Cloud Ten Pictures is a Christian Evangelical oriented movie studio based in Toronto, Canada. Cloud Ten is hooking up with actor Kevin Sorbo (Hercules and Andromeda) who will be the host of a documentary entitled “The Twelve Biggest Lies.” The documentary poses twelve statements that the media, Left and anti-Christians demand people to accept as truth.
- 1. There is no such thing as Absolute Truth.
2. People are inherently good.
3. No one should be offended.
4. Men and women are equal.
5. A fetus isn’t human.
6. The world is overpopulated.
7. Americans are greedy and self-centered.
8. Islam is a religion of truth.
9. The Jews stole Jerusalem.
10. The earth is billions of years old.
11. There is no God.
12. Jesus was just a good man.
I have no idea of the path Cloud Ten Pictures is taking to prove these statements are lies. I can point out the ones that are pet peeves for me though.
There is no absolute truth: This is the dream of all Leftists. The Left demands that all truth be viewed as relative. Relative truth enables an effective attack on the validity of Christianity as viewed by Bible believers. Biblical Christians view truth in terms measured by absolute Divinity. Absolute truth says relative truth lifestyles such as homosexuality are a perversion. The concept of relative truth has stripped Christianity from any symbiosis with the American government. This is a situation that has only existed since the mid-twentieth century. Prior to this there was no thought of prayer in school as a Constitutional issue. There was no thought about a Cross being placed on public land as a memorial to living or fallen heroes. There was no thought of Biblical terms on Court Houses or other public building as an invasion of the American government establishing a State Church. Any concept of Separation of Church and State was viewed as the government not messing with Church. The Left has developed relative truth to propagandize that Church be removed as the moral standard of influence on the government.
People are inherently good: The centrality of Christian faith is that Jesus Christ is the incarnated God that came as a fully human being to redeem humanity from the fallen spiritual DNA bequeathed to Adam’s descendants for Adam’s act of disobedience that separated humanity from God and transferred authority to the Deceiver Satan. No matter how much self-control a person has that person is inherently bad. A person’s conscience will determine the good or bad in actions which explains the reason a redeemed Christian can still be bad. Redemption applies to a human’s spirit-man. It is up to a Christian to build up oneself spiritually to have the spirit-man dominate over the unredeemed nature of mind (conscience) and body.
Men and women are equal: I believe men and women are equal in rights but it is obvious men have superior strength than women generally. There may be exceptions to the rule but that is the point – it is an exception.
No one should be offended: As a Christian we are to go out of our way not offend or be offended. I am guessing the “lie” implied by Big Ten Pictures is that people should tread lightly so as not to offend another religion differing from Christianity or someone leading an alternate lifestyle such as homosexuality. I say tough! Christianity or Christians are not being offensive when they stand with the Word of God. Taking offense because of the Gospel is not the kind of offense that a Christian can be held as a perpetrator of evil or wrong. That is nonsense.
A fetus is not human: This is the big war between moral relativists and Biblical absolute moralists based on Christianity. Moral relativism determines a fetus is a body part such as a kidney, liver, spleen and so on. Biblical Christianity determines a human is a tripartite person: spirit, soul and body. Every human is conceived as such when the sperm connects with the egg. The only uncertainty I have is when the fertilization process is complete, when does the cell become that tripartite being. I am certain that at the fetal stage that human is a tripartite being and a life.
The world is overpopulated: I never really thought of this Malthusian reinvention of the danger of planetary overpopulation had become such a big issue among the Left again until recently. Evidently overpopulation is an aspect of the conspiracy theory that the United Nations has an agenda of being the planetary world government by using overpopulation issues to strip nations of independent national sovereignty. I love a good conspiracy theory; nonetheless I am still processing this one to see if it a fringe theory or another part of an increasing movement of global Western Leftists to eliminate sovereign nations to move closer to a Socialist-Humanist global utopia.
