Jihad Lecture 1
Gary H. Johnson, Jr. is one of my favorite experts of Islam to read. He may not be as well known as anti-Jihadist/anti-Islamist writers such as Robert Spencer or Andrew Bostom (and yes there are many more well known expositors of the dangers modern Islam). In any case Johnson usually has attention for detail where other writers generalize information for their readers because ease of reading means a greater ease of understanding. Also easier understanding means more sales of books which pays the bills for these writers; hence there is a capitalistic motive to generalize for their readers.
At any rate this post is of a lecture series on understanding Jihad which incorporates Johnson’s intellectual path of understanding Islam in differentiating the stand of Islamic apologists and the stand of most people call radical Islam (I call it purist Islam).
