I remember how disappointed I was when Sarah Palin announced she was not running for President. In hindsight it was very prescient for Palin not to run in the 2012 cycle.
It was evident the Establishment Republicans were still running the show and only tossed bones to the true Conservative base to acquire votes. I mean look at the case of Missouri and GOP candidate Todd Akin. It is a case in point. Akin led incumbent Senator McCaskill by double digits at one time. Akin makes one faux pas about abortion and “legitimate rape”. Expectantly the Leftist Dems and RINOs were all over him for the phrase. However it was disappointing that the Establishment Republicans caved in to a Leftist PC moment and not only denounced Akin’s faux pas but informed him NO Republican Party money would go for his election campaign. Let’s face it Akin was a Tea Party Conservative with Conservative Social Values. That means Akin was too Conservative for the Establishment Republicans pulling the purse strings.
Palin would never have had the support of Establishment Republicans. That is why Mitt Romney won the nomination and lost the election. We Conservatives that are the hugest part of the GOP were left with an ‘anybody but Obama’ choice.
This is one of the reasons I am leaving the Republican Party. I will still vote for Conservative Republicans in my voting area; however I am going to actively seek another political party to get behind. When that day of the choice for a new political party occurs, if that Party is able to field candidates in my local area I will even say bye-bye to the local Conservative Republicans. That is how much I believe the Establishment Republicans screwed the opportunity to dump President Barack Hussein Obama.
Talk is finally beginning about Sarah Palin’s political choices for 2016. If Palin sticks with the GOP, she would not win the nomination OR if she wins the nomination the Establishment Republicans will undermine her campaign for President.
One reason Obama won reelection is because the Dems and the MSM presented an absolute united front to win Obama’s reelection. Whereas the GOP were divided between Conservatives and Establishment GOP, Social Conservatives and Establishment GOP, Conservatives and RINOs, Anybody but Obama Republicans and anti-Mormon Christians and so on with the scenarios of divided Republicans.
Rather than live with a disunited GOP I would rather be a part of a united front that stands against a united Leftist machine. I would rather be a part of a Conservative political organization that is united and emerging than a part of the Republican Party working against Conservative Principles that include Christian Values and an Original Intent Constitution. Sarah Palin would have a better chance of a national nomination for President in a new political party.
Here is a historical analogy.
The Republican Party came into existence favoring abolitionism in 1854. The Republican Party fielded a national candidate in John C. Fremont for the first time in 1856. The political climate of 1856 was dissatisfaction with America’s leaders which led to the division of Whig Party faithful. The Whigs and the Democratic Party were the two major political parties prior to 1856. Political parties found a migration of voters that eventually decimated the Whigs forming competing political parties. Southern Whigs notably joined the Democratic Party. The Democrats major opponents were divided between the new Republican Party and the Know Nothing movement (officially the American Party). The Republicans under Fremont almost won that election and I am guessing they may have if it was not for the Know Nothings. The eventual winner was Democrat James Buchanan that although from Pennsylvania was Southern Sympathizer politically (SA a glimpse of Buchanan’s private life).
The political divisions of 1856 led the Free North States to place Republican Abraham Lincoln in Office in 1860 causing most of the Southern Slave States to secede initiating the Civil War. Lincoln’s closest competitor in the Electoral College was Southern Democrat John C. Breckinridge.
Today America is polarized between a Leftist vision for America and a Conservative vision for America. Unfortunately the journalists of the Mainstream Media and the intelligentsia dominating the Academics in Colleges are committed to the Leftist vision. The Conservatives primary vehicle to communicating fiscal Conservatism and Social Conservatism is a free Internet and Talk Radio. The Internet and Talk Radio is currently the best way to mobilize grass roots activism to break down the stranglehold of the MSM (journalism, TV & Hollywood) and Leftist Professors.
I pray Sarah Palin is the catalyst to unite Conservatives to reverse the curse of anti-Conservative and anti-Christian of the Leftist vision for America.

Why Governor Palin Is So Dangerous (To the Left)

Her message is always one of reform, respect for life, and restoration of our founding principles. She has not veered from championing fiscal responsibility, energy independence, and a strong national defense. She always encourages standing by allies, not bowing to enemies, and unapologetically embracing American greatness. She unceasingly begs us to consider future generations, incentivize small business, and support our military. She is not prone to flip-floppery.
An additional thought is triggered by reading a post-election cri de couer delivered by pollster Pat Caddell. The speech has lots of good stuff, but focus on this crucial point:
But one fifth of the people said the most important thing was: Cares about people like me. And Obama won those voters 82 to 17. . . . . you have to have some connection with people, and we didn’t.
In any fair contest, if one compared Palin’s dedication to the welfare of the people, of all economic classes except the plutocracy and the crony capitalists, she would beat any other candidate in either party on this value of “cares about people like me.”
The need for this level of trust is particularly great for a Republican candidate, because some of our policies require a bit of explanation to convince people of their merit for the middle classes. People who pay few taxes, for example, do not immediately see why low and simple levies are good for them. If the message is delivered by Washington fat cats, they will, wisely, be skeptical. If it is delivered by someone who is trusted to have their interests at heart, they will pay attention. The same thing holds for many other core conservative policies; we promise that over time our programs advantage you. The opposition promises free stuff today.
It is difficult to think of anyone else on the conservative side who possesses this same level of connection with the people. This is why the Left will spare no effort to try to tarnish Palin and sever her connection with “people like me.” Whether or not she runs for anything in 2014 or 2016, her role as an advocate and intermediary will be crucial.
The shrewdest political remark I ever read (and I have forgotten who said it) is that voters do not really choose among specific policy proposals. Instead, they ask: “Does this candidate share my concerns and hold to the same basic values that I have?”
If the answer is “yes”, then the voter trusts the candidate to develop a superior knowledge of the best course of action and exercise this knowledge in the people’s s interest. (It is sort of analogous to whether one believes an auto mechanic is devoted to fixing your car or to maximizing your bill.) If the candidate is not seen as sharing the voter’s concerns, then no level of advertising or ten-point plans will work.
