WTO, Newbill and Gingrich

Conspiracy Theory

I noted in my last post there is a trust issue with Newt Gingrich among many Conservatives and Conspiracy Theory enthusiasts. Tony Newbill is still looking at Newt’s past with distrust. Apparently Newt’s Facebook page has added fuel to the fire of distrust by giving Newbill the boot by asking a question. Before I post Newbill’s inquiry about Newt there is probably a few things a non-Conspiracy Theory or rookie Conspiracy Theory person should know.

Well really with Newbill’s latest query you should know what the World Trade Organization (WTO).

Profile: World Trade Organization

The World Trade Organization (WTO) is an international body whose purpose is to promote free trade by persuading countries to abolish import tariffs and other barriers. As such, it has become closely associated with globalisation.

The WTO is the only international agency overseeing the rules of international trade. It polices free trade agreements, settles trade disputes between governments and organises trade negotiations.

WTO decisions are absolute and every member must abide by its rulings. So, when the US and the European Union are in dispute over bananas or beef, it is the WTO which acts as judge and jury. WTO members are empowered by the organisation to enforce its decisions by imposing trade sanctions against countries that have breached the rules. (Read More at BBC News article posted 15 September 2011 16:30 UK)

So you can see the issue for Conspiracy Theorists and Conservatives – Sovereignty. If the WTO exercises the authority given to it by signatories then the WTO could enforce a law that is either not compatible to the U.S. Constitution or with a Congressional law passed by the majority of both Houses of Congress and signed by the U.S. President. So even if the Senate ratified the treaty that establish American membership, is such a treaty Constitutional if a trade ruling by the WTO is contrary to the U.S. Constitution or Congressional rule of law?

Let’s look at some Conspiracy Theory excerpts that involve the WTO.

WTO and transnational pharmaceutical imposition

What is CODEX? (34)  In short it is an annual World Health Organisation (WHO) sponsored gathering of delegates in Europe, many of them trans-national pharmaceutical corporations who are primarily focused on increasing their market share, by pushing their desired and arbitrary regulatory “standards” into a global standard and forcing it onto the smaller local supplement industry, all in the name of “international regulatory excellence”. The Codex Committee is also bound by the World Trade Organisation (WTO) treaties.

The WTO is a global commercial police that ensures countries are required to purchase from trans-national corporations in favour of their own locally produced goods, in the name of “lowering trade barriers”.  This WHO/WTO joint effort called CODEX is in the process of wiping out local supplement companies and natural health care practices, to bring in more drug based medicine, in what is euphemistically known as “creating a level playing field”, while primarily giving the public a misleading impression that someone in the World Health Organisation (WTO) is looking after its health and safety. (CODEX by Eve Hillary; Australian Health Activist; Special Release April 1, 2005 Sydney ~ Revised April 23, 2005  - Published here May 31st, 2005)

Here is an intro for a documentary entitled, “This Is What Democracy Looks Like” posted July 13, 2011.

This film, shot by 100 amateur camera operators, tells the story of the enormous street protests in Seattle, Washington in November 1999, against the World Trade Organization summit being held there. Vowing to oppose, among other faults, the WTO’s power to arbitrally (sic) overrule nations’ environmental, social and labour policies in favour of unbridled corporate greed, protestors from all around came out in force to make their views known and stop the summit. Against them is a brutal police force and a hostile media as well as the stain of a minority of destructively overzealous comrades. Against all odds, the protesters bravely faced fierce opposition to take back the rightful democratic power that the political and corporate elite of the world is determined to deny the little people.

Here is an example of the WTO exercising its power to hinder Free Speech in the signatory nation of Canada.

Tensions are being raised once again because the WTO (World Trade Organization) is pressuring the Canadian government in Ottawa to stop subsidizing Canadapost and to increase the rate [SlantRight: Dead Link] for delivering library books. These changes are to take effect in January and would increase the postal rate 13 times what the current rate is.  Effectively pushing the accessibility of learning out of reach for many low income rural families.

This is another example of the powerful elite pressuring a sovereign nation and its government to suppress the right to have access to knowledge. They do not want the average citizen to have access to this information because the powerful elite want to control the flow of information.  Only allowing what they want us to know to filter through.  We are seeing this more and more.

The CBC [SlantRight: Story may too old to locate at CBC] ran a new story tonight about how a number of bloggers in Canada are having lawsuits filed against them for exercising free speech on their blogs.

Canada is a free country, but if these trend(s) continue then our free country may not be free much longer. (WTO Puts Pressure on Ottawa Over Library Books; Citizen Paranoid; 8/17/07)

Here is an article that provides ten reasons why the WTO is bad for America and the American economy.

Globalism Destroys America: 10 Reasons Why The World Trade Organization Is Bad For The United States Economy

September 2010

In 2010, education has been so “dumbed down” in America that most Americans don’t even know what the WTO is, and even fewer understand why the WTO is important. The truth is that the World Trade Organization is essentially a global government for world trade.  It is a “contract” that severely restricts the ability of member nations to direct their own economies and set their own trade policies.  The United Nations is perhaps the only international organization that has more power than the WTO.  It was created on January 1st, 1995 as a replacement for GATT (the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade). Today, 153 nations representing more than 97% of total world trade are members of the WTO.  It has been largely responsible for the explosion in world trade that we have witnessed over the past several decades.  In fact, world trade is now over 15 times larger than it was 50 years ago.  But is this a good thing?

