Ollie North is a Credible Critic of MSM Anti-War Stance

Oliver North is an American hero that America’s MSM did its darnedest to turn him into a criminal over the Iran/Contra Scandal during the Reagan Administration. The Iran/Contra Scandal was a crime because it was against the law to deal with a nation that had abandoned International decorum on Diplomatic Immunity. The Iran change of regimes between Shah Reza Pahlavi (Stalwart American ally) to the Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khomeini (Twelver Shi’ite American hating lunatic) led to Iran seizing the American Embassy in Tehran and holding the American employees hostage for about a year. For some moronic reason it was also illegal to supply arms and aid to Nicaraguans trying to end the Soviet style Communist take-over of their nation. The covert details of how to get money to the Nicaraguan Contra Rebels had to take on the nature of creative funding in order to keep the funding off the government books. Apparently many of the White House elite of the Reagan Administration new enough of the clandestine plan to making President Reagan susceptible to High Crimes and Misdemeanors. To make a long story short President Reagan got off the hook to any culpable connection to the clandestine deal, unfortunately many of the White House players did not. Then Marine Lt. Col. Oliver North of the National Security Council was one of those White House staffers that took the bulk of the blame for the deal to place the blame for the Contra aid on an Iranian source.

According to the content of the law it was a criminal act; however the intent of the covert operation to put a thorn in the Communist-Sandinista Nicaraguan government was a moral and noble act. Ironically North was not convicted for the Iran/Contra crime rather he was convicted for shredding evidence connecting the White House to the criminal yet noble act. North experienced three convictions of which one was overturned absolutely in Appeals and the other two sent back to the Lower Court for reconsideration since those convictions may have also administered via Congressional immunity. The Lower Court did not pursue action on the other two convictions which effectively vacated those convictions as well. The result: North exonerated and not convicted for any crimes.

Setting up North as one of my favorite patriots, you need to read his evaluation of the MSM trying to paint the war in Afghanistan as America’s longest war to date. The MSM painting the Afghan war theatre as America’s longest military engagement is a mere Left Wing ploy to influence voters to join the – Appeasement: We Lose – political camp of the American Left.
