Please Support Christian Worker-Journalist Shamim Masih

Shamim & Najma Masih 2

Below is a worthy request for support for the Christian worker/journalist Shamim Masih. Shamim is a frequent contributor to this blog which I do often cross post other places including social networks. Shamim does an awesome job in explaining what he does but I also included some information he sent last year during the Christmas season that I believe provides even more insight into Shamim’s servanthood for Christ Jesus to those starving the for the Good News.

In case you find the bank transfer methods Shamim provides to daunting you can use the SlantRight 2.0 PayPal donation BUTTON at the top of the Page – just make sure you specify that your support is for Shamim Masih so I can separate it from the funding that helps support my blogging efforts. Dear in Christ,

I, Shamim Masih have continued my work writing for Pakistani Christians during a very difficult time period for the sake of my community in the country. I have been a leading voice for my community and was the first one who raised voice for Rimsha, a Christian girl accused in a blasphemy case in Islamabad. I have been to Karachi for the young boy Ryan Santana, and for Sawan Masih in Joseph Colony, Lahore.  I have been to Gojra in 2009, in Gujranwala, in Mardan, when a riot began against controversial film against Mohammad and protesters set ablaze a church. I have also been to Joseph Colony, Lahore and to Gujranwala after a month of this incident.

Other than this, I have been raising different issues Pakistani Christians are facing through my writings. People witness that I am pure voice of Pakistani Christians at a grass roots level. Unfortunately due to the lack of funds I couldn’t visit the couple in Gojra arrested in a blasphemy case.

My work remains unfunded adding limits to my success. However I hope that more of my regular readers who learn about the situation facing Pakistani Christians primarily through my writing, would be willing to donate towards my ongoing costs. If you feel you can spare a monthly donation why not join a small and I am praying a growing list of regular supporting donors by asking your banks to arrange a standing order for any amount you can spare each month. Each penny will be appreciated and the money will encourage continuing my work Pakistani Christians.

Shamim made a similar request about a year ago. That request has a few more details of Shamim and his wife Najma:

Greetings from Reformation for Empowerment and Alleviation of Poverty (REAP) Islamabad (REAP description from GlobalPeaceBuilders website). I work as freelance journalist and normally published in Assist News (ANS), Salem-News- USA, Pakistan Christmas Post (PCP) – USA, Continental News (France) and Global Christian Voice, (GVC) Holland. My primary aim is to raise Pakistani Christian’s persecutions, concern, and obviously their workings nationally and internationally.

REAPsharing prosperity is the name of our organization based in Islamabad.

Vision: REAP endeavors for creating cohesion, tolerance and unity amongst various segments of the society. It has a challenging task ahead in view of current situations of polarization, turmoil and confusion between different ethnic, linguistic, religious and vested interests. Therefore, REAP likes to significantly contribute in leading our nation towards social justice, solidarity, trust and tolerance.

Philosophy: REAP pledges to devote to promote interfaith harmony, women empowerment and strive for Alleviation of Poverty amongst our populations living below the poverty line, especially Christians. We emphasize on working hand in hand with all likeminded forces committed to achieve greater glory of God.

Mission: REAP focuses on women folk, school drop outs, special persons, drug addicts, abused children and exploited minority and low income groups. We support socio-economic support to all deprived classes living in habitats like camps, “katchi bastis” and slums. REAP eagerly conceives, vigorously executes and zealously implements programs and projects of national interests in all circumstances, conducive and otherwise.

History: REAP comprises a team of God fearing and dedicated professionals having over two decades of selflessly contributing towards education & training, earthquake and floods relief and awareness and advocacy programs and projects of diversified nature in the past.

Our track record is a hallmark of achievements and accomplishments in institutional strengthening and skills development. REAP is a beacon house of Media research, promotion and management.

Profile: REAP has all along struggled for improving quality of life to the poor masses and low income groups. We already have an experienced faculty willing to impart on the job, hands on vocational and technical training right at the corners of slums. Our think tank prepares strategic policies and our human resources wing helps employers in head hunting. The economist, engineers, medical doctors, journalists, teachers, literary persons, sociologists on our penal of Volunteers work round the clock to strengthen our philosophy and mission. In addition, REAP also works with women and children through providing them an education, a vocational training center, medical camps and a nutritional feeding program.

Coats of Love:

REAP-sharing prosperity: Shamim and Najma live in Islamabad, Pakistan where they work to Alleviate Poverty.  The pioneers are raising money to provide 5,000 children living in the slum settlements in northern Pakistan with coats and blankets this December [i.e. in 2012].

Winter brings severely cold weather to the people of northern Pakistan. Many families living in tents and don’t have proper livings. Their children don’t have warm clothes like coats or sweaters. Many families have only one blanket to share among all of their children, and unfortunately many families do not have a blanket at all and warm clothes.

A small act of kindness- such as providing a warm clothes and blanket can be blessing and show God’s love in a practical way.

Now we are raising money to provide 5,000 people especially for northern areas of the country with blankets and warm clothes. Many of the people are considered least reached or unreached [Even though this request was applicable to 2012 I suspect this an annual situation].

Each blanket or coat costs $ 10.00 and will be delivered to a needy family this winter. You can make a donation at………….. [SEE ABOVE BANK TRANSFER INFORMATION]

Thank you for showing God’s love to some of Pakistan’s least reached through a tangible act of compassion.