No, it is not.

The following are 10 reasons why the World Trade Organization is bad for America….
.
1 – The WTO is not accountable to the American people or to any other voters around the globe.  It is a sprawling bureaucracy that wields an almost unbelievable amount of power that is completely unchecked by democratic processes.  The American people could try to elect a large number of politicians who are in favor of pulling the United States out of the WTO, but considering the fact that both major political parties are very much pro-WTO at this point, that is simply not going to happen.

2 – The WTO acts as the legislature, the executive and the judiciary in matters of world trade.  The WTO has the authority to impose punishments on member nations, and it has not been shy about exercising this authority.  In essence, the WTO is the judge, the jury and the executioner and if anyone does not like this it is too bad for them.

3 – Many of the WTO regulations were authored word for word by the big global predator corporations that now dominate the world economy.  It is an open secret that the WTO is dominated by international bankers, large international corporations and the most developed nations.  Whenever new negotiations are conducted, it almost always seems as though it is the “sharks” that end up winning in the end.

4 – Any nation that attempts to protect itself against the negative effects of globalism and free trade is quickly reprimanded by the WTO.  In essence, the WTO is the enforcement arm for the powerful interests who are determined to merge us all into a one world economy.

5 – The WTO allows countries to sue each other.  This has been primarily used by the wealthy countries to push around the smaller, less developed nations.

6 – The WTO allows global corporations to sue countries.  Forget about sovereign immunity in matters governed by the WTO.  Under the WTO, the monolithic corporations who benefit the most from free trade can easily push around the smallest and least developed nations.

7 – The WTO is widening the gap between rich and poor.  Under the globalized system of free trade we are all living under, all wealth is slowly but surely being transferred into the hands of the very wealthy while the rest of us are left standing around trying to figure out how the game was rigged.

8 – The WTO forces the United States to open its doors to unsafe products.  For example, the United States had been very concerned about the safety of Chinese poultry products.  But the WTO ruled in China’s favor and now the U.S. must allow China to import massive amounts of unsanitary chicken.

9 – Under the WTO, labor has become a global commodity.  Now American workers have been put in direct competition with the cheapest labor in the world.  Millions of American workers have lost their jobs and factories are closing across the United States at a staggering pace.

10 – The American people are deeply upset about the state of the economy, but they don’t even understand what is going on.  According to a new CNN/Opinion Research Corporation survey, 81% of Americans rate the U.S. economy as “poor”.  Americans continue to get angrier and angrier about the economy and they want someone to “fix” it.  But what they don’t understand is that under the new global system that we are being merged into, it is intended that the standard of living for the poorer nations will go up while our standard of living goes down.  In the end, there is supposed to be “equality” all over the world. Okay, I spent a little more time than was needed to get to the Newbill email that is hostile to Newt Gingrich. My only defense is I simply got into looking at the WTO.

Without further adieu, here is the Newbill email.

I got Booted off NEWTs Facebook page and unfriended for posting the question below and that question was generated from this Video , Please forward the video to the time frame 11:40:

Hi, I want to cover everything, and I Want to Know what NEWT is going to do about the WTO free Trade agreement that’s been the fundamental failure of the USA the last 15-16 years? We have not balanced Trade deficits since its enactment and Newt was a part of that so I want him to address what he plans on doing to create FAIR TRADE not just Free Trade.

We have De-industrialized, read this it’s a fundamental of how a failed trade policy has decimated our USA's ability to sustain our Independence:

Our manufacturing base because of this is to the point that we are totally dependent on every vital human need and that makes We the People a society of SERFS. This is a very dangerous position to be in. If we cannot even make a Nut or a Bolt to hold our society together how can we be able to negotiate with world leaders when really all we have left is a paper currency and a nuke? There is nothing these so-called trade partners need. They all have formed this alliance called the BRIC (Brazil, Russia, India and China) nations and together they can gain what they need from each other without needing anything from the USA. And so my question is: When they reject the dollar as world trade currency and tell the USA they don't want any more dollars in exchange for what we need from them, like Parts supplies to repair and maintain our fleets of vehicle distribution, how will our vital needs be met? It could be like this Video suggests that we are getting very close to seeing happen:

This is all because we have become Dependent on foreign sources of supply and these BRIC nations know this can cripple our USA if they cut off our supply needs. We have no Industrial system we can turn back on like a Light switch and take over supplying these needs. What then, what is Newt’s plan when this happens? Congressman Roscoe Bartlett says GET OUT of the CITIES. I say why did we let it come to this???

And

It has also taken Mexico’s Jobs away over the years too. Europe’s Jobs too. This is all because of a Simple Currency manipulation that does nothing to promote quality in our products.

Remember what Ross Perot said, we would Hear a Giant Sucking Sound with this Trade Policy, he was right.

When all these warning signs were being ignored by the policy makers and Lobbyists in Washington DC because of the wealth effect that was seen and allowed to consolidate because of this so called Free Trade agreement of the 1990s, We the People are now down the road to SERFDOM farther than any other time in USA history and I want to hear what NEWT is going to do about this in terms of Economic Monetary Policy Mechanism???