Americans are greedy and self-centered: Certainly there is a degree of greed and self-centeredness among corporations that operate market capitalism to benefit shareholders. Many of the big dog corporations may consider America their home; however I sense it is a good guess that most corporations have a multinational or transnational aspect that is not representative of the everyday American. Americans as a whole are the most giving people of planet earth. Charities and NGOs that operate nationally and internationally receive more voluntary support from Americans than any other people from any other nation in the world. I am willing to believe the American government (ergo the American taxpayer) sends more aid pro bono internationally than any nation in the world. I guess you can say, “So much for the myth of greedy and self-centered Americans.”
Islam is a religion of Peace: Now this something I have posted on frequently. I have no doubt that a majority of Muslims that the West calls moderate are more interested in an inner struggle to submit to their Allah; however the Wahhabi/Salafi Islam of Islamic terrorism is a closer representation of the Islam its founder intended to be. That Mohammedan intention was and is a theo-political warrior cult forcing submission of people globally to Islam in conversion, domination or death.
The Jews Stole Jerusalem: The Jews stole Jerusalem from whom? The Jews DEFINITELY did not steal Jerusalem from Muslims. The Muslims stole Jerusalem from Christians (Byzantine/Roman Empire). The Roman Empire stole Jerusalem from Jews.
The earth is billions of years old: I am probably the rare Biblical believing Christian who does not have a problem with this statement. The literal chronology of the Old Testament would give the impression planet earth is less than 6,000 years old. Modern Creation Theory supporters have done more home harm in trying to pigeonhole a 6,000 year old earth rather than finding a Biblical reason that comes closer to the scientific community’s belief the earth age is between 4.5 and 4.6 billion years old. My frame of mind has handled the discrepancy in this fashion: I don’t deal with God Almighty’s Creation of the earth as literal 24 hour periodic days. For one thing it is an educated guess of the period of time a newly formed earth rotated around the sun to form one day. Another unproven but I believe a good theological guess is that Adam was created as an eternal being that did not experience the movement of time and space as humanity began to experience until after Adam disobeyed God and ate from the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil. The act of eating the forbidden fruit separated Adam from the Divine Glory dimension into the twisted temporary dimension of time and space in which aging exists for humanity and the then corrupted earth existence twisted by Satan assuming the lease originally bestowed upon Adam from GOD Almighty. Now that is kind of mystical and probably causes problems for both Creationists and Evolutionists. So let me stir up even more criticism of my mystical elaboration of time and space that includes the assumption of billions of years of earth existence. I am big on Antediluvian Theory in which God Created living beings that were not Homo sapiens and pre-dated the creation of the first Homo sapiens Adam. Those that pitch Antediluvianism usually like to think Biblically in terms of a pre-Noahic Flood existence; however lacking a better term my thoughts on Antediluvian Theory leads me to believe there is a pre-Adamite existence of the earth between Genesis 1:1 and Genesis 1:2.
1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. 2 The earth was without form, and void; and darkness was[a] on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters.
Note in verse one God created the heavens and the earth. Notice there is no mention of a “first day” at this point. The Six Day (which were not 24 hour days) Creation began with verses three through five.
3 Then God said, “Let there be light”; and there was light. 4 And God saw the light, that it was good; and God divided the light from the darkness. 5 God called the light Day, and the darkness He called Night. So the evening and the morning were the first day.
Keeping in mind Genesis 1 says God Created the heavens and then the earth note the Creation of Heaven was on day the second day.
6 Then God said, “Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters.” 7 Thus God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament; and it was so. 8 And God called the firmament Heaven. So the evening and the morning were the second day.
On the second day: God Created Heaven with a capital “H” in the English language. In the beginning Created the heavens – with a lower case “h” – and the earth. My point is the galaxies were created before God Almighty Created His Eternal dimensional abode the English language calls Heaven with a capital “H”.
Then note in verse one God created the earth after He Created the heavens (lower case “h”). The earth was without form and void and yet there was enough form for God to hover over the waters of the earth.
