Seeds of a Sunni-Shia War?

I was reading a WND news article where I came upon ad that caught my attention and was entitled: “EXPOSED: The REAL Reason Iran Wants the Bombs …” The ad had a picture of Mahmoud Ahmadinejad pointing his finger as in a speech. The ad was a link to an investment promotion that uses the carrot of “free” reports to buy a $49 subscription to an investment newsletter with a money back guarantee if the purchaser is not pleased. However, preceding the shpeel is some interesting analytic extrapolations about the probability for a coming war in the Middle East. Interestingly the war would not be the Muslims against Israel scenario. Rather the war will occur because of Iran desires to control the oil of Saudi Arabia and the underlying tension will be the age old strife between Sunni Muslims and Shia Muslims. That which is most fascinating to think about is that Sunnis are about 90% of all Muslims. The biggest concentration of Shias is in Iran with a significant minority of Arab speaking Shias in Iraq. According the video report those Shias of Iraq is the location of some of richest oil deposits in the Iraqi nation.

The ad video displays maps showing Shia population groups that roughly surround Saudi Arabia that have traditionally had zero political or military clout. The speculation from the ad shows that Iranian support for these Shia population centers have militarized traditionally powerless Shias into Islamic terrorist clients of Iran. The classic example is Hezbollah in Lebanon and the Islamic terrorists in Yemen.

I sense Iran might start a conflict with Israel through its proxies Hezbollah of Lebanon and the rogue government of Syria as an excuse to attack Israel. The saber rattling talk to wipe Israel off the map would be an excuse to turn on the current Saudi partnership with America to attack Saudi Arabia. Again the excuse will be Israel and the presence of Israel’s traditional big dog supporter America. America has military bases in the Muslim holy land of the Arabian Peninsula which is the location of Mecca and Medina which are central to Islam’s theopolitical cult. Both Sunnis and Shias revere Mecca and Medina. An excuse to invade Saudi Arabia would be to remove Mecca and Medina from the Saudi Royal family control (Wahhabi Sunni) who have brought the infidel (kafir-Americans) to the Arabian Peninsula.

Many purist Muslims that the West love to call radical Muslims are in agreement that the infidel should have no part on the Arabian Peninsula. So here is the irony of a Sunni/Shia war: many radical Muslim sects will undoubted support Iran’s fabricated excuse to invade Saudi Arabia even though they are Sunni by nature. This would include a number of Wahhabi Sunnis in Saudi Arabia itself. By the by, al Qaeda’s existence from founder Osama bin Laden came into being because of the infidel being on the Arabian Peninsula in the First Iraq War. Bin Laden was a Saudi citizen from a wealthy family that was partial to Wahhabi ideology. And it would not be the first time Wahhabi Sunnis confronted the Saudi Royal family over their role as the protectors of Mecca and Medina. Wahhabis seized the Great Mosque in 1979 and only an agreement between the Saudi Royal family and Wahhabi Clerics saved Saudi Arabia from a Sunni version of Khomeini’s Shia Iranian Revolution in Iran. Indeed before the Saudi/Wahhabi agreement, the Saudi Royal family clandestinely utilized infidel French commandos to wrest control away from the Wahhabi revolutionaries holding the Great Mosque. Even today the Saudis would deny using infidel to retrieve the Great Mosque.

Three commandos from the French GIGN led by thirty-three year old Lieutenant Paul Barril converted to Islam so that they would be allowed into Mecca to aid the Saudi police and military and their Pakistani attaches in planning the retaking of the mosque – as non-Muslims cannot enter the city of Mecca. Their identities were concealed by the Saudi government so as to avoid the appearance of being too closely allied with non-Muslim nations and parties, as was frequently the accusation leveled by the propaganda services of Ayatollah Khomeini against The House of Saud. (Ground Mosque Seizure; Siege: Absolute Astronomy)

I am guessing Barril’s conversion was a hypocritical exploitation of the Saudis because this guy has been involved in a bunch of controversies from his Gendarme days through to his days as a consultant about terrorism.

Now the prediction of this ad that a war is looming very soon in the Middle East from Iranian hegemonic desires that could indeed turn intolerant Islamic Iran into a super power interested me; however I learned some bonus information in the ad’s pursuit to plug an investment newsletter.

Did you know that Brazil has the sovereign control of newly discovered oil fields under the ocean of the Brazilian coast? I mean it is so huge that it may be bigger than Saudi Arabia’s oil deposits or even Russia’s Siberian oil deposits. Brazil is a large nation in South America that does have access to natural resources because of its size. Brazil as a developing nation has depended on American and European corporations to develop those resources over the years. This would all change with the kind of revenue oil development and possible oil refining that will turn Brazil into a major oil exporter. Natural resources are a major absence from other oil exporting giants such as Saudi Arabia or Iran. Can you imagine the kind of prosperity this will bring to Brazil? With Brazil’s natural resources and oil money to develop it, Brazil will enter a stage of huge industrialization. Industrialization means building a military to protect Brazil from outside competitors. Guess which nation competition would affect the most? That would be the National Interests and National Security of the United States of America.

Unless America begins to court Brazil as a South American partner (as in equals rather than superior/inferior), Brazil will naturally turn to America’s competitors to offset American meddling that would have to occur for America to remain strong. If Brazil hooks up with nations that are a threat to America’s economy or military prowess, American-Brazil tension could evolve into military confrontation. Any of these nations hooking up with a powerful Brazil will cause problems for America: Iran, Russia and China.

Iran is seeking hegemony in the Middle East to the point of trying to acquire Iraq and Saudi crude. Russia and America have not exactly seen things eye to eye lately on mutual National Interests that still has the air of military competition. China is seeking its own hegemonic region of influence in Asia. China also holds a large chunk of America’s debt and thus is doing a little tugging on America’s testicles. America’s entangled non-declared war against Islamic terrorists is diverting American resources that expose America’s back-side if Brazil engages positively with America’s competitors. I can throw in pipsqueak yet blowhard Marxist Venezuela in the mix, but I think there are a lot of variables involved with Venezuela being an oil competitor right on the border with Brazil. Although I expect a lot of nationalization from Brazil, I’m not seeing Hugo Chavez’s Marxist paradigm as being attractive to Brazil’s future. In fact old Hugo might be the best thing to move Brazil and America into a much needed alliance as the protectors of North and South America.

In case you are curious about more of the ad data. It spends some time talking about how many nations with nuclear power plants are increasing that capacity thus increasing the demand for uranium. Then the ad examines gold as an investment that is wise when a global war might mess up all the currencies of the world. Conspiracy Theorists can extrapolate how this data might geopolitics and global wars that could lead to the – wait for it … the New World Order.
