Jeopardy 'music' where we're thinking and writing had to be re-taped. IT'S ALL FAKE."

This is the second time in recent months the political left has been embarrassed on "Jeopardy."

A clue on the June 3 broadcast left the geniuses literally speechless.

When shown a photograph of Barack Obama's attorney general, host Alex Trebek provided the clue:

"Here she is at her Senate confirmation hearing to be our top cop."

All three contestants had no idea, and none clicked the signaling device to even venture a guess.

When time ran out, Trebek was forced to disclose, "And the lady's name is Loretta Lynch."