According to an online version of Strong’s Concordance, “without form” is one Hebrew word that denotes the following:
1) formlessness, confusion, unreality, emptiness
a) formlessness (of primeval earth)1) nothingness, empty space
b) that which is empty or unreal (of idols) (fig)
c) wasteland, wilderness (of solitary places)
d) place of chaos
e) vanity
A decent assumption would imply that “without form” does not denote material non-existence but rather a very real material existence which I speculate was an earth that existed in which it was separated from God much in the same way the earth Created for Adam became separated from God when Adam sold his lease of God-given authority to Satan.
The word “void” in the Hebrew adds solidity to my speculation about “without form.”
1) emptiness, void, waste
And again the word “darkness” which is described as “on the face of the deep” also bolsters my speculation that a pre-Adamite earth was a godless existence of something rather than no existence of material.
1) darkness, obscuritya) darkness
b) secret place
It is my contention that the angel Lucifer was the original guardian of an earth creation governing from an angelic place at his Creator-God’s side. The conclusion of my speculation is that when the good angel Lucifer became twisted in disobedience convincing one third of God’s angelic hosts to follow in rebellion is when Lucifer became the Adversary and Deceiver - Biblically in English as Satan. As Satan he was cast out of Heaven after presumptuous rebellion to assume God Almighty’s position of eminence ended in a punishment like a red-stepchild receiving the boot. Satan landed on the earth he was supposed to be the guardian of. At this point Satan endeavored to pursue his rebellion by corrupting the earth he was supposed to guard to the point that earth became an evil existence separate from God without form and void as a habitation dark abyss-like material with living creatures that were as twisted as their guardian Satan.
Well that is enough fun with my thoughts that the earth can be billions of years old and still be in line with the Bible.
There is no God: I am a Believer. I don’t have to prove there is a God because I know there is a God. As far as I concerned one can here the Good News and be delivered from the second attempt to corrupt God’s Creation or one can disbelieve in God’s existence and perish with Satan in the Last Judgment being eternally separated from the Glory of the existence of Father God in eternal torment in the second death of torment of the eternal flames of the lake of fire.
16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. 17 For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.
18 “He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. 19 And this is the condemnation, that the light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. 20 For everyone practicing evil hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his deeds should be exposed. 21 But he who does the truth comes to the light, that his deeds may be clearly seen, that they have been done in God.” (John 3: 16-21 NKJV)
Jesus was a good man: Duh! Of course He was a good man! Jesus is wholly man and wholly God being the incarnate God and a Son of Man simultaneously as the miracle of a sinless man paying for the debt of the first Adam’s disobedient lease to Satan. The unjust accusations by man led to an unjust execution for crimes He did not commit which to an undeserving death. The price that Satan had to pay in yet another devilish miscalculation was to be whooped on in the hellish regions and defeated. The spoils of Satan’s defeat was loss of management authority of death and the grave as well as the release of those that trust in God imprisoned in a Paradise under Satan’s management. Ouch! Satan was spanked heartily in front of the hosts of Heaven and the Paradise saints of God. I don’t have to prove anything by having a Thomas the Apostle faith:
24 Now Thomas, called the Twin, one of the twelve, was not with them when Jesus came. 25 The other disciples therefore said to him, “We have seen the Lord.”
So he said to them, “Unless I see in His hands the print of the nails, and put my finger into the print of the nails, and put my hand into His side, I will not believe.”
26 And after eight days His disciples were again inside, and Thomas with them. Jesus came, the doors being shut, and stood in the midst, and said, “Peace to you!” 27 Then He said to Thomas, “Reach your finger here, and look at My hands; and reach your hand here, and put it into My side. Do not be unbelieving, but believing.”
28 And Thomas answered and said to Him, “My Lord and my God!”
29 Jesus said to him, “Thomas,[a] because you have seen Me, you have believed. Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.” 30 And truly Jesus did many other signs in the presence of His disciples, which are not written in this book; (John 20: 24-30 NKJV)
As I said at the beginning of this essay concerning Big Ten Pictures’ documentary on “The Twelve Biggest Lies,” I have no idea the path that documentary is going to take. Nonetheless, it sure was a great launching pad to formulate some thoughts of my own.
